First Reading (2 Samuel 5: 1–3)
A reading from the second book of Samuel.
All the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and stated, "We are your bone and flesh. In the past, when Saul was king over us, it was you who led Israel. And the Lord stated to you, 'You shall be the shepherd of my people Israel and you shall be commander over Israel.'" Before the Lord, King David made a compromise with the elders of Israel who came to him at Hebron, and they anointed him king of Israel.
Second Reading (Colossians 1: 12–20)
A reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Colossians.
Constantly give thanks to the Father who has empowered us to receive our share in the inheritance of the saints in his kingdom of light. He rescued us from the power of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son. In him we are redeemed and forgiven. He is the image of the unseen God, and for all creation he is the first-born, for in him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible: thrones, rulers, authorities, powers... All was made through him and for him. He is before all and all things hold together in him. And he is the head of the body, that is the Church, for he is the first, the first raised from the dead that he may be the first in everything, for God was pleased to let fullness dwell in him. Through him God willed to reconcile all things to himself, and through him, through his blood shed on the cross, God establishes peace, on earth as in heaven.
Gospel (Luke 23: 35–43)
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke.
The people stood by watching at the three crucified people on the cross. Jesus was hanging at the center, and two other criminals hanging at the sides of Jesus. As for the rulers, they jeered at him, saying to one another, "Let the man who saved others now save himself, for he is the Messiah, the chosen one of God!" The soldiers also mocked him and when they drew near to offer him bitter wine, they stated, "So you are the king of the Jews? Free yourself!" For above him was an inscription which read, "This is the King of the Jews." One of the criminals hanging with Jesus insulted him, "So you are the Messiah? Save yourself and us as well!" But the other rebuked him, saying, "Have you no fear of God, you who received the same sentence as he did? For us it is just: this is payment for what we have done. But this man has done nothing wrong." And he stated, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." Jesus replied, "Truly, you will be with me today in paradise."

Responsorial Psalm (Psalm 122) (Verses 1–5)

I rejoiced with those who stated to me, "Let us go to the house of the Lord!" And now we have set foot within your gates, O Jerusalem!
Jerusalem, just like a city, where everything falls into place! There the tribes go up, who are the tribes of the Lord.
The assembly of Israel compromised on a decree, to give thanks to the Lord's name. There stand the courts of justice, the offices of the house of David.

Todas las tribus de Israel se congregaron en torno a David en Hebrón y le dijeron: “Somos de tus mismos huesos y de tu misma carne. Ya antes, cuando Saúl era todavía nuestro rey, tú eras el que conducía a Israel. Yahvé bien te dijo: Tú serás el pastor de mi pueblo Israel, tú serás el jefe de Israel.” Todos los ancianos de Israel fueron a Hebrón a ver al rey y el rey David firmó con ellos una alianza en Hebrón en presencia de Yahvé. Después de lo cual consagraron a David como rey de Israel.
Salmo responsorial (Salmo 122) (Versículos 1–5)
La respuesta es: Vamos a alabar a la casa del Dios.
• ¡Qué alegría cuando me dijeron: “Vamos a la Casa del Señor!” Nuestros pies ya están pisando tus umbrales, Jerusalén.
• Jerusalén, que fuiste construida como ciudad bien compacta y armoniosa. Allí suben las tribus, las tribus del Señor.
• La multitud de Israel comprometió en una norma para celebrar el nombre del Señor. Porque allí está el trono de la justicia, el trono de la casa de David.
Segunda Lectura (Colosenses 1: 12–20)
Una lectura de la carta de San Pablo a los Colosenses.
Darán gracias con alegría al Padre, que nos ha hecho dignos de participar de la herencia luminosa de los santos. Porque él nos libró del poder de las tinieblas y nos hizo entrar en el Reino de su Hijo muy querido, en quien tenemos la redención y el perdón de los pecados. Él es la Imagen del Dios invisible, el Primogénito de toda la creación, porque en él fueron creadas todas las cosas, tanto en el cielo como en la tierra los seres visibles y los invisibles, Tronos, Dominaciones, Principados y Potestades: todo fue creado por medio de él y para él. Él existe antes que todas las cosas y todo subsiste en él. Él es también la Cabeza del Cuerpo, es decir, de la Iglesia. Él es el Principio, el Primero que resucitó de entre los muertos, a fin de que él tuviera la primacía en todo, porque Dios quiso que en él residiera toda la Plenitud. Por él quiso reconciliar consigo todo lo que existe en la tierra y en el cielo, restableciendo la paz por la sangre de su cruz.
Evangelio (Lucas 23: 35–43)

La gente estaba allí mirando; los jefes, por su parte, se burlaban diciendo: “Si salvó a otros, que se salve a sí mismo, ya que es el Mesías de Dios, el Elegido.” También los soldados se burlaban de él. Le ofrecieron vino agridulce diciendo: “Si tú eres el rey de los judíos, sálvate a ti mismo.” Porque había sobre la cruz un letrero que decía: “Este es el rey de los judíos.” Uno de los malhechores que estaban crucificados con Jesús lo insultaba: “¿No eres tú el Mesías? ¡Sálvate a ti mismo y también a nosotros!” Pero el otro lo reprendió diciendo: “¿No temes a Dios tú, que estás en el mismo suplicio? Nosotros lo hemos merecido y pagamos por lo que hemos hecho, pero éste no ha hecho nada malo.” Y añadió: “Jesús, acuérdate de mí cuando entres en tu Reino.” Jesús le respondió: “En verdad te digo que hoy mismo estarás conmigo en el paraíso.”

Nagkaisa ang lahat ng lipi ng Israel na pumunta sa Hebron upang makipagkita kay David. Sinabi nila, “Kami'y laman ng iyong laman at dugo ng iyong dugo. Nang si Saul pa ang hari namin, pinangunahan mo ang mga kawal ng Israel sa pakikipagdigma. Ipinangako sa iyo ni Yahweh na ikaw ang magiging pastor ng Israel at ikaw ang mamumuno sa kanyang bayan.” Lahat ng pinuno ng Israel ay nagpunta nga sa Hebron at doo'y nakipagkasundo sa kanya sa harapan ni Yahweh. Binuhusan nila ng langis si David at kinilalang hari sa Israel.

Iligtas mo ang iyong sarili at pati na rin kami.” Ngunit pinagsabihan naman ito ng kanyang kasama, “Wala ka na bang takot sa Diyos? Ikaw ay pinaparusahan ding tulad niya! Tama lamang na tayo'y parusahan nang ganito dahil sa ating mga ginawa; ngunit ang taong ito'y walang ginawang masama.” At sinabi pa nito, “Jesus, alalahanin mo ako kapag naghahari ka na.” Sumagot si Jesus, “Sinasabi ko sa iyo, isasama kita ngayon sa Paraiso.”

イスラエルの全部族の代表者たちは、ヘブロンにいるダビデのもとに来て言いました。「私たちは、あなたと血を分けた兄弟です。サウルが王であった時にも、ほんとうの指導者はあなたでした。主は、あなたこそイスラエルの指導者だとおっしゃっています。」ダビデは、ヘブロンに集まったイスラエルの指導者たちと主の前で契約を結び、彼らはダビデをイスラエルの王としました。

また、光の国にすばらしい場所を備え、私たちをそこに住むにふさわしい者としてくださった父なる神に、いつも感謝できますように。神は私たちを、サタンの支配する暗黒から救い出して、愛するひとり子キリストのご支配のもとに移してくださいました。この神の子は、ご自分の血という代価を払って、私たちを買い取ってくださり、すべての罪を赦してくださったのです。キリストは、目には見えない神のかたちであり、神がすべてのものをお造りになる前からおられました。事実、キリストはすべてのものの創造者なのです。天にあるものも地にあるものも、目に見えるものも見えないものも、霊の世界の王座も主権も支配も権威もすべて、この方がご自身の目的と栄光のために造られたのです。キリストは他のすべてのものに先立って存在し、すべてのものは、キリストによって成り立っています。ですからキリストは、ご自分に属する人々からなる体〔すなわち教会〕のかしらです。キリストは、だれよりも先に死者の中から復活された方です。こうしてキリストが、あらゆる点で第一の地位を占めておられるのです。神は、ご自分のすべてが御子の中に宿ることを望み、キリストの十字架の血によって、天と地のすべてのものが神のもとに行く道を開いてくださいました。神の子キリストが十字架の上で死なれたことにより、すべてのものが、神との平和な関係を持つに至ったのです。
福音書（ルカ23章：35詩から43詩）

民衆はそばに立ってながめていました。一方、ユダヤ人の指導者たちもイエスをあざけり、「他人ばかり助けて、このざまは何だ。ほんとうに神に選ばれたメシヤなら、自分を救ってみろ！」と言いました。兵士たちは、酸っぱいぶどう酒を差し出しながら、「ユダヤ人の王様なら、自分を救ったらどうだ！」とからかいました。十字架のイエスの頭上には、「これはユダヤ人の王」と書いた罪状書きが掲げてありました。イエスの横で十字架につけられていた犯罪人の一人が、「あんたはメシヤなんだってなあ。だったら、自分とおれたちを救ってもよさそうなもんだ。どうなんだ」とののしりました。しかし、もう一人の犯罪人は、それをたしなめました。「この期に及んで、まだ神を恐れないのか！おれたちは悪事を働いたんだから、報いを受けるのはあたりまえだ。だが、このお方は悪いことは何もしなかったのだ。」そして、イエスにこう頼みました。「イエス様。御国に入る時、どうぞ私を思い出してください。」イエスはお答えになりました。「あなたは今日、わたしといっしょにパラダイス（天国）に入ります。」
