First Reading (Daniel 12: 1–3)
A reading from the book of the prophet Daniel.
At that time, Michael will rise, the Great Commander who defends your people. It shall be a time of anguish as never before since the nations first existed until this very day. Then all those whose names are written in the Book will be saved. Many of those who sleep in the Region of the Dust will awake, some to everlasting life but others to eternal horror and shame. Those who acquired knowledge will shine like the brilliance of the firmament; those who taught people to be just will shine like the stars for all eternity.
Second Reading (Hebrews 10: 11–14 and 18)
A reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Hebrews.
So, whereas every priest stands daily by the altar offering repeatedly the same sacrifices that can never take away sins, Christ has offered for all times a single sacrifice for sins and has taken his seat at the right hand of God, waiting until God puts his enemies as a footstool under his feet. By a single sacrifice he has brought those who are sanctified to what is perfect forever. So, if sins are forgiven, there is no longer need of any sacrifice for sin.
Gospel (Mark 13: 24–32)
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Mark.
Jesus stated this to his disciples: "Later on, in those days after that disastrous time, the sun will grow dark, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall out of the sky and the whole universe will be shaken.Then people will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And he will send the angels to gather his chosen people from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the sky. Learn a lesson from the fig tree. As soon as its branches become tender and it begins to sprout leaves, you know that summer is near. In the same way, when you see these things happening, know that the time is near, even at the door. Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all this has happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. But, regarding that Day and that Hour, no one knows when it will come, not even the angels, not even the Son, but only the Father."

You will show me the path to life, in your presence the fullness of joy, at your right hand happiness forever.

En aquel tiempo, se alzará Miguel, el gran Príncipe, que está de pie junto a los hijos de tu pueblo. Será un tiempo de tribulación, como no lo hubo jamás, desde que existe una nación hasta el tiempo presente. En aquel tiempo, será liberado tu pueblo: todo el que se encuentre inscrito en el Libro. Y muchos de los que duermen en el suelo polvoriento se despertarán, unos para la vida eterna, y otros para la ignominia, para el horror eterno. Los hombres prudentes resplandecerán como el resplandor del firmamento, y los que hayan enseñado a muchos la justicia brillarán como las estrellas, por los siglos de los siglos.
Salmo responsorial (Salmo 16) (Versículos 5 y 8–11)
La respuesta es: ¡Eres mi herencia, O Señor!
• El Señor es la parte de mi herencia y mi cáliz, ¡tú decides mi suerte! Tengo siempre presente al Señor: él está a mi lado, nunca vacilaré.
• Por eso mi corazón se alegra, se regocijan mis entrañas y todo mi ser descansa seguro: porque no me entregarás la Muerte ni dejarás que tu amigo vea el sepulcro.

Segunda Lectura (Hebreos 10: 11–14 y 18)
Una lectura de la carta de San Pablo a los Hebreos.
Los sacerdotes están de servicio diariamente para cumplir su oficio, ofreciendo repetidas veces los mismos sacrificios, que nunca tienen el poder de quitar los pecados. Cristo, por el contrario, ofreció por los pecados un único y definitivo sacrificio y se sentó a la derecha de Dios, esperando solamente que Dios ponga a sus enemigos debajo de sus pies. Su única ofrenda lleva a la perfección definitiva a los que santifica. Pues bien, si los pecados han sido perdonados, ya no hay sacrificios por el pecado.
Evangelio (Mateo 13: 24–32)
Una lectura del Evangelio Santo según San Marcos.
Jesús les dijo a sus discípulos: “Después de esa angustia llegarán otros días; entonces el sol dejará de alumbrar, la luna perderá su brillo, las estrellas caerán del cielo y el universo entero se conmoverá. Verán venir al Hijo del Hombre en medio de las nubes con gran poder y gloria. Enviará a los ángeles para reunir a sus elegidos de los cuatro puntos cardinales, desde el extremo de la tierra hasta el extremo del cielo. Aprendan de este ejemplo de la higuera: cuando las ramas están tiernas y brotan las hojas, saben que el verano está cerca. Así también ustedes, cuando vean que suceden estas cosas, sepan que todo se acerca, que ya está a las puertas. En verdad les digo que no pasará esta generación sin que ocurra todo eso. El cielo y la tierra pasarán, pero mis palabras no pasarán. Por lo que se refiere a ese Día y cuándo vendrá, no lo sabe nadie, ni los ángeles en el Cielo, ni el Hijo, sino solamente el Padre.”

Ngunit si Cristo ay minsan lamang naghandog para sa mga kasalanan, at iyo'y sapat na. Pagkatapos ay umupo siya sa kanan ng Diyos. Ngayo'y naghihintay siya roon hanggang sa lubusang pasukuin sa kanya ng Diyos ang kanyang mga kaaway. Samakatuwid, sa pamamagitan lamang ng isang paghahandog ay kanyang ginawang ganap magpakailanman ang mga nililinis ng Diyos.

Pagkatapos, makikita nila ang Anak ng Tao na nasa ulap, may dakilang kapangyarihan at karangalan. Susuguin niya ang kanyang mga anghel sa apat na sulok ng daigdig upang tipunin ng mga ito ang mga hinirang ng Diyos. Unawain ninyo ang aral mula sa puno ng igos; kapag sumisibol na ang mga sanga nito at nagkakadahon na, alam ninyong malapit na ang tag-araw. Gayundin naman, kapag nakita ninyong nangyayari na ang mga bagay na ito, malalaman ninyong malapit na ang kanyang pagdating; siya'y halos naririto na. Tandaan ninyo: magaganap ang lahat ng ito bago lumipas ang kasalukuyang salinlahi. Lilipas ang langit at ang lupa, ngunit ang aking mga salita ay mananatili magpakailanman. Ngunit walang nakakaalam ng araw o ng oras na iyon, kahit ang mga anghel sa langit, o ang Anak man. Ang Ama lamang ang nakakaalam nito.”
