New American Bible readings
First reading (Acts 9: 26–31)
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles.
When Saul arrived in Jerusalem he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple. Then Barnabas took charge of him and brought him to the apostles, and he reported to them how he had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had spoken out boldly in the name of Jesus. He moved about freely with them in Jerusalem, and spoke out boldly in the name of the Lord. He also spoke and debated with the Hellenists, but they tried to kill him. And when the brothers learned of this, they took him down to Caesarea and sent him on his way to Tarsus. The church throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria was at peace. It was being built up and walked in the fear of the Lord, and with the consolation of the Holy Spirit, it grew in numbers.
Second reading (1 John 3: 18–24)

Children, let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth. Now this is how we shall know that we belong to the truth and reassure our hearts before him in whatever our hearts condemn, for God is greater than our hearts and knows everything. Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence in God and receive from him whatever we ask, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him. And his commandment is this: we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another just as he commanded us. Those who keep his commandments remain in him, and he in them, and the way we know that he remains in us is from the Spirit he gave us.

Saulo, al llegar a Jerusalén, quiso reunirse con los creyentes; pero todos le tenían miedo porque no creían que también él fuera creyente. Sin embargo, Bernabé le llevó y les presentó a los apóstoles. Les contó que Saulo había visto al Señor en el camino, que el Señor le había hablado y que, en Damasco, Saulo había anunciado a Jesús con toda valentía. Así Saulo se quedó en Jerusalén y andaba con ellos hablando del Señor sin miedo alguno. Conversaba y discutía con los judíos que hablaban griego, pero estos trataban de matarlo. Cuando los hermanos se dieron cuenta de ello, llevaron a Saulo a Cesárea, y de allí le enviaron a Tarso. Entonces la iglesia, en todas las regiones de Judea, Galilea y Samaria, tenía paz y crecía espiritualmente. Vivía en el temor del Señor, y con la ayuda del Espíritu Santo iba aumentando en número.

Queridos hermanos, si nuestro corazón no nos acusa, tenemos confianza delante de Dios y él nos dará todo lo que le pidamos, porque obedecemos sus mandamientos y hacemos lo que le agrada. Y su mandamiento es que creamos en su Hijo Jesucristo y que nos amemos unos a otros como él nos mandó. Los que obedecen sus mandamientos viven en él, y él vive en ellos. Y en esto sabemos que él vive en nosotros: por el Espíritu que nos ha dado.
Evangelio (Juan 15: 1–8)

De igual manera, ustedes no pueden dar fruto si no permanecen unidos a mí. “Yo soy la vid y ustedes son los sarmientos. El que permanece unido a mí y yo unido a él, da mucho fruto; pues sin mí nada pueden hacer. Setibanya di Yerusalem Saulus mencoba menggabungkan diri kepada murid-murid, tetapi semuanya takut kepadanya, karena mereka tidak dapat percaya, bahwa ia juga seorang murid. Tetapi Barnabas menerima dia dan membawanya kepada rasul-rasul dan menceriterakan kepada mereka, bagaimana Saulus melihat Tuhan di tengah jalan dan bahwa Tuhan berbicara dengan dia dan bagaimana keberaniannya mengajar di Damsyik dalam nama Yesus. Dan Saulus tetap bersama-sama dengan mereka di Yerusalem, dan dengan keberanian mengajar dalam nama Tuhan. Ia juga berbicara dan bersoal jawab dengan orang-orang Yahudi yang berbahasa Yunani, tetapi mereka itu berusaha membunuh dia. Akan tetapi setelah hal itu diketahui oleh saudara-saudara anggota jemaat, mereka membawa dia ke Kaisarea dan dari situ membantu dia ke Tarsus. Tanggapan adalah: Aku akan memuji Engkau, Tuhan, dalam jemaah yang besar.
• Karena Engkau aku memuji-muji dalam jemaah yang besar; nazarku akan kubayar di depan mereka yang takut akan Dia. Orang yang rendah hati akan makan dan kenyang, orang yang mencari TUHAN akan memuji-muji Dia; biarlah hatimu hidup untuk selamanya!
• Segala ujung bumi akan mengingatnya dan berbalik kepada TUHAN; dan segala kaum dari bangsa-bangsa akan sujud menyembah di hadapan-Nya.
• Ya, kepada-Nya akan sujud menyembah semua orang sombong di bumi, di hadapan-Nya akan berlutut semua orang yang turun ke dalam debu, dan orang yang tidak dapat menyambung hidup.

Demikian pula kita boleh menenangkan hati kita di hadapan Allah, sebab jika kita dituduh olehnya, Allah adalah lebih besar dari pada hati kita serta mengetahui segala sesuatu. Saudara-saudaraku yang kekasih, jikalau hati kita tidak menuduh kita, maka kita mempunyai keberanian percaya untuk mendekati Allah, dan apa saja yang kita minta, kita memperolehnya dari pada-Nya, karena kita menuruti segala perintah-Nya dan berbuat apa yang berkenan kepada-Nya. Pagdating ni Saulo sa Jerusalem, sinikap niyang mapabilang sa mga alagad doon. Ngunit sila'y natatakot sa kanya dahil hindi sila makapaniwalang isa na siyang alagad. Subalit isinama siya ni Bernabe sa mga apostol at isinalaysay nito sa kanila kung paano nagpakita at nakipag-usap ang Panginoon kay Saulo nang ito'y nasa daan papunta sa Damasco. Sinabi rin ni Bernabe na buong tapang na nangaral sa Damasco si Saulo sa kapangyarihan ng pangalan ni Jesus. Kaya mula noon, si Saulo'y kasakasama nila sa buong Jerusalem, at buong tapang na nangangaral doon sa pangalan ng Panginoon. Nakipag-usap din siya at nakipagtalo sa mga Helenista, kaya't tinangka nilang patayin siya. Nalaman ito ng mga kapatid kaya't inihatid nila si Saulo sa Cesarea at pinauwi sa Tarso. Kaya't ang iglesya sa buong Judea, Galilea at Samaria ay naging mapayapa at patuloy na nagpupuri sa Panginoon. Sa tulong at sa pakikisama ng Espiritu Santo, tumatag at dumami ang mga mananampalataya.

Sapagkat ang Diyos ay higit sa ating budhi, at alam niya ang lahat ng bagay. Mga minamahal, kung hindi tayo inuusig ng ating budhi, makakalapit tayo sa Diyos na panatag ang ating kalooban. Tinatanggap natin ang anumang ating hilingin sa kanya dahil sinusunod natin ang kanyang mga utos at ginagawa ang nakalulugod sa kanya. Ito ang kanyang utos: sumampalataya tayo sa kanyang Anak na si Jesu-Cristo, at magmahalan tayo gaya ng iniutos ni Cristo sa atin. Ang sumusunod sa mga utos ng Diyos ay nananatili sa Diyos, at nananatili naman sa kanya ang Diyos. At nalalaman nating nananatili siya sa atin sa pamamagitan ng Espiritung ipinagkaloob niya sa atin.

Gayundin naman, hindi kayo magbubunga kung hindi kayo mananatili sa akin. Ako nga ang puno ng ubas at kayo ang mga sanga. Ang nananatili sa akin, at ako sa kanya, ang siyang nagbubunga nang sagana, sapagkat wala kayong magagawa kung kayo'y hiwalay sa akin. Ang hindi nananatili sa akin ay matutuyo at itinatapon, gaya ng sanga. Ang ganoong mga sanga ay tinitipon, inihahagis sa apoy at sinusunog. Kung nananatili kayo sa akin at nananatili sa inyo ang aking mga salita, hingin ninyo ang anumang nais ninyo at ibibigay iyon sa inyo. DeleteSeñor, aunque estoy de acuerdo que el centro de asuntos estudiantiles necesita explicar concretamente por la decisión, no puedes afirmar de inmediato que la decisión completa contrarresta el espíritu de UNITAS. Primero, la comisión de elecciones han estado dando la lenidad al dar violaciones a tu partido incluso antes del comienzo. Uno, la falla por cumplir en la entrega de candidatos potenciales del partido, a pesar de la fecha de caducidad. Dos, la falla por entregar los materiales de la campaña a tiempo, pero se aceptan. Tres, la falla por seguir la restricción de hacer campañas durante las elecciones. Estoy de acuerdo que debemos seguir el espíritu de UNITAS. Pero, por favor, no afirmes simplemente que la decisión es ridícula porque hubo varios momentos donde la comisión de elecciones tuvo que ajustar su decisión solo para tener elecciones con dos partidos. ¿Cómo puede imponer el mandato de ser el árbitro de nuestra elección si no podemos respetar su decisión?
DeleteMarco, primero, gracias por ser civil. Es fácil calentarse en asuntos como así, y yo aprecio genuinamente que podemos discutir calmamente el asunto. Tal vez debiera más clara con mi afirmación. No quiero argumentar contra tu primero y segundo punto, sino el tercer punto. Personalmente, no pienso que las publicaciones, que comprende la mayor parte de las violaciones que causaron la descalificación, fueron campañas ni endosos en el primer lugar. Se hicieron los esfuerzos para distanciar la publicación del partido. Las intenciones de los que publicaron fueron inocentes, y parece que quisieron mostrar apreciación por sus amigos. Me pregunto también por qué se da violaciones separadas por cada publicación y compartición. Parece muy injusto que se castigan los candidatos que no hicieron nada mal por algo que tiene buenas intenciones. No es el partido que se castiga, sino los candidatos. Dado las circunstancias, creo genuinamente que la situación pudiera haber gestionado mejor. Aunque la comisión de elecciones reforzó lo que fue dicho en la ley, creo que la decisión para considerar que las publicaciones violaron los reglamentos contrarrestó el espíritu ético de la ley.
DeleteNo hay problemas, Rosh. Te agradezco por ser civil también. Es verdaderamente importante que los estudiantes de la universidad están conscientes del caso. Creo que la gente que hizo sus campañas más allá de la fecha especificada eran inocentes. Sin embargo, la decisión de la comisión de elecciones no se les dirige a los estudiantes, sino al partido. ÁNIMA tiene la responsabilidad de informar a todos sus miembros, candidatos y los oficiales en cuanto a los reglamentos después de la semana de las campañas. Y ambos partidos estuvieron de acuerdo con esta responsabilidad y su consecuencia si fracasan hacer así. Créeme cuando digo que estaba triste que los candidatos de ÁNIMA fueron descalificados. Les mencioné abiertamente mi decepción a los miembros de KASANGGA sobre la decisión de la comisión de elecciones porque todos de ellos se merecen la posición en el gobierno universitario. Sin embargo, ya que este lugar es una universidad, deberíamos aprender a practicar el profesionalismo. Y todos los estudiantes deben encarnarlo, especialmente los líderes de diferentes organizaciones. Espero que los candidatos de ÁNIMA persigan todavía sus plataformas. No se necesita un título para ser un líder. Un verdadero líder no necesita votos solo para probar que puede guiar. Estoy seguro que ambos partidos entrenan a sus candidatos no solo por ganar las elecciones sino tener más líderes en nuestra universidad.

エルサレムに着いたパウロは、弟子たちの仲間に加わろうとしましたが、だれもパウロを仲間だとは信じられず、恐れるばかりでした。しかし、バルナバは違いました。パウロを使徒たちのところへ連れて行き、一部始終を彼らに説明しました。パウロがダマスコに向かう途中で主にお会いしたこと、また、主がパウロに語られたことばや、ダマスコでパウロが、イエスの名によって力強い説教をしたことなどを。それで使徒たちも、ようやくパウロを受け入れました。それからは、パウロはいつもクリスチャンと行動を共にし、主の名によって大胆に語りました。また、ギリシヤ語を話すユダヤ人と意見を戦わせることもありました。ところが、彼らの中には、パウロのいのちをねらう者たちがいました。それと知った信者たちは、パウロを故郷のタルソへ帰そうということになり、カイザリヤまで同行して見送りました。こうして教会は、ユダヤ、ガリラヤ、サマリヤのすべてで守られ、どんどん増え広がっていきました。そして、心から主を恐れつつ、聖霊に励まされて前進し続けました。
第二読み物（ヨハネの手紙一第3章：第18詩–第24詩）
この読み物はヨハネの手紙一です。
子供たちよ。口先だけで人を愛するのではなく、真実をこめて愛し、実践によって神の愛を示そうではありませんか。そうすれば、自分が神の側に立っていることを強く確信し、主の前に平安があるのです。たとえ心に責められることがあってもです。しかし、愛する人たち。もし私たちの良心が潔白であれば、完全な確信と信頼を持って主の前に出ることができます。また、願い求めるものは何でもいただけるのです。なぜなら、私たちは主に従い、主に喜ばれる行いをしているからです。神の命令には、喜んで従わなければなりません。つまり、御子イエス・キリストの名を信じ、互いに愛し合わなければなりません。神の命令に喜んで従う人は、神と共にいるのです。そして、神もその人のそばにいてくださるのです。これは、神が私たちに与えてくださった聖霊によって教えられることです。

わたしはまことのぶどうの木、わたしの父はぶどう園の農夫です。父は、実のならない枝をみな切り落とし、実のなる枝はもっとたくさんなるように、余分な枝を整理なさるのです。父は、すでにあなたがたの枝を整理し、きれいに手入れをすまされたのです。ですから、わたしのうちに生きるよう心がけなさい。またわたしが、あなたがたのうちに生きられるようにしなさい。枝は幹につながっていなければ、実を結べないでしょう。同じようにあなたがたも、わたしから離れたら、実を結ぶことはできません。わたしはぶどうの木で、あなたがたはその枝です。人がわたしのうちに生き、わたしもその人のうちに生きているなら、その人は多くの実を結びます。わたしを離れては何もできません。わたしから離れる者はだれでも、役に立たない枝のように投げ捨てられ、枯れてしまいます。最後には、ほかの枝といっしょに積み上げられ、焼かれてしまうのです。しかし、もしわたしのうちにとどまり、わたしの命令に従うなら、何でもほしいものを求めなさい。きっとかなえられます。わたしのほんとうの弟子となり、多くの実を結ぶことによって、父が大いに褒め称えられるのです。

子たちよ、言葉や口先だけではなく、行いをもって誠実に愛し合おう。これによって、わたしたちは自分が真理に属していることを知り、神の御前で安心できます、心に責められることがあろうとも。神は、わたしたちの心よりも大きく、すべてをご存じだからです。愛する者たち、わたしたちは心に責められることがなければ、神の御前で確信を持つことができ、神に願うことは何でもかなえられます。わたしたちが神の掟を守り、御心に適うことを行っているからです。その掟とは、神の子イエス・キリストの名を信じ、この方がわたしたちに命じられたように、互いに愛し合うことです。神の掟を守る人は、神の内にいつもとどまり、神もその人の内にとどまってくださいます。神がわたしたちの内にとどまってくださることは、神が与えてくださった“霊”によって分かります。

Prima lettura (Atti 9: 26–31)

Venuto a Gerusalemme, cercava di unirsi con i discepoli, ma tutti avevano paura di lui, non credendo ancora che fosse un discepolo. Allora Barnaba lo prese con sé, lo presentò agli apostoli e raccontò loro come durante il viaggio aveva visto il Signore che gli aveva parlato, e come in Damasco aveva predicato con coraggio nel nome di Gesù. Così egli potè stare con loro e andava e veniva a Gerusalemme, parlando apertamente nel nome del Signore e parlava e discuteva con gli Ebrei di lingua greca; ma questi tentarono di ucciderlo. Venutolo però a sapere i fratelli, lo condussero a Cesarèa e lo fecero partire per Tarso. La Chiesa era dunque in pace per tutta la Giudea, la Galilea e la Samaria; essa cresceva e camminava nel timore del Signore, colma del conforto dello Spirito Santo.
Seconda lettura (1 Giovanni 3: 18–24)
Una lettura della prima lettera di San Giovanni.
Figlioli, non amiamo a parole né con la lingua, ma coi fatti e nella verità. Da questo conosceremo che siamo nati dalla verità e davanti a lui rassicureremo il nostro cuore qualunque cosa esso ci rimproveri. Dio è più grande del nostro cuore e conosce ogni cosa. Carissimi, se il nostro cuore non ci rimprovera nulla, abbiamo fiducia in Dio; e qualunque cosa chiediamo la riceviamo da lui perché osserviamo i suoi comandamenti e facciamo quel che è gradito a lui. Questo è il suo comandamento: che crediamo nel nome del Figlio suo Gesù Cristo e ci amiamo gli uni gli altri, secondo il precetto che ci ha dato. Chi osserva i suoi comandamenti dimora in Dio ed egli in lui. E da questo conosciamo che dimora in noi: dallo Spirito che ci ha dato.
Vangelo (Giovanni 15: 1–8)
Una lettura del Santo Vangelo secondo San Giovanni.
"Io sono la vera vite e il Padre mio è il vignaiolo. Ogni tralcio che in me non porta frutto, lo toglie e ogni tralcio che porta frutto, lo pota perché porti più frutto. Voi siete gia mondi, per la parola che vi ho annunziato. Rimanete in me e io in voi. Come il tralcio non può far frutto da se stesso se non rimane nella vite, così anche voi se non rimanete in me. Io sono la vite, voi i tralci. Chi rimane in me e io in lui, fa molto frutto, perché senza di me non potete far nulla. Chi non rimane in me viene gettato via come il tralcio e si secca, e poi lo raccolgono e lo gettano nel fuoco e lo bruciano. Se rimanete in me e le mie parole rimangono in voi, chiedete quel che volete e vi sarà dato. In questo è glorificato il Padre mio: che portiate molto frutto e diventiate miei discepoli."
