Elisha insisted, "Give them to the men that they may eat, for the Lord says: They shall eat and have some remaining." So the man set it before them; they ate and there were some bread remaining, just as the Lord stated.

One Lord, one faith, one baptism. One God, the Father of all, who is above all and works through all and is in all.

Jesus went to the other side of the Sea of Galilee, near Tiberias, and large crowds followed him because of the miraculous signs they saw when Jesus healed the sick. So he went up into the hills and sat down there with his disciples. Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand. Then lifting his eyes, Jesus saw the crowds that were coming to him and asked Philip, "Where shall we buy bread so that these people may eat?" Jesus asked this question to test Philip, for he himself knew what he was going to do. Philip answered him, "Two hundred silver coins would not buy enough bread for each of them to have a piece." Then one of Jesus' disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, stated, "There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish; but what good are these for so many?" Jesus stated, "Have the people recline." There was plenty of grass there for the people, about five thousand men, sat down to rest. Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed them to those who were seated. He did the same with the fish and gave them as much as they wanted. And when they had eaten enough, he told his disciples, "Gather up the pieces left over, that nothing may be lost." So the disciples gather them up and filled twelve baskets with the bread, that is with pieces left by those who had eaten. When the people saw this sign that Jesus had been given, they stated, "This is really the Prophet, he who is to come into the world." Jesus realized that they would come and take him by force to make him king, therefore, he retreated to the hills alone.

All your works will give you thanks; all your saints, O Lord, will praise you, for they will tell the glory of your kingdom and speak of your power.
All creatures look to you to be fed in due season; with open hands you satisfy the living according to their needs.
Righteous is the Lord in all his ways, his mercy shows in all his deeds. He is near those who call on him, who call trustfully upon his name.

Llegó un hombre que venía de Baal-Salisa; en su saco traía al hombre de Dios veinte panes de cebada y de trigo que habían hecho con harina recién cosechada. Eliseo le dijo: “Dáselos a esos hombres para que coman.” Pero el sirviente le dijo: “No me alcanza para repartírselo a cien personas. Replicó: “Dáselos y que coman, porque esto dice Yahvé: Comerán y sobrará.” Les sirvieron, comieron y les sobró, tal como lo había dicho Yahvé.
Salmo responsorial (Salmo 145) (Versículos 10–11 y 15–18)
La respuesta es: Las obras del Señor nos alimentan; satisface todas nuestras necesidades.
• Que todas tus obras te den gracias, Señor, y tus fieles te bendigan; que anuncien la gloria de tu reino y proclamen tu poder.

Traten de conservar la unidad del Espíritu mediante el vínculo de la paz. Hay un solo Cuerpo y un solo Espíritu, así como hay una misma esperanza, a la que ustedes han sido llamados, de acuerdo con la vocación recibida. Hay un solo Señor, una sola fe, un solo bautismo. Después de esto, Jesús atravesó el mar de Galilea, llamado Tiberíades. Lo seguía una gran multitud, al ver los signos que hacía curando a los enfermos. Jesús subió a la montaña y se sentó allí con sus discípulos. Se acercaba la Pascua, la fiesta de los judíos. Al levantar los ojos, Jesús vio que una gran multitud acudía a él y dijo a Felipe: “¿Dónde compraremos pan para darles de comer?” Él decía esto para ponerlo a prueba, porque sabía bien lo que iba a hacer. Uno de sus discípulos, Andrés, el hermano de Simón Pedro, le dijo: “Aquí hay un niño que tiene cinco panes de cebada y dos pescados, pero ¿qué es esto para tanta gente?” Jesús le respondió: “Háganlos sentar.” Había mucho pasto en ese lugar. Todos se sentaron y eran uno cinco mil hombres. Jesús tomó los panes, dio gracias y los distribuyó a los que estaban sentados. Lo mismo hizo con los pescados, dándoles todo lo que quisieron. Cuando todos quedaron satisfechos, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: “Recojan los pedazos que sobran, para que no se pierda nada.” Los recogieron y llenaron doce canastas con los pedazos que sobraron de los cinco panes de cebada. Al ver el signo que Jesús acababa de hacer, la gente decía: “Este es, verdaderamente, el Profeta que debe venir al mundo.” Jesús, sabiendo que querían apoderarse de él para hacerlo rey, se retiró otra vez solo a la montaña.

Datanglah seseorang dari Baal-Salisa dengan membawa bagi abdi Allah roti hulu hasil, yaitu dua puluh roti jelai serta gandum baru dalam sebuah kantong. Lalu berkatalah Elisa: "Berilah itu kepada orang-orang ini, supaya mereka makan." Tetapi pelayannya itu berkata: "Bagaimanakah aku dapat menghidangkan ini di depan seratus orang?" Jawabnya: "Berikanlah kepada orang-orang itu, supaya mereka makan, sebab beginilah firman TUHAN: Orang akan makan, bahkan akan ada sisanya." Lalu dihidangkannyalah di depan mereka, maka makanlah mereka dan ada sisanya, sesuai dengan firman TUHAN.

Sesudah itu Yesus berangkat ke seberang danau Galilea, yaitu danau Tiberias. Orang banyak berbondong-bondong mengikuti Dia, karena mereka melihat mujizat-mujizat penyembuhan, yang diadakan-Nya terhadap orang-orang sakit. Dan Yesus naik ke atas gunung dan duduk di situ dengan murid-murid-Nya. Dan Paskah, hari raya orang Yahudi, sudah dekat. Ketika Yesus memandang sekeliling-Nya dan melihat, bahwa orang banyak berbondong-bondong datang kepada-Nya, berkatalah Ia kepada Filipus: "Di manakah kita akan membeli roti, supaya mereka ini dapat makan?" Hal itu dikatakan-Nya untuk mencobai dia, sebab Ia sendiri tahu, apa yang hendak dilakukan-Nya. Jawab Filipus kepada-Nya: "Roti seharga dua ratus dinar tidak akan cukup untuk mereka ini, sekalipun masing-masing mendapat sepotong kecil saja." Seorang dari murid-murid-Nya, yaitu Andreas, saudara Simon Petrus, berkata kepada-Nya: "Di sini ada seorang anak, yang mempunyai lima roti jelai dan dua ikan; tetapi apakah artinya itu untuk orang sebanyak ini?" Kata Yesus: "Suruhlah orang-orang itu duduk." Adapun di tempat itu banyak rumput. Maka duduklah orang-orang itu, kira-kira lima ribu laki-laki banyaknya. Lalu Yesus mengambil roti itu, mengucap syukur dan membagi-bagikannya kepada mereka yang duduk di situ, demikian juga dibuat-Nya dengan ikan-ikan itu, sebanyak yang mereka kehendaki. Dan setelah mereka kenyang Ia berkata kepada murid-murid-Nya: "Kumpulkanlah potongan-potongan yang lebih supaya tidak ada yang terbuang." Maka mereka pun mengumpulkannya, dan mengisi dua belas bakul penuh dengan potongan-potongan dari kelima roti jelai yang lebih setelah orang makan. Ketika orang-orang itu melihat mujizat yang telah diadakan-Nya, mereka berkata: "Dia ini adalah benar-benar nabi yang akan datang ke dalam dunia." Karena Yesus tahu, bahwa mereka hendak datang dan hendak membawa Dia dengan paksa untuk menjadikan Dia raja, Ia menyingkir pula ke gunung, seorang diri.

ある日、バアル・シャリシャ出身の人が、エリシャのところに、新穀を一袋と、初穂で焼いた大麦のパン二十個を持って来ました。エリシャはゲハジに、これを若い預言者たちに食べさせるよう指示しました。ゲハジは、「これっぽちのものを、百人もの人に食べさせるのですか」とあきれ顔で言いました。しかし、エリシャは言いました。「さあ、黙って食べさせなさい。『みんなに十分なだけある。食べ残す者もあるくらいだ』と、主は言われるのだから。」そのとおりにすると、はたして、主が言われたとおりになったのです。

主に仕えたために、今こうして牢獄につながれている私からお願いします。このように素晴らしい神の祝福を受けるために選ばれたあなたがたは、それにふさわしく生活し、行動してください。謙遜で柔和な人になってください。愛をもって互いの欠点を思いやり、互いに忍耐してください。御霊によって心を一つにされるよう常に努力し、互いに仲良く暮らしなさい。私たちはみな、一つの体の各器官です。だれもが同じ御霊を与えられ、同じ輝かしい未来へと招かれています。また、私たちの主はただ一人であり、信仰も一つであり、バプテスマ（洗礼）も一つです。そして、私たち全ての上に立ち、全ての中に宿り、各器官である私たちを貫いて生きておられる、神であり父である方は一つです。
福音書（ヨハネ第6章：第1詩–第15詩）

その後、イエスはテベリヤ湖とも呼ばれるガリラヤ湖の向こう岸に行かれました。大ぜいの群衆が、どこまでもあとについて行きました。イエスが病人を治されるのを見たからです。人々の多くは、過越の祭りのため、エルサレムへ行く途中でした。イエスが丘に登り、弟子たちといっしょに腰をおろされると、大ぜいの群衆も追いかけるように、あとからあとから丘に登って来ます。その様子をながめながら、イエスはピリポにお尋ねになりました。「ピリポ。この人たち全員に食べさせるには、どこからパンを買って来たらいいでしょうか。」もっとも、これはピリポを試しただけで、どうするかはもう決めておられたのです。ピリポは、「こんなにたくさんの人では、とても費用が足りません」と答えました。シモン・ペテロの兄弟アンデレが口をはさみました。「ここにいる子が、大麦のパンを五つと魚を二匹持っています。でも、こんなに大ぜいでは、何の足しになるでしょう。」イエスは、「さあ、みんなを座らせなさい」とお命じになりました。男だけでも五千人はいたでしょうか。それが全員、草の生えた斜面にどやどやと腰をおろしました。そこでイエスはパンを取り、神に感謝の祈りをささげてから人々にお配りになりました。また魚も、同様になさいました。みんなほしいだけ食べて、満腹しました。イエスは弟子たちに言われました。「さあ、少しもむだにしないよう、パン切れを集めなさい。」残りを集めると、なんと十二のかごにいっぱいになりました。それを見た人々は、どんなに素晴らしい奇跡が起こったのか初めて気づき、口々に、「この方こそ待ちに待ったあの預言者だ！」と叫びました。人々は熱狂して、むりやりにでもイエスを王にまつり上げかねない勢いです。イエスはそっと抜け出し、ただ一人、山に登って行かれました。

一人の男がバアル・シャリシャから初物のパン、大麦パン二十個と新しい穀物を袋に入れて神の人のもとに持って来た。神の人は、「人々に与えて食べさせなさい」と命じたが、召し使いは、「どうしてこれを百人の人々に分け与えることができましょう」と答えた。エリシャは再び命じた。「人々に与えて食べさせなさい。主は言われる。『彼らは食べきれずに残す。』」召し使いがそれを配ったところ、主の言葉のとおり彼らは食べきれずに残した。
第二読み物（エフェソの信徒第4章：第1詩–第6詩）
この読み物はエフェソの信徒への手紙です。
そこで、主に結ばれて囚人となっているわたしはあなたがたに勧めます。神から招かれたのですから、その招きにふさわしく歩み、一切高ぶることなく、柔和で、寛容の心を持ちなさい。愛をもって互いに忍耐し、平和のきずなで結ばれて、霊による一致を保つように努めなさい。体は一つ、霊は一つです。それは、あなたがたが、一つの希望にあずかるようにと招かれているのと同じです。主は一人、信仰は一つ、洗礼は一つ、全てのものの父である神は唯一であって、全てのものの上にあり、全てのものを通して働き、全てのものの内におられます。

その後、イエスはガリラヤ湖、すなわちティベリアス湖の向こう岸に渡られた。大勢の群衆が後を追った。イエスが病人たちになさったしるしを見たからである。イエスは山に登り、弟子たちと一緒にそこにお座りになった。ユダヤ人の祭りである過越祭が近づいていた。イエスは目を上げ、大勢の群衆が御自分の方へ来るのを見て、フィリポに、「この人たちに食べさせるには、どこでパンを買えばよいだろうか」と言われたが、こう言ったのはフィリポを試みるためであって、御自分では何をしようとしているか知っておられたのである。フィリポは、「めいめいが少しずつ食べるためにも、二百デナリオン分のパンでは足りないでしょう」と答えた。弟子の一人で、シモン・ペトロの兄弟アンデレが、イエスに言った。「ここに大麦のパン五つと魚二匹とを持っている少年がいます。けれども、こんなに大勢の人では、何の役にも立たないでしょう。」イエスは、「人々を座らせなさい」と言われた。そこには草がたくさん生えていた。男たちはそこに座ったが、その数はおよそ五千人であった。さて、イエスはパンを取り、感謝の祈りを唱えてから、座っている人々に分け与えられた。また、魚も同じようにして、欲しいだけ分け与えられた。人々が満腹したとき、イエスは弟子たちに、「少しも無駄にならないように、残ったパンの屑を集めなさい」と言われた。集めると、人々が五つの大麦パンを食べて、なお残ったパンの屑で、十二の籠がいっぱいになった。そこで、人々はイエスのなさったしるしを見て、「まさにこの人こそ、世に来られる預言者である」と言った。イエスは、人々が来て、自分を王にするために連れて行こうとしているのを知り、ひとりでまた山に退かれた。

Da Baal-Salisa venne un individuo, che offrì primizie all'uomo di Dio, venti pani d'orzo e farro che aveva nella bisaccia. Eliseo disse: “Dallo da mangiare alla gente.” Ma colui che serviva disse: “Come posso mettere questo davanti a cento persone?” Quegli replicò: “Dallo da mangiare alla gente. Poiché così dice il Signore: Ne mangeranno e ne avanzerà anche.” Lo pose davanti a quelli, che mangiarono, e ne avanzò, secondo la parola del Signore.
Seconda lettura (Efesini 4: 1–6)
Una lettura della lettera di San Paolo agli Efesini.
Vi esorto dunque io, il prigioniero nel Signore, a comportarvi in maniera degna della vocazione che avete ricevuto, con ogni umiltà, mansuetudine e pazienza, sopportandovi a vicenda con amore, cercando di conservare l'unità dello spirito per mezzo del vincolo della pace. Un solo corpo, un solo spirito, come una sola è la speranza alla quale siete stati chiamati, quella della vostra vocazione; un solo Signore, una sola fede, un solo battesimo. Un solo Dio Padre di tutti, che è al di sopra di tutti, agisce per mezzo di tutti ed è presente in tutti.
Vangelo (Giovanni 6: 1–15)

Dopo questi fatti, Gesù andò all'altra riva del mare di Galilea, cioè di Tiberìade, e una grande folla lo seguiva, vedendo i segni che faceva sugli infermi. Gesù salì sulla montagna e là si pose a sedere con i suoi discepoli. Era vicina la Pasqua, la festa dei Giudei. Alzati quindi gli occhi, Gesù vide che una grande folla veniva da lui e disse a Filippo: “Dove possiamo comprare il pane perché costoro abbiano da mangiare?” Diceva così per metterlo alla prova; egli infatti sapeva bene quello che stava per fare. Gli rispose Filippo: “Duecento denari di pane non sono sufficienti neppure perché ognuno possa riceverne un pezzo.” Gli disse allora uno dei discepoli, Andrea, fratello di Simon Pietro: “C'è qui un ragazzo che ha cinque pani d'orzo e due pesci; ma che cos'è questo per tanta gente?” Rispose Gesù: “Fateli sedere.” C'era molta erba in quel luogo. Si sedettero dunque ed erano circa cinquemila uomini. Allora Gesù prese i pani e, dopo aver reso grazie, li distribuì a quelli che si erano seduti, e lo stesso fece dei pesci, finché ne vollero. E quando furono saziati, disse ai discepoli: “Raccogliete i pezzi avanzati, perché nulla vada perduto.” Li raccolsero e riempirono dodici canestri con i pezzi dei cinque pani d'orzo, avanzati a coloro che avevano mangiato. Allora la gente, visto il segno che egli aveva compiuto, cominciò a dire: “Questi è davvero il profeta che deve venire nel mondo!” Ma Gesù, sapendo che stavano per venire a prenderlo per farlo re, si ritirò di nuovo sulla montagna, tutto solo.
