First reading (Acts 3: 13–15 and 17–19)
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles.
Peter said to the people: "The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus, whom you handed over and denied in Pilate's presence when he had decided to release him. You denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you. The author of life you put to death, but God raised him from the dead; of this we are witnesses. Now I know, brothers, that you acted out of ignorance, just as your leaders did; but God has thus brought to fulfillment what he had announced beforehand through the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ would suffer. Repent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away."
Second reading (1 John 2: 1–5a)
A reading from the first letter of Saint John.
My children, I am writing this to you so that you may not commit sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous one. He is expiation for our sins, and not for our sins only but for those of the whole world. The way we may be sure that we know him is to keep his commandments. Those who say, "I know him," but do not keep his commandments are liars, and the truth is not in them. But whoever keeps his word, the love of God is truly perfected in him.
Gospel (Luke 24: 35–48)

The two disciples recounted what had taken place on the way, and how Jesus was made known to them in the breaking of bread. While they were still speaking about this, he stood in their midst and said to them, "Peace be with you." But they were startled and terrified and thought that they were seeing a ghost. Then he said to them, "Why are you troubled? And why do questions arise in your hearts? Look at my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you can see I have." And as he said this, he showed them his hands and his feet. While they were still incredulous for joy and were amazed, he asked them, "Have you anything here to eat?" They gave him a piece of baked fish; he took it and ate it in front of them. He said to them, "These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the law of Moses and in the prophets and psalms must be fulfilled." Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. And he said to them, "Thus it is written that the Christ would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day and that repentance, for the forgiveness of sins, would be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things."

Peter stated this to the Israelites, "The God of Abraham, of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our ancestors has glorified his servant Jesus whom you handed over to death and denied before Pilate, when even Pilate had decided to release him. You rejected the Holy and Just One, and you insisted that a murderer be released to you. You killed the Master of life, but God raised him from the dead and we are witnesses to this. It is his Name, and faith in his Name, that has healed this man whom you see and recognize. The faith which comes through Jesus has given him wholeness in the presence of all of you. Yet I know that you acted out of ignorance, as did your leaders. God has fulfilled in this way what he had foretold through all the prophets, that his Messiah would suffer. Repent, then, and turn to God so that your sins may be wiped out.
Second reading (1 John 2: 1–5)
A reading from the first letter of Saint John.
My little children, I write to you that you may not sin. But if anyone sins, we have an intercessor with the Father, Jesus Christ, the Just One. He is the sacrificial victim for our sins and the sins of the whole world. How can we know that we know him? If we fulfill his commands. If you state, "I know him," but do not fulfill his commands, you are a liar and the truth is not in you. But you keep his word, God's love is made complete in you. This is how we know that we are in him.
Gospel (Luke 24: 35–48)

Then the two told what had happened on the road and how Jesus made himself known when he broke bread with them. As they went on talking about this, Jesus himself stood in their midst. And he stated to them, "Peace to you." In their panic and fright they thought they were seeing a ghost, but he stated to them, "Why are you upset and why do such ideas cross your mind? Look at my hands and feet and see that it is I myself. Touch me and see for yourselves that a ghost has no flesh and bones as I have." As he stated this, he showed his hands and feet. In their joy they did not dare to believe and were still astonished. So he stated to them, "Have you anything to eat?" and they gave him a piece of broiled fish. He took it and ate it before them. Then Jesus stated to them, "Remember the words I spoke to you when I was still with you: Everything written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms had to be fulfilled." Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. And he went on, "You see what was written: the Messiah had to suffer, and on the third day he rose from the dead. Then repentance and forgiveness in his name would be proclaimed to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. Now you shall be witness to this."

El Dios de Abraham, de Isaac y de Jacob, el Dios de nuestros padres, glorificó a su servidor Jesús, a quien ustedes entregaron, renegando de él delante de Pilato, cuando este había resuelto ponerlo en libertad. Ustedes renegaron del Santo y del Justo, y pidiendo como una gracia la liberación de un homicida, mataron al autor de la vida. Pero Dios lo resucitó de entre los muertos, de lo cual nosotros somos testigos. Ahora bien, hermanos, yo sé que ustedes obraron por ignorancia, lo mismo que sus jefes. Pero así, Dios cumplió lo que había anunciado por medio de todos los profetas: que su Mesías debía padecer. Por lo tanto, hagan penitencia y conviértanse, para que sus pecados sean perdonados.

Él es la víctima por nuestros pecados, y no sólo por los nuestros, sino por los del mundo entero. Vean cómo sabremos que lo conocemos: si cumplimos sus mandatos. Si alguien dice: "Yo lo conozco," pero no guarda sus mandatos, ése es un mentiroso y la verdad no está en él. En cambio, si uno guarda su palabra, el auténtico amor de Dios está en él. Y vean cómo conoceremos que estamos en él.

Tóquenme y fíjense bien que un espíritu no tiene carne ni huesos, como ustedes ven que yo tengo." Y dicho esto les mostró las manos y los pies. Y como no acababan de creerlo por su gran alegría y seguían maravillados, les dijo: "¿Tienen aquí algo que comer?" Ellos, entonces, le ofrecieron un pedazo de pescado asado y una porción de miel; lo tomó y lo comió delante ellos. Jesús les dijo: "Todo esto se lo había dicho cuando estaba todavía con ustedes; tenía que cumplirse todo lo que está escrito en la Ley de Moisés, en los Profetas y en los Salmos referente a mí." Entonces les abrió la mente para que entendieran las Escrituras. Les dijo: "Todo esto estaba escrito: los padecimientos del Mesías y su resurrección de entre los muertos al tercer día. Si Cristo ang handog sa ikapagpapatawad ng mga kasalanan, hindi lamang ang ating mga kasalanan, kundi maging ang kasalanan ng lahat ng tao. Nakakatiyak tayong nakikilala natin ang Diyos kung sinusunod natin ang kanyang mga utos. Ang nagsasabing, “Nakikilala ko siya,” ngunit hindi naman sumusunod sa kanyang mga utos ay sinungaling, at wala sa kanya ang katotohanan. Ngunit ang tumutupad sa salita ng Diyos ay umiibig nang wagas sa Diyos. Sa ganito, nalalaman natin na tayo'y talagang nasa kanya.

Allah Abraham, Ishak dan Yakub, Allah nenek moyang kita telah memuliakan Hamba-Nya, yaitu Yesus yang kamu serahkan dan tolak di depan Pilatus, walaupun Pilatus berpendapat, bahwa Ia harus dilepaskan. Tetapi kamu telah menolak Yang Kudus dan Benar, serta menghendaki seorang pembunuh sebagai hadiahmu. Demikianlah Ia, Pemimpin kepada hidup, telah kamu bunuh, tetapi Allah telah membangkitkan Dia dari antara orang mati; dan tentang hal itu kami adalah saksi. Hai saudara-saudara, aku tahu bahwa kamu telah berbuat demikian karena ketidaktahuan, sama seperti semua pemimpin kamu. Tetapi dengan jalan demikian Allah telah menggenapi apa yang telah difirmankan-Nya dahulu dengan perantaraan nabi-nabi-Nya, yaitu bahwa Mesias yang diutus-Nya harus menderita. Karena itu sadarlah dan bertobatlah, supaya dosamu dihapuskan.

Tetapi barangsiapa menuruti firman-Nya, di dalam orang itu sungguh sudah sempurna kasih Allah; dengan itulah kita ketahui, bahwa kita ada di dalam Dia.

Dan ketika mereka belum percaya karena girangnya dan masih heran, berkatalah Ia kepada mereka: "Adakah padamu makanan di sini?" Lalu mereka memberikan kepada-Nya sepotong ikan goreng. Ia mengambilnya dan memakannya di depan mata mereka. Ia berkata kepada mereka: "Inilah perkataan-Ku, yang telah Kukatakan kepadamu ketika Aku masih bersama-sama dengan kamu, yakni bahwa harus digenapi semua yang ada tertulis tentang Aku dalam kitab Taurat Musa dan kitab nabi-nabi dan kitab Mazmur." Lalu Ia membuka pikiran mereka, sehingga mereka mengerti Kitab Suci. Kata-Nya kepada mereka: "Ada tertulis demikian: Mesias harus menderita dan bangkit dari antara orang mati pada hari yang ketiga, dan lagi: dalam nama-Nya berita tentang pertobatan dan pengampunan dosa harus disampaikan kepada segala bangsa, mulai dari Yerusalem. Il Dio di Abramo, di Isacco e di Giacobbe, il Dio dei nostri padri ha glorificato il suo servo Gesù, che voi avete consegnato e rinnegato di fronte a Pilato, mentre egli aveva deciso di liberarlo; voi invece avete rinnegato il Santo e il Giusto, avete chiesto che vi fosse graziato un assassino e avete ucciso l'autore della vita. Ma Dio l'ha risuscitato dai morti e di questo noi siamo testimoni. Ora, fratelli, io so che voi avete agito per ignoranza, così come i vostri capi; Dio però ha adempiuto così ciò che aveva annunziato per bocca di tutti i profeti, che cioè il suo Cristo sarebbe morto. Pentitevi dunque e cambiate vita, perché siano cancellati i vostri peccati.
Seconda lettura (1 Giovanni 2: 1–5)
Una lettura della prima lettera di San Giovanni.
Figlioli miei, vi scrivo queste cose perché non pecchiate; ma se qualcuno ha peccato, abbiamo un avvocato presso il Padre: Gesù Cristo giusto. Egli è vittima di espiazione per i nostri peccati; non soltanto per i nostri, ma anche per quelli di tutto il mondo. Da questo sappiamo d'averlo conosciuto: se osserviamo i suoi comandamenti. Chi dice: “Lo conosco” e non osserva i suoi comandamenti, è bugiardo e la verità non è in lui; ma chi osserva la sua parola, in lui l'amore di Dio è veramente perfetto. Da questo conosciamo di essere in lui.
Vangelo (Luca 24: 35–48)

Ma egli disse: “Perché siete turbati, e perché sorgono dubbi nel vostro cuore? Guardate le mie mani e i miei piedi: sono proprio io! Toccatemi e guardate; un fantasma non ha carne e ossa come vedete che io ho.” Dicendo questo, mostrò loro le mani e i piedi. Ma poiché per la grande gioia ancora non credevano ed erano stupefatti, disse: “Avete qui qualche cosa da mangiare?” Gli offrirono una porzione di pesce arrostito; egli lo prese e lo mangiò davanti a loro. Poi disse: “Sono queste le parole che vi dicevo quando ero ancora con voi: bisogna che si compiano tutte le cose scritte su di me nella Legge di Mosè, nei Profeti e nei Salmi.” Allora aprì loro la mente all'intelligenza delle Scritture e disse: “Così sta scritto: il Cristo dovrà patire e risuscitare dai morti il terzo giorno e nel suo nome saranno predicati a tutte le genti la conversione e il perdono dei peccati, cominciando da Gerusalemme. この奇跡は、アブラハム、イサク、ヤコブの神様、つまり私たちの先祖の神様が、そのしもべイエスに栄光を与えるためになさったことです。その方を、あなたがたはピラトの面前で、はっきりと拒否しました。ピラトがあれほど釈放しようとしたにもかかわらず。このきよく正しい方を自由にしようと考えるどころか、反対に人殺しの男を釈放しろと要求したのです。こうして、とうとう、いのちの源である方を殺してしまいました。しかし神様は、この方を復活させてくださいました。ヨハネも私もこのことの証人です。あなたがたが処刑したあと、私たちは確かに、復活したこの方にお会いしたのです。愛する皆さん。あなたがたは何も知らなかったのでしょう。知らなかったからこそ、イエスをあんな目に会わせたのでしょう。それは、指導者たちにも言えることです。しかし神様は、実にこのことによって、メシヤは苦しめられるという預言を実現してくださったのです。ですから、すっかり心を入れ替えて、神に立ち返りなさい。そうすれば、神様は罪をきよめてくださいます。

私の子どもたちよ。私がこう言うのも、あなたがたにいつも罪から離れていてほしいからです。しかし、もし罪を犯したとしても、父なる神の前で弁護してくださるイエス・キリストがおられます。キリストはすべての点で正しく、神のお心に完全にかなった方です。そして、私たちの罪ばかりでなく、全世界の罪に対する神の怒りを一身に引き受け、神との関係を回復させてくださいました。私たちが神に属していることを、どうすれば確かめられるでしょう。それは、神の命令を守っているかどうかです。ある人が、「私はクリスチャンだ。キリストを知っている」と言っても、もしその人がキリストの命令に従っていなければ、うそをついているのです。キリストのみことばを実行している人は、ますます神を愛します。それによって、キリストにつながっている人であるかどうかがわかります。

そこで二人も、エマオへ行く途中イエスと出会ったことや、パンをちぎられた時にはっきりイエスだとわかったことなどを話しました。これらの話をしている時、突然イエスが現れ、みんなの真ん中に立たれたのです。彼らは幽霊を見ているのだと勘違いし、ぶるぶる震えました。「なぜそんなに驚くのですか。どうしてそんなに疑うのですか。さあ、この手を、この足を、よくごらんなさい。わたしにまちがいないでしょう。さあ、さわってみなさい。これでも幽霊でしょうか。幽霊だったら、体などないはずです。」イエスはそう言いながら、手を差し出して釘の跡を見せ、また、足の傷もお示しになりました。弟子たちは、うれしいけれども、まだ半信半疑です。心を決めかねて、ぼう然としていました。それでイエスは、「何か食べ物がありますか」とお尋ねになりました。焼き魚を一切れ差し上げると、イエスはみんなの見ている前で召し上がりました。イエスは言われました。「以前、いっしょにいた時、モーセや預言者の書いたこと、それに聖書の詩篇にあることは、必ずそのとおりになると話して聞かせたはずです。忘れてしまったのですか。」イエスが弟子たちの心の目を開いてくださったので、彼らはやっと理解しました。イエスは、さらに続けられました。「キリストは苦しめられ、殺され、そして三日目に復活することが、ずっと昔から記されていたのです。悔い改めてわたしのもとに立ち返る人は、だれでも罪が赦されます。この救いの知らせは、エルサレムから始まり、世界中に伝えられるのです。あなたがたはこのことの証人です。初めから何もかも見てきたのですから。
第一読み物（信徒言行録第3章：第13詩–第15詩と第17詩–第19詩）

アブラハムの神、イサクの神、ヤコブの神、わたしたちの先祖の神は、その僕イエスに栄光をお与えになりました。ところが、あなたがたはこのイエスを引き渡し、ピラトが釈放しようと決めていたのに、その面前でこの方を拒みました。聖なる正しい方を拒んで、人殺しの男を赦すように要求したのです。あなたがたは、命への導き手である方を殺してしまいましたが、神はこの方を死者の中から復活させてくださいました。わたしたちは、このことの証人です。ところで、兄弟たち、あなたがたがあんなことをしてしまったのは、指導者たちと同様に無知のためであったと、わたしには分かっています。しかし、神はすべての預言者の口を通して予告しておられたメシアの苦しみを、このようにして実現なさったのです。だから、自分の罪が消し去られるように、悔い改めて立ち帰りなさい。
第二読み物（ヨハネの手紙一第2章：第1詩：第5詩）
この読み物はヨハネによる手紙一です。
わたしの子たちよ、これらのことを書くのは、あなたがたが罪を犯さないようになるためです。たとえ罪を犯しても、御父のもとに弁護者、正しい方、イエス・キリストがおられます。この方こそ、わたしたちの罪、いや、わたしたちの罪ばかりでなく、全世界の罪を償ういけにえです。わたしたちは、神の掟を守るなら、それによって、神を知っていることが分かります。「神を知っている」と言いながら、神の掟を守らない者は、偽り者で、その人の内には真理はありません。しかし、神の言葉を守るなら、まことにその人の内には神の愛が実現しています。これによって、わたしたちが神の内にいることが分かります。
福音書（ルカ第24章：第35詩–第48詩）
この読み物はルカによる福音書です。
二人も、道で起こったことや、パンを裂いてくださったときにイエスだと分かった次第を話した。こういうことを話していると、イエス御自身が彼らの真ん中に立ち、「あなたがたに平和があるように」と言われた。彼らは恐れおののき、亡霊を見ているのだと思った。そこで、イエスは言われた。「なぜ、うろたえているのか。どうして心に疑いを起こすのか。わたしの手や足を見なさい。まさしくわたしだ。触ってよく見なさい。亡霊には肉も骨もないが、あなたがたに見えるとおり、わたしにはそれがある。」こう言って、イエスは手と足をお見せになった。彼らが喜びのあまりまだ信じられず、不思議がっているので、イエスは、「ここに何か食べ物があるか」と言われた。そこで、焼いた魚を一切れ差し出すと、イエスはそれを取って、彼らの前で食べられた。イエスは言われた。「わたしについてモーセの律法と預言者の書と詩編に書いてある事柄は、必ずすべて実現する。これこそ、まだあなたがたと一緒にいたころ、言っておいたことである。」そしてイエスは、聖書を悟らせるために彼らの心の目を開いて、言われた。「次のように書いてある。『メシアは苦しみを受け、三日目に死者の中から復活する。また、罪の赦しを得させる悔い改めが、その名によってあらゆる国の人々に宣べ伝えられる』と。エルサレムから始めて、あなたがたはこれらのことの証人となる。」
