First Reading (1 Kings 17: 10–16)
A reading from the first book of Kings.
Elijah went to Zarephath. On reaching the gate of the town, he saw a widow gathering sticks. He called to her and stated, "Bring me a little water in a vessel that I may drink." As she was going to bring it, he called after her and stated, "Bring me also a piece of bread." But she answered, "As the Lord your God lives, I have no bread left but only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. I am just now gathering some sticks so that I may go in and prepare something for myself and my son to eat — and die." Elijah then stated to her, "Do not be afraid. Go and do as you have stated, but first make me a little cake of it and bring it me; then make some for yourself and your son. For this is the word of the Lord, the God of Israel. 'The jar of meal shall not be emptied nor shall the jug of oil fail, until the day when the lord sends rain to the earth." So she went and did as Elijah told her; and she had food for herself, Elijah and her son from that day on. The jar of flour was not emptied nor did the jug of oil fail, in accordance with what the Lord had stated through Elijah.
Second Reading (Hebrews 9: 24–28)
A reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Hebrews.
Christ did not enter some sanctuary made by hands, a copy of the true one, but heaven itself. He is now in the presence of God on our behalf. He had not to offer himself many times, as the High Priest does: he who may return every year, because the blood is not his own. Otherwise he would have suffered many times from the creation of the world. But no; he manifested himself only now at the end of the ages, to take away sin by sacrifice, and as humans die only once and afterwards are judged, in the same way Christ sacrificed himself once to take away the sins of the multitude. There will be no further question of sin when he comes again to save those waiting for him.
Gospel (Mark 12: 38–44)
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Mark.
While Jesus was teaching, he additionally stated to them, "Beware of those teachers of the Law who enjoy walking around in long robes and being greeted in the marketplace, and who like to occupy reserved seats in the synagogues and the first places at feasts. They even devour the widow's and the orphan's goods while marking a show of long prayers. How severe a sentence they will receive!" Jesus then sat down opposite the Temple treasury and watched the people dropping money into the treasury box; many rich people donated large offerings. However, a poor widow also came and drop in two small coins. When Jesus observed this, he called his disciples and announced to them, "Truly, I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all those who gave offerings. For all of them gave from their plenty, but she gave from her poverty and put in everything she had, her very living."

The Lord is forever faithful; he gives justice to the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free.
The Lord grants sight to the blind, the Lord raises up who are bent. The Lord loves the virtuous, and the Lord protects the stranger.
The Lord sustains the widow and the orphan, he brings to ruin the way of the wicked. The Lord will reign forever, your God, O Zion, from generation to generation. Alleluia!

Se levantó y partió para Sarepta. Cuando llegó a la puerta de la ciudad, había allí una viuda que recogía leña. La llamó y le dijo: “¿Quieres traerme un poco de agua en ese cántaro para que yo beba?” Cuando iba a buscarla, la llamó y le dijo: ¿Podrías traerme también un trozo de pan?” Ella le respondió: “Tan cierto como que vive Yahvé, tu Dios, que no tengo nada cocido; sólo tengo un poco de harina en un tiesto y un poco de aceite en un cántaro. Estaba recogiendo dos atados de leña y vuelvo a mi casa para prepararlo para mí y para mi hijo. Lo comeremos y luego vendrá la muerte.” Elías le dijo: “No temas, anda y haz lo que te digo; sólo que prepara primero un pancito que me traerás, luego harás otro para ti y para tu hijo. Porque esto dice Yahvé, Dios de Israel: “La harina del tiesto no se acabará y el aceite del cántaro no se terminará hasta el día en que Yahvé haga llover sobre la tierra.” Ella se fue e hizo tal como le había dicho Elías, y durante mucho tiempo tuvieron qué comer, éste, ella y el hijo. La harina del tiesto no se acabó y el aceite del cántaro no se terminó, según la palabra que Yahvé había dicho por boca de Elías.
Salmo responsorial (Salmo 146) (Versículos 6C–8 y 8C–10)
La respuesta es: ¡Alaba al Señor, alma mía!
• Él mantiene su fidelidad para siempre, hace justicia a los oprimidos y da pan a los hambrientos. El Señor libera a los cautivos.
• Abre los ojos de los ciegos y endereza a los que están encorvados. El Señor ama a los justos. El Señor protege a los extranjeros.
• Sustenta al huérfano y a la viuda; y entorpece el camino de los malvados. El Señor reina eternamente, reina tu Dios, Sion, a lo largo de las generaciones. ¡Aleluya!
Segunda Lectura (Hebreos 9: 24–28)
Una lectura de la carta de San Pablo a los Hebreos.
Pues ahora no se trata de un santuario hecho por hombres, figura del santuario auténtico, sino que Cristo entró en el propio cielo, donde está ahora ante Dios en favor nuestro. Él no tuvo que sacrificarse repetidas veces, a diferencia del sumo sacerdote que vuelve todos los años con una sangre que no es la suya; de otro modo hubiera tenido que padecer muchísimas veces desde la creación del mundo. De hecho se manifestó una sola vez, al fin de los tiempos, para abolir el pecado con su sacrificio. Así como los hombres mueren una sola vez, y después viene para ellos el juicio; de la misma manera Cristo se sacrificó una sola vez para quitar los pecados de una multitud. La segunda vez se manifestará a todos aquellos que lo esperan como a su salvador, pero ya no será por causa del pecado.
Evangelio (Marcos 12: 38–44)
Una lectura del Evangelio Santo según San Marcos.
En su enseñanza Jesús les decía también: “Cuídense de esos maestros de la Ley a quienes les gusta pasear con sus amplias vestiduras, ser saludados en las plazas y ocupar asientos reservados en las sinagogas y en los banquetes; incluso devoran los bienes de las viudas, mientras se amparan detrás de largas oraciones. ¡Con qué severidad serán juzgados!” Jesús se había sentado frente a las alcancías del Templo, y podía ver cómo la gente echaba dinero para el tesoro; pasaban ricos y daban mucho, pero también se acercó una viuda pobre y echó dos moneditas de muy poco valor. Jesús entonces llamó a sus discípulos y les dijo: “Yo les aseguro que esta viuda pobre ha dado más que todos los otros. Pues todos han echado de lo que les sobraba, mientras ella ha dado desde su pobreza; no tenía más, y dio todos sus recursos.”

Ia berseru kepada perempuan itu, katanya: "Cobalah ambil bagiku sedikit air dalam kendi, supaya aku minum." Ketika perempuan itu pergi mengambilnya, ia berseru lagi: "Cobalah ambil juga bagiku sepotong roti." Perempuan itu menjawab: "Demi TUHAN, Allahmu, yang hidup, sesungguhnya tidak ada roti padaku sedikitpun, kecuali segenggam tepung dalam tempayan dan sedikit minyak dalam buli-buli. Dan sekarang aku sedang mengumpulkan dua tiga potong kayu api, kemudian aku mau pulang dan mengolahnya bagiku dan bagi anakku, dan setelah kami memakannya, maka kami akan mati." Tetapi Elia berkata kepadanya: "Janganlah takut, pulanglah, buatlah seperti yang kaukatakan, tetapi buatlah lebih dahulu bagiku sepotong roti bundar kecil dari padanya, dan bawalah kepadaku, kemudian barulah kaubuat bagimu dan bagi anakmu. Sebab beginilah firman TUHAN, Allah Israel: Tepung dalam tempayan itu tidak akan habis dan minyak dalam buli-buli itupun tidak akan berkurang sampai pada waktu TUHAN memberi hujan ke atas muka bumi." Lalu pergilah perempuan itu dan berbuat seperti yang dikatakan Elia; maka perempuan itu dan dia serta anak perempuan itu mendapat makan beberapa waktu lamanya. Tepung dalam tempayan itu tidak habis dan minyak dalam buli-buli itu tidak berkurang seperti firman TUHAN yang diucapkan-Nya dengan perantaraan Elia.
Bacaan kedua (Ibrani 9: 24–28)

Sebab Kristus bukan masuk ke dalam tempat kudus buatan tangan manusia yang hanya merupakan gambaran saja dari yang sebenarnya, tetapi ke dalam surga sendiri untuk menghadap hadirat Allah guna kepentingan kita. Dan Ia bukan masuk untuk berulang-ulang mempersembahkan diri-Nya sendiri, sebagaimana Imam Besar setiap tahun masuk ke dalam tempat kudus dengan darah yang bukan darahnya sendiri. Sebab jika demikian Ia harus berulang-ulang menderita sejak dunia ini dijadikan. Tetapi sekarang Ia hanya satu kali saja menyatakan diri-Nya, pada zaman akhir untuk menghapuskan dosa oleh korban-Nya. Dan sama seperti manusia ditetapkan untuk mati hanya satu kali saja, dan sesudah itu dihakimi, demikian pula Kristus hanya satu kali saja mengorbankan diri-Nya untuk menanggung dosa banyak orang. Sesudah itu Ia akan menyatakan diri-Nya sekali lagi tanpa menanggung dosa untuk menganugerahkan keselamatan kepada mereka, yang menantikan Dia.
Bacaan Injil (Markus 12: 38–44)

Dalam pengajaran-Nya Yesus berkata: "Hati-hatilah terhadap ahli-ahli Taurat yang suka berjalan-jalan memakai jubah panjang dan suka menerima penghormatan di pasar, yang suka duduk di tempat terdepan di rumah ibadat dan di tempat terhormat dalam perjamuan, yang menelan rumah janda-janda, sedang mereka mengelabui mata orang dengan doa yang panjang-panjang. Mereka ini pasti akan menerima hukuman yang lebih berat." Pada suatu kali Yesus duduk menghadapi peti persembahan dan memperhatikan bagaimana orang banyak memasukkan uang ke dalam peti itu. Banyak orang kaya memberi jumlah yang besar. Lalu datanglah seorang janda yang miskin dan ia memasukkan dua peser, yaitu satu duit. Maka dipanggil-Nya murid-murid-Nya dan berkata kepada mereka: "Aku berkata kepadamu, sesungguhnya janda miskin ini memberi lebih banyak dari pada semua orang yang memasukkan uang ke dalam peti persembahan. Sebab mereka semua memberi dari kelimpahannya, tetapi janda ini memberi dari kekurangannya, semua yang ada padanya, yaitu seluruh nafkahnya."
