First Reading (Ezekiel 47: 1–2, 8–9 and 12)
A reading from the book of the prophet Ezekiel.
The man brought me back to the entrance of the temple and I saw water coming out from the threshold of the temple and flowing eastward. The temple faced the east and the water flowed from the south side of the temple, from the south side of the altar. He then brought me out through the north gate and led me around the outside, to the outer gate facing the east; and there I saw the stream coming from the south side. The man stated to me, "This was goes to the east, down to the Arabah, and when it flows into the sea of foul-smelling water, the water will become wholesome. Wherever the river flows, swarms of creatures will live in it; fish will be plentiful; and the seawater will become fresh. Wherever it flows, life will abound. Near the river on both banks, there will be all kinds of fruit trees, with foliage that will not wither; and fruit that will never fail; each month they will bear a fresh crop, because the water comes from the temple. The fruit will be good to eat and the leaves will be used for healing.
Second Reading (1 Corinthians 3: 9b–11 and 16–17)
A reading from the first letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians.
You are God's field and building. I, as a good architect, according to the capacity given to me, I laid the foundation, and another is to build upon it. Each one must be careful how to build upon it. No one can lay a foundation other than the one which is already laid, which is Jesus Christ. Do you not know that you are God's temple, and that God's Spirit abides within you? If anyone destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him. God's temple is holy, and you are his temple.
Gospel (John 2: 13–22)

As the Passover of the Jews was at hand, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the temple court he found merchants selling oxen, sheep and doves, and money-changers seated at their tables. Making a whip of cords, he drove them all our of the temple court, together with oxen and the sheep. He knocked over the tables of the money-changers, scattering the coins, and ordered the people selling doves, "Take all this away, and stop making a marketplace of my Father's house!" His disciples recalled the words of Scripture: Zeal for your house devours me like fire. The Jews then questioned Jesus, "Where are the miraculous signs which give you the right to do this?" And Jesus stated, "Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up." Then Jews then replied, "The building of this temple has already taken forty-six years, and will you raise it up in three days?" Actually, Jesus was referring to the temple of his body. Only when he had risen from the dead did his disciples remember these words; then they believed both the Scripture and the words Jesus had spoken.

Responsorial Psalm (Psalm 46) (Verses 2–3, 5–6 and 8–9)
ReplyDeleteThe response is: The waters of the river gladden the city of God, the holy dwelling of the Most High!
God is our strength and protection, and ever-present help in affliction. We will not fear, therefore, though the earth be shaken and the mountains plunge into the seas.
There is a river whose streams bring joy to the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within, the city cannot quake, for God's help is upon it at the break of day.
For with us is the Lord of hosts, the God of Jacob, our refuge. Come, see the works of the Lord — the marvelous things he has done in the world.

El hombre me hizo volver después a la entrada del templo. Entonces vi que por debajo de la puerta brotaba agua, y que corría hacia oriente, hacia donde estaba orientado el templo. El agua bajaba por el lado derecho del templo, al lado sur del altar. Luego me hizo salir del terreno del templo por la puerta norte, y me hizo dar la vuelta por fuera hasta la entrada exterior que miraba a oriente. Un pequeño chorro de agua brotaba por el lado sur de la entrada. Entonces me dijo: “Esta agua corre hacia la región oriental y llega hasta la cuenca del Jordán, de donde desembocará en el Mar Muerto. Cuando llegue allá, el agua del mar se volverá dulce. En cualquier parte a donde llegue esta corriente podrán vivir animales de todas clases y muchísimos peces. Porque el agua de este río convertirá el agua amarga en agua dulce, y habrá todo género de vida. En las dos orillas del río crecerá toda clase de árboles frutales. Sus hojas no caerán nunca ni dejarán de dar fruto jamás. Cada mes tendrán fruto, porque estarán regados con el agua que sale del templo. Los frutos servirán de alimento, y las hojas, de medicina.
Salmo responsorial (Salmo 46) (Versículos 2–3, 5–6 y 8–9)
La respuesta es: ¡Las aguas del río alegran la ciudad de Dios, la santa ciudad del Altísimo!
• Dios es nuestro refugio y nuestra fuerza; nuestra ayuda en momentos de angustia. Por eso no tendremos miedo aunque se deshaga la tierra, aunque se hundan los montes en el fondo del mar.
• Un río alegra con sus brazos la ciudad de Dios, la más santa de las ciudades del Altísimo. Dios está en medio de ella, y la sostendrá; Dios la ayudará al clarear el día.
• ¡El Señor todopoderoso está con nosotros! ¡Nuestro refugio es el Dios de Jacob! Vengan a ver las cosas sorprendentes que el Señor ha hecho en la tierra.
Segunda Lectura (1 corintios 3: 9B–11 y 16–17)

Ustedes son el campo que Dios trabaja, el edificio que Dios construye. Yo soy el maestro albañil al que Dios permitió poner los fundamentos, y otro es el que está construyendo sobre ellos. Pero cada uno debe tener cuidado de cómo construye, pues nadie puede poner otro fundamento que el que ya está puesto: Jesucristo. ¿Acaso no saben que son templo de Dios y que el Espíritu de Dios vive en ustedes? Si alguien destruye el templo de Dios, Dios le destruirá a él, porque el templo de Dios es santo. Ese templo son ustedes mismos.
Evangelio (Juan 2: 13–22)

Como se acercaba la fiesta de la Pascual de los judíos, Jesús fue a Jerusalén; y encontró en el templo a los vendedores de bueyes, ovejas y palomas, y a los que tenían puestos donde cambiar el dinero. Al ver aquello, Jesús hizo un látigo con unas cuerdas y los echó a todos del templo, junto con las ovejas y los bueyes. Arrojó al suelo las monedas de los cambistas y les volcó las mesas. A los vendedores de palomas les dijo: “¡Saquen eso de aquí! ¡No conviertan en un mercado la casa de mi Padre!” Sus discípulos recordaron entonces la Escritura que dice: “Me consumirá el celo por tu casa.” Los judíos le preguntaron: “¿Qué prueba nos das de que tienes autoridad para actuar así?” Jesús les contestó: “Destruyan este templo y en tres días lo levantaré.” Le dijeron los judíos: “Cuarenta y seis años tardaron en construir este templo, ¿y tú vas a levantarlo en tres días?” Pero el templo al que Jesús se refería era su propio cuerpo. Por eso, cuando resucitó, sus discípulos se acordaron de lo que había dicho y creyeron en la Escritura y en las palabras de Jesús.

Ia berkata kepadaku: "Sungai ini mengalir menuju wilayah timur, dan menurun ke Araba-Yordan, dan bermuara di Laut Asin, air yang mengandung banyak garam dan air itu menjadi tawar, sehingga ke mana saja sungai itu mengalir, segala makhluk hidup yang berkeriapan di sana akan hidup. Ikan-ikan akan menjadi sangat banyak, sebab ke mana saja air itu sampai, air laut di situ menjadi tawar dan ke mana saja sungai itu mengalir, semuanya di sana hidup. Pada kedua tepi sungai itu tumbuh bermacam-macam pohon buah-buahan, yang daunnya tidak layu dan buahnya tidak habis-habis; tiap bulan ada lagi buahnya yang baru, sebab pohon-pohon itu mendapat air dari tempat kudus itu. Buahnya menjadi makanan dan daunnya menjadi obat."
Mazmur (Mazmur 46) (Ayat 2–3, 5–6 dan 8–9)
Tanggapan adalah: Ada aliran sungai yang menggembirakan kota Allah, tempat kediaman Allah Yang Mahatinggi.
• Allah itu bagi kita tempat perlindungan dan kekuatan, sebagai penolong dalam kesesakan sangat terbukti. Sebab itu kita tidak akan takut, sekalipun bumi berubah, sekalipun gunung-gunung goncang di dalam laut.
• Kota Allah, kediaman Yang Mahatinggi, disukakan oleh aliran-aliran sebuah sungai. Allah ada di dalamnya, kota itu tidak akan goncang; Allah akan menolongnya menjelang pagi.
• TUHAN semesta alam menyertai kita, kota benteng kita ialah Allah Yakub. Pergilah, pandanglah pekerjaan TUHAN, yang mengadakan pemusnahan di bumi.
Bacaan Kedua (1 Korintus 3: 9B–11 dan 16–17)

Kamu adalah ladang Allah, bangunan Allah. Sesuai dengan kasih karunia Allah, yang dianugerahkan kepadaku, aku sebagai seorang ahli bangunan yang cakap telah meletakkan dasar, dan orang lain membangun terus di atasnya. Tetapi tiap-tiap orang harus memperhatikan, bagaimana ia harus membangun di atasnya. Karena tidak ada seorangpun yang dapat meletakkan dasar lain dari pada dasar yang telah diletakkan, yaitu Yesus Kristus. Tidak tahukah kamu, bahwa kamu adalah bait Allah dan bahwa Roh Allah diam di dalam kamu? Jika ada orang yang membinasakan bait Allah, maka Allah akan membinasakan dia. Sebab bait Allah adalah kudus dan bait Allah itu ialah kamu.

Ketika hari raya Paskah orang Yahudi sudah dekat, Yesus berangkat ke Yerusalem. Dalam Bait Suci didapati-Nya pedagang-pedagang lembu, kambing domba dan merpati, dan penukar-penukar uang duduk di situ. Ia membuat cambuk dari tali lalu mengusir mereka semua dari Bait Suci dengan semua kambing domba dan lembu mereka; uang penukar-penukar dihamburkan-Nya ke tanah dan meja-meja mereka dibalikkan-Nya. Kepada pedagang-pedagang merpati Ia berkata: "Ambil semuanya ini dari sini, jangan kamu membuat rumah Bapa-Ku menjadi tempat berjualan. Maka teringatlah murid-murid-Nya, bahwa ada tertulis: "Cinta untuk rumah-Mu menghanguskan Aku." Orang-orang Yahudi menantang Yesus, katanya: "Tanda apakah dapat Engkau tunjukkan kepada kami, bahwa Engkau berhak bertindak demikian?" Jawab Yesus kepada mereka: "Rombak Bait Allah ini, dan dalam tiga hari Aku akan mendirikannya kembali." Lalu kata orang Yahudi kepada-Nya: "Empat puluh enam tahun orang mendirikan Bait Allah ini dan Engkau dapat membangunnya dalam tiga hari?" Tetapi yang dimaksudkan-Nya dengan Bait Allah ialah tubuh-Nya sendiri. Kemudian, sesudah Ia bangkit dari antara orang mati, barulah teringat oleh murid-murid-Nya bahwa hal itu telah dikatakan-Nya, dan merekapun percayalah akan Kitab Suci dan akan perkataan yang telah diucapkan Yesus.

Bumalik kami sa pintuan ng templo. Sa ilalim nito'y may agos ng tubig papunta sa silangan. Ang templo'y paharap sa silangan. Ang agos ay nagmumula sa gawing timog na bahagi ng templo, sa gawing timog ng altar. Lumabas kami sa pintuan sa gawing hilaga at iniligid niya ako papalabas sa pintuan sa gawing silangan. Doon ay may mahinang agos ng tubig mula sa gawing timog ng hagdanan. Sinabi niya sa akin, "Ang tubig na ito ay papunta sa dakong silangan, hanggang Dagat na Patay. Pag-abot nito sa Dagat na Patay, malilinis ang tubig nito. Lahat ng lugar na maagusan nito ay magkakaroon ng lahat ng uri ng hayop at isda. Pagdating ng agos nito sa Dagat na Patay, magiging tabang ang tubig ng dagat. Lahat ng lugar na abutin nito ay magkakaroon ng buhay. Sa magkabilang pampang ng ilog ay tutubo ang sari-saring punongkahoy na makakain ang bunga. Hindi malalanta ang mga dahon nito ni mawawalan ng bunga sapagkat ang didilig dito ay ang tubig na umaagos mula sa templo; ito ay patuloy na mamumunga sa buong taon. Ang bunga nito ay pagkain, at gamot naman ang mga dahon."
Pangalawang pagbabasa (1 Corintio 3: 9B–11 at 16–17)

Kayo rin ay gusali ng Diyos. Ayon sa kagandahang-loob ng Diyos sa akin, inilagay ko ang pundasyon, tulad ng isang mahusay na tagapagtayo. Iba naman ang nagpapatuloy sa pagtatayo ng gusali. Ngunit dapat maging maingat ang bawat nagtatayo, sapagkat wala nang ibang pundasyong maaaring ilagay maliban sa nailagay na, walang iba kundi si Jesu-Cristo. Hindi ba ninyo alam na kayo'y templo ng Diyos at naninirahan sa inyo ang kanyang Espiritu? Paparusahan ng Diyos ang sinumang magwasak ng templo niya. Sapagkat banal ang templo ng Diyos, at kayo ang templong iyan.

Malapit na ang Paskwa ng mga Judio kaya't pumunta si Jesus sa Jerusalem. Nakita niya sa Templo ang mga nagtitinda ng mga baka, tupa at kalapati, at ang mga namamalit ng salapi. Kumuha siya ng lubid at ginawa iyong panghagupit, at ipinagtabuyan niyang palabas ang mga nagtitinda, pati na ang mga baka at tupa. Isinabog niya ang salapi ng mga namamalit ng pera at ipinagtataob ang kanilang mga mesa. Pinagsabihan niya ang mga nagtitinda ng kalapati, “Alisin ninyo rito ang mga iyan! Huwag ninyong gawing palengke ang bahay ng aking Ama!” Naalala ng kanyang mga alagad ang sinasabi sa kasulatan, “Ang malasakit ko sa iyong tahanan, matinding-matindi sa aking kalooban.” Dahil dito'y tinanong siya ng mga pinuno ng Judio, “Anong himala ang maipapakita mo upang patunayang may karapatan kang gawin ito?” Sumagot si Jesus, “Gibain ninyo ang Templong ito, at sa loob ng tatlong araw ay muli ko itong itatayo.” Sinabi ng mga pinuno ng Judio, “Apatnapu't anim na taong ginawa ang Templong ito, at itatayo mo sa loob lamang ng tatlong araw?” Ngunit ang templong tinutukoy ni Jesus ay ang kanyang katawan. Kaya't nang siya'y muling mabuhay, naalala ng kanyang mga alagad na sinabi niya ito, at lalo silang naniwala sa kasulatan at sa mga itinuro ni Jesus.
