First reading (Acts 2: 42–47)
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles.
They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of bread and to the prayers. Awe came upon everyone, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. All who believed were together and had all things in common; they would sell their property and possessions and divide them among all according to each one’s need. Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple area and to breaking bread in their homes. They ate their meals with exultation and sincerity of heart, praising God and enjoying favor with all the people. And every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.
Second reading (1 Peter 1: 3–9)
A reading from the first letter of Saint Peter.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who in his great mercy gave us a new birth to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you who by the power of God are safeguarded through faith, to a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the final time. In this you rejoice, although now for a little while you may have to suffer through various trials, so that the genuineness of your faith, more precious than gold that is perishable even though tested by fire, may prove to be for praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Although you have not seen him you love him; even though you do not see him now yet believe in him, you rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy, as you attain the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.” Thomas, called Didymus, one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my finger into the nailmarks and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.” Now a week later his disciples were again inside and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, although the doors were locked, and stood in their midst and said, “Peace be with you.” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands, and bring your hand and put it into my side, and do not be unbelieving, but believe.” Thomas answered and said to him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.” Now, Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples that are not written in this book. But these are written that you may come to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that through this belief you may have life in his name.

A holy fear came upon all the people, for many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. Now all the believers lived together and shared all their belongings. Each day they met together in the Temple area; they broke bread in their homes; they shared their food with great joy and simplicity of heart; they praised God and won the people's favor. And every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.

Let us praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for his great mercy. In raising Jesus Christ from the dead he has given us new life and a living hope. There is cause for joy, then, even though you may, for a time, have to suffer many trials. Thus will you faith be tested, like gold in a furnace. Gold, however, passes away but faith, worth so much more, will bring you in the end praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ appears. You have not yet seen him and yet you love him; even without seeing him, you believe in him and experience a heavenly joy beyond all words, for you are reaching the goal of your faith: the salvation of your souls.

There were many other signs that Jesus gave in the presence of his disciples, but they are not recorded in this book. These are recorded so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; believe and you will have life through his Name.

I was pushed hard and about to fall, but the Lord came to my help. The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. Joyful shouts of victory are heard in the tents of the just: "The right hand of the Lord strikes mightily."
The stone rejected by the builders has become the keystone. This was the Lord's doing and we marvel at it. This is the day the Lord has made; so let us rejoice and be glad.

Todos se reunían asiduamente para escuchar la enseñanza de los Apóstoles y participar en la vida común, en la fracción del pan y en las oraciones. Un santo temor se apoderó de todos ellos, porque los Apóstoles realizaban muchos prodigios y signos. Todos los creyentes se mantenían unidos y ponían lo suyo en común: vendían sus propiedades y sus bienes, y distribuían el dinero entre ellos, según las necesidades de cada uno. Íntimamente unidos, frecuentaban a diario el Templo, partían el pan en sus casas, y comían juntos con alegría y sencillez de corazón; ellos alababan a Dios y eran queridos por todo el pueblo. Y cada día, el Señor acrecentaba la comunidad con aquellos que debían salvarse.
Salmo responsorial (Salmo 118) (Versículos 2–4, 13–15 y 22–24)
La respuesta es: Den gracias al Señor, porque es bueno, su amor es eterno.
• Que lo diga el pueblo de Israel: ¡es eterno su amor! Que lo diga la familia de Aarón: ¡es eterno su amor! Que lo digan los que temen al Señor: ¡es eterno su amor!
• Me empujaron con violencia para derribarme, pero el Señor vino en mi ayuda. El Señor es mi fuerza y mi protección; él fue mi salvación. Un grito de alegría y de victoria resuena en las carpas de los justos: La mano del Señor hace proezas.

Segunda lectura (1 Pedro 1: 3–9)
Una lectura de la primera carta de San Pedro.
Bendito sea Dios, Padre de Cristo Jesús, nuestro Señor, por su gran misericordia. Al resucitar a Cristo Jesús de entre los muertos, nos dio una vida nueva y una esperanza viva. Reservaba para ustedes la herencia celestial, ese tesoro que no perece ni se echa a perder y que no se deshace con el tiempo. Y los protege el poder de Dios, por medio de la fe, con miras a la salvación que nos tiene preparada para los últimos tiempos. Por esto estén alegres, aunque por un tiempo tengan que ser afligidos con diversas pruebas. Si el oro debe ser probado pasando por el fuego, y es sólo cosa pasajera, con mayor razón su fe, que vale mucho más. Esta prueba les merecerá alabanza, honor y gloria el día en que se manifieste Cristo Jesús. Ustedes lo aman sin haberlo visto; ahora creen en él sin verlo, y ahora se sienten llenos de una alegría inefable y celestial al tener ya ahora eso mismo que pretende la fe, la salvación de sus almas.

Al atardecer de ese mismo día, el primero de la semana, estando cerradas las puertas del lugar donde se encontraban los discípulos, por temor a los judíos, llegó Jesús y poniéndose en medio de ellos, les dijo: “¡La paz esté con ustedes!” Mientras decía esto, les mostró sus manos y su costado. Los discípulos se llenaron de alegría cuando vieron al Señor. Jesús les dijo de nuevo: “¡La paz esté con ustedes! Como el Padre me envió a mí, yo también los envío a ustedes.” Al decirles esto, sopló sobre ellos y añadió, “Reciban al Espíritu Santo. Los pecados serán perdonados a los que ustedes se los perdonen, y serán retenidos a los que ustedes se los retengan.” Tomás, uno de los Doce, de sobrenombre el Mellizo, no estaba con ellos cuando llegó Jesús. Los otros discípulos le dijeron: “¡Hemos visto al Señor!” Él les respondió: “Si no veo la marca de los clavos en sus manos, si no pongo el dedo en el lugar de los clavos y la mano en su costado, no lo creeré.” Ocho días más tarde, estaban de nuevo los discípulos reunidos en la casa, y estaba con ellos Tomás. Entonces apareció Jesús, estando cerradas las puertas, se puso en medio de ellos y les dijo: “¡La paz esté con ustedes!” Luego dijo a Tomás: “Trae aquí tu dedo: aquí están mis manos. Acerca tu mano: Métela en mi costado. En adelante no seas incrédulo, sino hombre de fe.” Tomas respondió: “¡Señor mío y Dios mío!” Jesús le dijo: “Ahora crees, porque me has visto. ¡Felices los que creen sin haber visto!” Jesús realizó además muchos otros signos en presencia de sus discípulos, que no se encuentran relatados en este Libro. Inilaan nila ang kanilang mga sarili upang matuto sa turo ng mga apostol, magsama-sama bilang magkakapatid, magsalu-salo sa pagkain ng tinapay, at manalangin. Dahil sa maraming himala at kababalaghang ginagawa sa pamamagitan ng mga apostol [sa Jerusalem], naghari sa lahat ang takot. Nagsama-sama ang lahat ng sumasampalataya at ang kanilang mga ari-arian ay itinuring na para sa lahat. Ipinagbili nila ang kanilang mga ari-arian at ang napagbilhan ay ipinamahagi sa bawat isa ayon sa kanyang pangangailangan. Araw-araw, sila'y nagkakatipon sa Templo at nagpipira-piraso ng tinapay sa kanilang mga tahanan, na masaya at may malinis na kalooban. Nagpupuri sila sa Diyos, at kinalulugdan sila ng lahat ng tao. Pasalamatan natin ang Diyos at Ama ng ating Panginoong Jesu-Cristo. Dahil sa laki ng habag niya sa atin, tayo'y binigyan niya ng isang panibagong buhay sa pamamagitan ng muling pagkabuhay ni Jesu-Cristo. Ito ang nagbigay sa atin ng isang buháy na pag-asa na magmamana tayo ng kayamanang di masisira, walang kapintasan, at di kukupas na inihanda ng Diyos sa langit para sa inyo. Sa pamamagitan ng inyong pananampalataya, iniingatan kayo ng kapangyarihan ng Diyos habang hinihintay ninyo ang kaligtasang nakahandang ihayag sa katapusan ng panahon. Ito'y dapat ninyong ikagalak, kahit na maaaring magdanas muna kayo ng iba't ibang pagsubok sa loob ng maikling panahon. Ang ginto, bagama't nasisira, ay pinapadaan sa apoy upang malaman kung talagang dalisay. Gayundin naman, ang inyong pananampalataya, na higit na mahalaga kaysa ginto, ay sinusubok upang malaman kung ito'y talagang tapat. Sa gayon kayo'y papupurihan, dadakilain at pararangalan sa Araw na mahayag si Jesu-Cristo. Hindi ninyo siya nakita ngunit siya'y inibig ninyo. Hindi pa rin ninyo siya nakikita hanggang ngayon, ngunit sumasampalataya kayo sa kanya. Kaya't sinabi sa kanya ng ibang mga alagad, “Nakita namin ang Panginoon!” Sumagot si Tomas, “Hindi ako maniniwala hangga't hindi ko nakikita ang mga butas ng mga pako sa kanyang mga kamay, at hangga't hindi ko nailalagay ang aking daliri sa mga iyon at nahahawakan ang kanyang tagiliran.” Makalipas ang isang linggo, muling nagkatipon sa loob ng bahay ang mga alagad at kasama nila si Tomas. Nakasara ang mga pinto, ngunit pumasok si Jesus at tumayo sa kalagitnaan nila. Sinabi niya, “Sumainyo ang kapayapaan!” At sinabi niya kay Tomas, “Ilagay mo ang iyong daliri dito at tingnan mo ang aking mga kamay. Ilagay mo ang iyong kamay sa aking tagiliran. Huwag ka nang mag-alinlangan pa, sa halip ay maniwala ka.” Sumagot si Tomas, “Panginoon ko at Diyos ko!” Sinabi sa kanya ni Jesus, “Naniniwala ka na ba dahil nakita mo ako? Pinagpala silang hindi nakakita gayunma'y naniniwala.” Marami pang mga himalang ginawa si Jesus na nasaksihan ng mga alagad na hindi nakasulat sa aklat na ito. Ngunit ang mga nakasulat dito ay isinulat upang kayo'y sumampalataya na si Jesus ang Cristo, ang Anak ng Diyos, at sa pagsampalatayang iyon ay magkaroon kayo ng buhay sa pamamagitan niya.

Mereka bertekun dalam pengajaran rasul-rasul dan dalam persekutuan. Dan mereka selalu berkumpul untuk memecahkan roti dan berdoa. Maka ketakutanlah mereka semua, sedang rasul-rasul itu mengadakan banyak mujizat dan tanda. Dan semua orang yang telah menjadi percaya tetap bersatu, dan segala kepunyaan mereka adalah kepunyaan bersama, dan selalu ada dari mereka yang menjual harta miliknya, lalu membagi-bagikannya kepada semua orang sesuai dengan keperluan masing-masing. Dengan bertekun dan dengan sehati mereka berkumpul tiap-tiap hari dalam Bait Allah. Mereka memecahkan roti di rumah masing-masing secara bergilir dan makan bersama-sama dengan gembira dan dengan tulus hati, sambil memuji Allah. Dan mereka disukai semua orang. Dan tiap-tiap hari Tuhan menambah jumlah mereka dengan orang yang diselamatkan.

Yaitu kamu, yang dipelihara dalam kekuatan Allah karena imanmu sementara kamu menantikan keselamatan yang telah tersedia untuk dinyatakan pada zaman akhir. Bergembiralah akan hal itu, sekalipun sekarang ini kamu seketika harus berdukacita oleh berbagai-bagai pencobaan. Maksud semuanya itu ialah untuk membuktikan kemurnian imanmu — yang jauh lebih tinggi nilainya dari pada emas yang fana, yang diuji kemurniannya dengan api — sehingga kamu memperoleh puji-pujian dan kemuliaan dan kehormatan pada hari Yesus Kristus menyatakan diri-Nya. Sekalipun kamu belum pernah melihat Dia, namun kamu mengasihi-Nya. Kamu percaya kepada Dia, sekalipun kamu sekarang tidak melihat-Nya. Kamu bergembira karena sukacita yang mulia dan yang tidak terkatakan, karena kamu telah mencapai tujuan imanmu, yaitu keselamatan jiwamu.

Pada waktu itu datanglah Yesus dan berdiri di tengah-tengah mereka dan berkata: "Damai sejahtera bagi kamu!" Dan sesudah berkata demikian, Ia menunjukkan tangan-Nya dan lambung-Nya kepada mereka. Murid-murid itu bersukacita ketika mereka melihat Tuhan. Maka kata Yesus sekali lagi: "Damai sejahtera bagi kamu! Sama seperti Bapa mengutus Aku, demikian juga sekarang Aku mengutus kamu." Dan sesudah berkata demikian, Ia mengembusi mereka dan berkata: "Terimalah Roh Kudus. Jikalau kamu mengampuni dosa orang, dosanya diampuni, dan jikalau kamu menyatakan dosa orang tetap ada, dosanya tetap ada." Tetapi Tomas, seorang dari kedua belas murid itu, yang disebut Didimus, tidak ada bersama-sama mereka, ketika Yesus datang ke situ. Maka kata murid-murid yang lain itu kepadanya: "Kami telah melihat Tuhan!" Tetapi Tomas berkata kepada mereka: "Sebelum aku melihat bekas paku pada tangan-Nya dan sebelum aku mencucukkan jariku ke dalam bekas paku itu dan mencucukkan tanganku ke dalam lambung-Nya, sekali-kali aku tidak akan percaya." Delapan hari kemudian murid-murid Yesus berada kembali dalam rumah itu dan Tomas bersama-sama dengan mereka. Sementara pintu-pintu terkunci, Yesus datang dan Ia berdiri di tengah-tengah mereka dan berkata: "Damai sejahtera bagi kamu!" Kemudian Ia berkata kepada Tomas: "Taruhlah jarimu di sini dan lihatlah tangan-Ku, ulurkanlah tanganmu dan cucukkan ke dalam lambung-Ku dan jangan engkau tidak percaya lagi, melainkan percayalah." Tomas menjawab Dia: "Ya Tuhanku dan Allahku!" Kata Yesus kepadanya: "Karena engkau telah melihat Aku, maka engkau percaya. Berbahagialah mereka yang tidak melihat, namun percaya." Memang masih banyak tanda lain yang dibuat Yesus di depan mata murid-murid-Nya, yang tidak tercatat dalam kitab ini, tetapi semua yang tercantum di sini telah dicatat, supaya kamu percaya, bahwa Yesuslah Mesias, Anak Allah, dan supaya kamu oleh imanmu memperoleh hidup dalam nama-Nya.

彼らは、使徒たちの教えをよく守り、聖餐式（パンと杯によりキリストの体と血の祝福にあずかる、キリスト教の礼典の一つ）や祈り会に加わっていました。だれもが心から神を恐れ敬うようになり、また、使徒たちは次々と奇跡を行いました。信者たちはみないっしょにいて、それぞれの持ち物を分け合い、必要がある人には、財産を売り払って与えました。毎日、神殿で礼拝をし、聖餐の時は、少人数に分かれてめいめいの家に集まり、心から喜びと感謝にあふれて食事を共にし、心から神を賛美しました。彼らは町中の人に好感をもたれ、神も、救われる人を毎日、仲間に加えてくださいました。
第二読み物（ペテロの手紙一第1章：第3詩–第9詩）
この読み物はペテロの第一手紙です。
主イエス・キリストの父なる神こそ、すべての賞賛を受けるにふさわしい方です。私たちは、神の測り知れないあわれみによって、新しく生まれ変わる特権を与えられ、神の家族の一員として迎えられたのです。そればかりか、キリストが死者の中から復活してくださったことにより、私たちは永遠のいのちの希望にあふれています。神はご自分の子どもたちのために、朽ちることも消えることもない資産を約束してくださいました。それはあなたがたのために天にたくわえられているのです。神の超自然的な力によって、あなたがたはまちがいなく守られ、やがて来る終わりの日に、用意されている救いをいただくのです。ですから、心から喜びなさい。今しばらくの間、地上での苦しい試練が続きますが、行く手にはすばらしい喜びが待っているからです。これらの試練は、あなたがたの信仰をテストするためにあるのです。それによって、信仰がどれほど強く純粋であるかを量られます。それはちょうど、金が火によって精錬され、不純物が取り除かれるのに似ています。しかも神にとっては、あなたがたの信仰は、金よりはるかに尊いものです。ですから、信仰が火のような試練のるつぼの中で鍛えられ、なお強くされるなら、あなたがたは、イエス・キリストが再び来られる日に、多くの賞賛と栄光と名誉とを受けることになるでしょう。あなたがたは、イエス・キリストを見たことがないのに愛しており、いま見ていないのに信じています。そして、天からの、ことばに表せない栄光に満ちた喜びに浸っているのです。これは信仰の結果である、たましいの救いを得ているからです。
福音書（ヨハネ第20章：第19詩–第31詩）

同じ日曜日の夕方のことです。弟子たちは、ユダヤ人を恐れて戸にしっかりかぎをかけ、肩を寄せ合うようにして集まっていました。その時、突然イエスが一同の中にお立ちになったのです。「平安があるように。」イエスはまず、こうあいさつされてから、手とわき腹をお見せになりました。主を見た弟子たちの喜びは、どれほどだったでしょう。イエスはもう一度言われました。「平安があるように。父がわたしをお遣わしになったように、わたしもあなたがたを遣わします。」そして一同に息を吹きかけ、また言われました。「聖霊を受けなさい。あなたがたが赦すなら、だれの罪も赦されます。あなたがたが赦さない罪は赦されません。」十二弟子の一人のトマスは、その時、その場に居合わせませんでした。それでみんなが、「ほんとうだ。主にお会いしたんだ」と口をすっぱくして話しましたが、本気にしません。頑としてこう言いはるばかりです。「主の御手に釘あとを見、この指をそこに差し入れ、この手を主のわき腹に差し入れてみなければ、信じない。」八日たちました。その日も、弟子たちは集まっていました。今度はトマスもいっしょです。戸にはかぎがかかっていましたが、突然、前の時と同じようにイエスが一同の中に立ち、「平安があるように」とあいさつなさいました。それからイエスは、トマスにおっしゃいました。「さあ、あなたの指をこの手に当ててみなさい。あなたの手をこのわき腹に差し入れてみなさい。いつまでも疑っていないで信じなさい。」「ああ、わが主、わが神よ！」感きわまって、トマスは叫びました。「わたしを見たから信じたのですか。しかし、見なくても信じる者は幸いです。」私がこの書に記した奇跡のほかにも、もっと多くの奇跡をイエスが行われるのを、弟子たちは見ました。しかし、これらのことを特に書いたのは、あなたがたがイエスは神の子キリストであると信じるため、またそう信じていのちを得るためです。

Erano assidui nell'ascoltare l'insegnamento degli apostoli e nell'unione fraterna, nella frazione del pane e nelle preghiere. Un senso di timore era in tutti e prodigi e segni avvenivano per opera degli apostoli. Tutti coloro che erano diventati credenti stavano insieme e tenevano ogni cosa in comune; chi aveva proprietà e sostanze le vendeva e ne faceva parte a tutti, secondo il bisogno di ciascuno. Ogni giorno tutti insieme frequentavano il tempio e spezzavano il pane a casa prendendo i pasti con letizia e semplicità di cuore, lodando Dio e godendo la simpatia di tutto il popolo.
Seconda lettura (1 Pietro 1: 3–9)
Una lettura della lettera di Pietro.
Sia benedetto Dio e Padre del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo; nella sua grande misericordia egli ci ha rigenerati, mediante la risurrezione di Gesù Cristo dai morti, per una speranza viva, per una eredità che non si corrompe, non si macchia e non marcisce. Essa è conservata nei cieli per voi, che dalla potenza di Dio siete custoditi mediante la fede, per la vostra salvezza, prossima a rivelarsi negli ultimi tempi. Perciò siete ricolmi di gioia, anche se ora dovete essere un pò afflitti da varie prove, perché il valore della vostra fede, molto più preziosa dell'oro, che, pur destinato a perire, tuttavia si prova col fuoco, torni a vostra lode, gloria e onore nella manifestazione di Gesù Cristo: voi lo amate, pur senza averlo visto; e ora senza vederlo credete in lui. Perciò esultate di gioia indicibile e gloriosa, mentre conseguite la mèta della vostra fede, cioè la salvezza delle anime.
Vangelo (Giovanni 20: 19–31)
Una lettura dal Santo Vangelo secondo San Giovanni.
La sera di quello stesso giorno, il primo dopo il sabato, mentre erano chiuse le porte del luogo dove si trovavano i discepoli per timore dei Giudei, venne Gesù, si fermò in mezzo a loro e disse: “Pace a voi!” Detto questo, mostrò loro le mani e il costato. E i discepoli gioirono al vedere il Signore. Gesù disse loro di nuovo: “Pace a voi! Come il Padre ha mandato me, anch'io mando voi.” Dopo aver detto questo, alitò su di loro e disse: “Ricevete lo Spirito Santo; a chi rimetterete i peccati saranno rimessi e a chi non li rimetterete, resteranno non rimessi.” Tommaso, uno dei Dodici, chiamato Dìdimo, non era con loro quando venne Gesù. Gli dissero allora gli altri discepoli: “Abbiamo visto il Signore!” Ma egli disse loro: “Se non vedo nelle sue mani il segno dei chiodi e non metto il dito nel posto dei chiodi e non metto la mia mano nel suo costato, non crederò.” Otto giorni dopo i discepoli erano di nuovo in casa e c'era con loro anche Tommaso. Venne Gesù, a porte chiuse, si fermò in mezzo a loro e disse: “Pace a voi!” Poi disse a Tommaso: “Metti qua il tuo dito e guarda le mie mani; stendi la tua mano, e mettila nel mio costato; e non essere più incredulo ma credente!” Rispose Tommaso: “Mio Signore e mio Dio!” Gesù gli disse: “Perché mi hai veduto, hai creduto: beati quelli che pur non avendo visto crederanno!” Molti altri segni fece Gesù in presenza dei suoi discepoli, ma non sono stati scritti in questo libro. Questi sono stati scritti, perché crediate che Gesù è il Cristo, il Figlio di Dio e perché, credendo, abbiate la vita nel suo nome.
