7th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Date: February 19, 2012

First Reading (Isaiah 43: 18-19, 21-22, and 24b-25)
A reading from the book of the Prophet Isaiah.
Do not dwell on the past, or remember the things of old. Look, I am doing a new thing: now it springs forth. Do you not see? I am opening up a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. I have formed this people for myself; they will proclaim my praise. You have not called upon me, O Jacob, indeed you were tired of me, O Israel; instead you have burdened me with your sins and wearied me with your offenses. I it is, I am He who blots out your offenses for my own sake, and remembers your sin no more.

Second Reading (2 Corinthians 1: 18-22)
A reading from the second letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians.
Brothers and sisters: God knows that our dealing with you is not Yes and No, just as the Son of God, Jesus Christ, whom we — Silvanus, Timothy and I — preach to you, was not Yes and No; with him it was simply Yes. In him all the promises of God have come to be a Yes, and we also say in his name: Amen! Giving thanks to God. God himself has anointed us and strengthens us with you to serve Christ; he has marked us with his own seal in a first outpouring of the Spirit in our hearts.

Gospel (Mark 2: 1-12)
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Mark.
After some days, Jesus returned to Capernaum. As the news spread that he was at home, so many people gathered that there was no longer room even outside the door. While Jesus was preaching the Word to them, some people brought a paralyzed man to him. The four men who carried him could not approach closer to Jesus because of the crowd, so they opened the roof above the room where Jesus was, and through the hole, lowered the man on his mat. When Jesus saw the faith of these people, he stated to the paralytic, "My son, your sins are forgiven." Now, some teachers of the Law who were sitting there wondered within themselves, "How can he speak like this insulting God? Who can forgive sins except God?" At once Jesus knew through his spirit what they were thinking and asked, "Why do you wonder? Is it easier to say to this paralyzed man: 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say: 'Rise, take up your mat and walk?' But now you shall know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins." And he stated to the paralytic, "Stand up, take up your mat, and go home." He rose and in the sight of those people, he took up his mat and went out. The crowd were astonished and praised God saying, "We have never seen anything like this!"

  1. Hey people! Did you see the Valentine's video this Wednesday? It was extremely hilarious!

  2. Wow. Did Silver kiss Blaze? Well, that is completely unexpected.

    1. Yeah, Silver made his move before Shadow even had to accept that request from the fans. Shadow says it means nothing anymore.

  3. Looks like Sonic envisions himself with Princess Elise, how dreadful and repugnant for him. Hence, he blurts out that Amy should be his wife...

    1. Oh my wow. I could not tell whether Sonic is crying tears of joy or tears of misery.

    2. Hmm... Evidently, it seems that Sonic is crying tears of misery because he rather goes on his adventures as a solo hero (except when Tails is always beside him). But possibly, he is crying tears of joy for he surreptitiously adores Amy.

    3. Maybe. And Sonic had already planned who should be contributing to the wedding. We have Amy as the wife, Tails as his "hombre", Rouge as the wedding planner (of course he will have to provide fancy luxurious jewels for payment), and Cream as the flower girl. Now is that not cute? Splendid! Marvelous! Marvelous!

    4. Hmm. Indeed. This has got to be one bittersweet future of Sonic (for him, anyway). I envision the couples to be 100% compatible.

    5. I mean, hey. Sonic and Amy both got something in common. They have the same colored eyes and the same colored shoes. The design of the shoes are different, though, because Sonic has his shoe with red and the white strip going from instep (horizontally), while Amy has her shoe with red and the white strip going from heel to toes (vertically). Sonic also likes Amy's cooking.

    6. Yeah. The Sonamy fans are enjoying this while the Shadamy fans are like uninterested in this relationship.

    7. Yo Sean. Interested in the relationship?

    8. Like Cream, I would probably be happy for these couples. But, I just let events happen for themselves. Sometimes we have to anticipate the unexpected.

  8. Responsorial Psalm (Psalm 41) (Verses 2-5 and 12-13)
The response is: Lord, heal my soul, for I have sinned against you.

Blessed the one who has regard for the poor; the Lord delivers him in time of trouble. The Lord protects him, preserves his life, and gives him happiness in the land; he yields him not to the will of his foes.

The Lord helps him when he gets sick, and heals him of all his ailments. I have pleaded, "O Lord, have mercy on me; heal me, in spite of all my iniquity."

You uphold my integrity and let me stand in your presence forever. Praise the Lord, the God of Israel, from all eternity and forever! Amen. Amen!

Priest: Let us offer our personal intentions and also the intentions that have been stated at the beginning of the Mass to our God in silence. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

  12. As we celebrate your mysteries, O Lord, with the observance that is your due, we humbly ask you, that what we offer in the honor of your majesty may profit us for salvation. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. (or Through Christ our Lord.) Amen.

  13. It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God. For we know it belongs to your boundless glory, that you came to the aid of mortal beings with your divinity and even fashioned for us a remedy out of mortality itself, that the cause of our downfall might become the mans of our salvation, through Christ our Lord. Through him the host of Angels adores your majesty and rejoices in your presence forever. May our voices, we pray, join with theirs in one chorus of exultant praise, as we acclaim. (After this, you sing the Sanctus.)
