First reading (Acts 4: 8–12)
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles.
Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said: "Leaders of the people and elders: If we are being examined today about a good deed done to a cripple, namely, by what means he was saved, then all of you and all the people of Israel should know that it was in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead; in his name this man stands before you healed. He is the stone rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. There is no salvation through anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to the human race by which we are to be saved."
Second reading (1 John 3: 1–2)
A reading from the first letter of Saint John.
Beloved: See what love the Father has bestowed on us that we may be called the children of God. Yet so we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God's children now; what we shall be has not yet been revealed. We do know that when it is revealed we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
Gospel (John 10: 11–18)

Jesus said: "I am the good shepherd. A good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. A hired man, who is not a shepherd and whose sheep are not his own, sees a wolf coming and leaves the sheep and runs away, and the wolf catches and scatters them. This is because he works for pay and has no concern for the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and I know mine and mine know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I will lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold. These also I must lead, and they will hear my voice, and there will be one flock, one shepherd. This is why the Father loves me, because I lay down my life in order to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down on my own. I have power to lay it down, and power to take it up again. This command I have received from my Father."

Gospel (John 10: 11–18)

Jesus stated this to the Pharisees, "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives his life for the sheep. Not so the hired hand or any other person who is not the shepherd and to whom the sheep do not belong. They abandon the sheep as soon as they see the wolf coming; then the wolf snatches and scatters the sheep. This is because the hired hand works for pay and cares nothing for the sheep. I am the good shepherd. I know my own my own know me, as the Father knows me and I know the Father. Because of this I give my life for my sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this fold. These I have to lead as well, and they shall listen to my voice. Then there will be one flock since there is one Shepherd. The Father loves me because I lay down my life in order to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down freely. It is mine to lay down and to take up again: this mission I received from my Father."

I thank you for having answered me, for having rescued me. The stone rejected by the builders has become the cornerstone. This was the Lord's doing and we marvel at it.
Blessed is he who comes in the Lord's name! We bless you from the house of the Lord. You are my God, and I give you thanks. You are my God, and I give you praise. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his steadfast love endures forever!

Miren cuánto nos ama el Padre, que se nos llama hijos de Dios, y lo somos. Por eso, los que son del mundo no nos conocen, pues no han conocido a Dios. Queridos hermanos, ya somos hijos de Dios. Y aunque aún no se ha manifestado lo que seremos después, sabemos que cuando Jesucristo aparezca seremos como él, porque le veremos tal como es.
Evangelio (Juan 10: 11–18)

Jesús les dijo a sus discípulos: “Yo soy el buen pastor. El buen pastor da su vida por las ovejas; pero el que trabaja solamente por el salario, cuando ve venir al lobo deja las ovejas y huye, porque no es el pastor ni son suyas las ovejas. Entonces el lobo ataca a las ovejas y las dispersa en todas direcciones. Ese hombre huye porque lo único que le importa es el salario, no las ovejas. Yo soy el buen pastor. Como mi Padre me conoce y yo conozco a mi Padre, así conozco a mis ovejas y ellas me conocen a mí. Yo doy mi vida por las ovejas. También tengo otras ovejas que no son de este redil, y también a ellas debo traer. Ellas me obedecerán, y habrá un solo rebaño y un solo pastor. “El Padre me ama porque yo doy mi vida para volverla a recibir. Nadie me quita la vida, sino que la doy por mi propia voluntad. Tengo el derecho de darla y de volverla a recibir. Esto es lo que me ordenó mi Padre.”

Lihatlah, betapa besarnya kasih yang dikaruniakan Bapa kepada kita, sehingga kita disebut anak-anak Allah, dan memang kita adalah anak-anak Allah. Karena itu dunia tidak mengenal kita, sebab dunia tidak mengenal Dia. Saudara-saudaraku yang kekasih, sekarang kita adalah anak-anak Allah, tetapi belum nyata apa keadaan kita kelak; akan tetapi kita tahu, bahwa apabila Kristus menyatakan diri-Nya, kita akan menjadi sama seperti Dia, sebab kita akan melihat Dia dalam keadaan-Nya yang sebenarnya.

Ia lari karena ia seorang upahan dan tidak memperhatikan domba-domba itu. Akulah gembala yang baik dan Aku mengenal domba-domba-Ku dan domba-domba-Ku mengenal Aku sama seperti Bapa mengenal Aku dan Aku mengenal Bapa, dan Aku memberikan nyawa-Ku bagi domba-domba-Ku. Ada lagi pada-Ku domba-domba lain, yang bukan dari kandang ini; domba-domba itu harus Kutuntun juga dan mereka akan mendengarkan suara-Ku dan mereka akan menjadi satu kawanan dengan satu gembala. Allora Pietro, pieno di Spirito Santo, disse loro: "Capi del popolo e anziani, visto che oggi veniamo interrogati sul beneficio recato ad un uomo infermo e in qual modo egli abbia ottenuto la salute, la cosa sia nota a tutti voi e a tutto il popolo d'Israele: nel nome di Gesù Cristo il Nazareno, che voi avete crocifisso e che Dio ha risuscitato dai morti, costui vi sta innanzi sano e salvo. Questo Gesù è la pietra che, scartata da voi, costruttori, è diventata testata d'angolo. In nessun altro c'è salvezza; non vi è infatti altro nome dato agli uomini sotto il cielo nel quale è stabilito che possiamo essere salvati."

Quale grande amore ci ha dato il Padre per essere chiamati figli di Dio, e lo siamo realmente! La ragione per cui il mondo non ci conosce è perché non ha conosciuto lui. Carissimi, noi fin d'ora siamo figli di Dio, ma ciò che saremo non è stato ancora rivelato. Sappiamo però che quando egli si sarà manifestato, noi saremo simili a lui, perché lo vedremo così come egli è.
Vangelo (Giovanni 10: 11–18)

"Io sono il buon pastore. Il buon pastore offre la vita per le pecore. Il mercenario invece, che non è pastore e al quale le pecore non appartengono, vede venire il lupo, abbandona le pecore e fugge e il lupo le rapisce e le disperde; egli è un mercenario e non gli importa delle pecore. Io sono il buon pastore, conosco le mie pecore e le mie pecore conoscono me, come il Padre conosce me e io conosco il Padre; e offro la vita per le pecore. E ho altre pecore che non sono di quest'ovile; anche queste io devo condurre; ascolteranno la mia voce e diventeranno un solo gregge e un solo pastore. Nessuno me la toglie, ma la offro da me stesso, poiché ho il potere di offrirla e il potere di riprenderla di nuovo. Questo comando ho ricevuto dal Padre mio."

天の父は、どんなに私たちを愛しておられることでしょう。私たちを、ご自分の子供として受け入れてくださったほどです。考えてもごらんなさい。神の子供とされたのです。ところが、神を知らない多くの人は、当然、私たちが神の子供であることを理解できません。愛する人たち。私たちは、もうすでに神の子供なのです。これから先のことは想像もつきませんが、ただこの一事だけはわかっています。つまり、キリストが再び来られる時、私たちはキリストに似た者となるということです。その時、キリストのありのままの姿を見るからです。

御父がどれほどわたしたちを愛してくださるか、考えなさい。それは、わたしたちが神の子と呼ばれるほどで、事実また、そのとおりです。世がわたしたちを知らないのは、御父を知らなかったからです。愛する者たち、わたしたちは、今既に神の子ですが、自分がどのようになるかは、まだ示されていません。しかし、御子が現れるとき、御子に似た者となるということを知っています。なぜなら、そのとき御子をありのままに見るからです。
福音書（ヨハネ第10章：第11詩–第18詩）
この読み物はヨハネによる福音書です。
「わたしは良い羊飼いである。良い羊飼いは羊のために命を捨てる。羊飼いでなく、自分の羊を持たない雇い人は、狼が来るのを見ると、羊を置き去りにして逃げる。――狼は羊を奪い、また追い散らす。――彼は雇い人で、羊のことを心にかけていないからである。わたしは良い羊飼いである。わたしは自分の羊を知っており、羊もわたしを知っている。それは、父がわたしを知っておられ、わたしが父を知っているのと同じである。わたしは羊のために命を捨てる。わたしには、この囲いに入っていないほかの羊もいる。その羊をも導かなければならない。その羊もわたしの声を聞き分ける。こうして、羊は一人の羊飼いに導かれ、一つの群れになる。わたしは命を、再び受けるために、捨てる。それゆえ、父はわたしを愛してくださる。だれもわたしから命を奪い取ることはできない。わたしは自分でそれを捨てる。わたしは命を捨てることもでき、それを再び受けることもできる。これは、わたしが父から受けた掟である。」
