First reading (Wisdom 7: 7–11)
A reading from the
book of Wisdom.
I prayed, and
prudence was given me; I pleaded, and the spirit of wisdom came to me. I
preferred her to scepter and throne, and deemed riches nothing in comparison
with her, nor did I liken any priceless gem to her; because all gold, in view
of her, is a little sand, and before her, silver is to be accounted mire. Beyond
health and comeliness I loved her, and I chose to have her rather than the
light, because the splendor of her never yields to sleep. Yet all good things
together came to me in her company, and countless riches at her hands.
Second reading
(Hebrews 4: 12–13)
A reading from the
letter of Saint Paul to the Hebrews.
Brothers and
sisters: Indeed the word of God is living and effective, sharper than any
two-edged sword, penetrating even between soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and
able to discern reflections and thoughts of the heart. No creature is concealed
from him, but everything is naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we
must render an account.
Gospel (Mark 10:
17–30)

As Jesus was
setting out on a journey, a man ran up, knelt down before him, and asked him, "Good
teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?" Jesus answered him,
"Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone. You know the
commandments: You shall not kill; you shall not commit adultery; you shall not
steal; you shall not bear false witness; you shall not defraud; honor your
father and your mother." He replied and said to him, "Teacher, all of
these I have observed from my youth." Jesus, looking at him, loved him and
said to him, "You are lacking in one thing. Go, sell what you have, and
give to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow
me." At that statement his face fell, and he went away sad, for he had
many possessions. Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, "How hard
it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!" The
disciples were amazed at his words. So Jesus again said to them in reply, "Children,
how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to pass
through the eye of a needle than for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of
God." They were exceedingly astonished and said among themselves, "Then
who can be saved?" Jesus looked at them and said, "For human beings
it is impossible, but not for God. All things are possible for God." Peter
began to say to him, "We have given up everything and followed you." Jesus
said, "Amen, I say to you, there is no one who has given up house or
brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for my sake and
for the sake of the gospel who will not receive a hundred times more now in
this present age: houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and
lands, with persecutions, and eternal life in the age to come."

I prayed and understanding was given to me; I asked earnestly and the spirit of Wisdom came to me. I preferred her to scepters and thrones and I considered wealth as nothing compared with her. I preferred her to any jewel of inestimable value, since gold beside her is nothing but a few grains of sand, and silver but mud. I loved her more than wealth and beauty and even preferred her to light, because her radiance never dies. She brought with her all other good things, untold riches in her hands.
Second reading (Hebrews 4: 12–13)

For the word of God is living and effective, sharper than any two-edged sword. It pierces to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and judges the intentions and thoughts of the heart. All creation is transparent to Him; everything is uncovered and laid bare to the eyes of Him to whom we render account.
Gospel (Mark 10: 17–30)
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Mark.
Just as Jesus was setting out on his journey again, a man ran up, knelt before him and asked, "Good Master, what must I do to have eternal life?" Jesus answered, "Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone. You know the commandments: Do not kill, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not bear false witness, do not cheat, honor your father and mother." The man replied, "I have obeyed all these commandments ever since my childhood." Then Jesus looked steadily at him and loved him and he stated, "For you, one thing is lacking. Go, sell what you have and give the money to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven. Then come and follow me." On hearing these words, his face fell and he went away sorrowful for he was a man of great wealth. Jesus looked around and stated to his disciples, "How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!" The disciples were shocked at these words, but Jesus insisted, "Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of God." They were more astonished than ever and wondered, "Who then can be saved?" Jesus looked steadily at them and stated, "For humans it is impossible, but not for God; all things are possible with God." Peter spoke up and stated, "We have given up everything to follow you." Jesus answered, "Truly, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters, or father or mother, or children, or lands for my sake and for the Gospel, who will not receive his reward. I say to you: even in the midst of persecution he will receive a hundred times as many houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and lands in the present time and in the world to come eternal life."

Por eso oré, y me fue dada la prudencia, supliqué, y descendió sobre mí el espíritu de la Sabiduría. La preferí a los cetros y a los tronos, y tuve por nada las riquezas en comparación con ella. No la igualé a la piedra más preciosa, porque todo el oro, comparado con ella, es un poco de arena; y la plata, a su lado, será considerada como barro. La amé más que a la salud y a la hermosura, y la quise más que a la luz del día, porque su resplandor no tiene ocaso. Junto con ella me vinieron todos los bienes, y ella tenía en sus manos una riqueza incalculable.
Salmo responsorial (Salmo 90) (Versículos 12–19)
La respuesta es: Llénanos con tu amor, Señor, y ¡cantaremos con alegría!
• Enséñanos a calcular nuestros años, para que nuestro corazón alcance la sabiduría. ¡Vuélvete, Señor! ¿Hasta cuándo? Ten compasión de tus servidores.
• Sácianos en seguida con tu amor, y cantaremos felices toda nuestra vida. Alégranos por los días en que nos afligiste, por los años en que soportamos la desgracia.

Segunda lectura (Hebreos 4: 12–13)

En efecto, la palabra de Dios es viva y eficaz, más penetrante que espada de doble filo, y penetra hasta donde se dividen el alma y el espíritu, las articulaciones y los tuétanos, haciendo un discernimiento de los deseos y los pensamientos más íntimos. No hay criatura a la que su luz no pueda penetrar; todo queda desnudo y al descubierto a los ojos de aquél al que rendiremos cuentas.
Evangelio (Marcos 10: 17–30)
Una lectura del Evangelio Santo según San Marcos.
Jesús estaba a punto de partir, cuando un hombre corrió a su encuentro, se arrodilló delante de él y le preguntó: “Maestro bueno, ¿qué tengo que hacer para conseguir la vida eterna?” Jesús le dijo: “¿Por qué me llamas bueno? Nadie es bueno, sino sólo Dios. Ya conoces los mandamientos: No mates, no cometas adulterio, no robes, no digas cosas falsas de tu hermano, no seas injusto, honra a tu padre y a tu madre.” El hombre le contestó: “Maestro, todo eso lo he practicado desde muy joven.” Jesús fijó su mirada en él, le tomó cariño y le dijo: “Sólo te falta una cosa: vete, vende todo lo que tienes y reparte el dinero entre los pobres, y tendrás un tesoro en el Cielo. Después, ven y sígueme.” Al oír esto se desanimó totalmente, pues era un hombre muy rico, y se fue triste. Entonces Jesús paseó su mirada sobre sus discípulos y les dijo: “¡Qué difícilmente entrarán en el Reino de Dios los que tienen riquezas!” Los discípulos se sorprendieron al oír estas palabras, pero Jesús insistió: “Hijos, ¡qué difícil es entrar en el Reino de Dios! Es más fácil para un camello pasar por el ojo de una aguja que para un rico entrar en el Reino de Dios.” Ellos se asombraron todavía más y comentaban: “Entonces, ¿quién podrá salvarse?” Jesús los miró fijamente y les dijo: “Para los hombres es imposible, pero no para Dios, porque para Dios todo es posible.” Entonces Pedro le dijo: “Nosotros lo hemos dejado todo para seguirte.” Y Jesús contestó: “En verdad les digo: Ninguno que haya dejado casa, hermanos, hermanas, madre, padre, hijos o campos por mi causa y por el Evangelio quedará sin recompensa. Pues, aun con persecuciones, recibirá cien veces más en la presente vida en casas, hermanos, hermanas, hijos y campos, y en el mundo venidero la vida eterna.”

ReplyDeleteAng pagbabasa sa aklat ng Karunungan ni Solomon.
Sapagkat alam kong ako'y tao lamang, ako'y nanalangin at binigyan naman ako ng pang-unawa. Tumawag ako sa Diyos at binigyan ako ng Karunungan. Higit na mahalaga sa akin ang Karunungan kaysa trono at setro, at mas matimbang kaysa alinmang kayamanan. Hindi ko siya maipagpapalit maging sa pinakamahal na alahas. Ang ginto ay tulad lamang ng buhangin kung ihahambing sa Karunungan. Ang pilak nama'y nagmimistulang putik kapag inihambing sa kanya. Para sa akin, siya'y higit pa sa kalusugan o kagandahan. Mas gusto ko siya kaysa alinmang ilaw sapagkat ang luningning niya'y walang pagkupas. Nang makamit ko ang Karunungan, dumating sa akin ang lahat ng pagpapala.

Maka itu aku berdoa dan aku pun diberi pengertian, aku bermohon lalu roh kebijaksanaan datang kepadaku. Dialah yang lebih kuutamakan dari pada tongkat kerajaan dan takhta, dan dibandingkan dengannya kekayaan kuanggap bukan apa-apa. Permata yang tak terhingga nilainya tidak kusamakan dengan dia, sebab segala emas di bumi hanya pasir saja di hadapannya dan perak dianggap lumpur belaka di sampingnya. Ia kukasihi lebih dari kesehatan dan keelokan rupa, dan aku lebih suka memiliki dia dari pada cahaya, sebab kilau dari padanya tidak kunjung hentinya. Namun demikian besertanya datang pula kepadaku segala harta milik, dan kekayaan tak tepermanai ada di tangannya.

Sebab firman Allah hidup dan kuat dan lebih tajam dari pada pedang bermata dua mana pun; ia menusuk amat dalam sampai memisahkan jiwa dan roh, sendi-sendi dan sumsum; ia sanggup membedakan pertimbangan dan pikiran hati kita. Tetapi Yesus memandang dia dan menaruh kasih kepadanya, lalu berkata kepadanya: "Hanya satu lagi kekuranganmu: pergilah, juallah apa yang kaumiliki dan berikanlah itu kepada orang-orang miskin, maka engkau akan beroleh harta di surga, kemudian datanglah ke mari dan ikutlah Aku." Mendengar perkataan itu ia menjadi kecewa, lalu pergi dengan sedih, sebab banyak hartanya. Lalu Yesus memandang murid-murid-Nya di sekeliling-Nya dan berkata kepada mereka: "Alangkah sukarnya orang yang beruang masuk ke dalam Kerajaan Allah." Murid-murid-Nya tercengang mendengar perkataan-Nya itu. Tetapi Yesus menyambung lagi: "Anak-anak-Ku, alangkah sukarnya masuk ke dalam Kerajaan Allah. Lebih mudah seekor unta melewati lobang jarum dari pada seorang kaya masuk ke dalam Kerajaan Allah." Mereka makin gempar dan berkata seorang kepada yang lain: "Jika demikian, siapakah yang dapat diselamatkan?" Yesus memandang mereka dan berkata: "Bagi manusia hal itu tidak mungkin, tetapi bukan demikian bagi Allah. Sebab segala sesuatu adalah mungkin bagi Allah." Berkatalah Petrus kepada Yesus: "Kami ini telah meninggalkan segala sesuatu dan mengikut Engkau!" Jawab Yesus: "Aku berkata kepadamu, sesungguhnya setiap orang yang karena Aku dan karena Injil meninggalkan rumahnya, saudaranya laki-laki atau saudaranya perempuan, ibunya atau bapanya, anak-anaknya atau ladangnya, orang itu sekarang pada masa ini juga akan menerima kembali seratus kali lipat: rumah, saudara laki-laki, saudara perempuan, ibu, anak dan ladang, sekalipun disertai berbagai penganiayaan, dan pada zaman yang akan datang ia akan menerima hidup yang kekal."

わたしは祈った。すると悟りが与えられ、願うと、知恵の霊が訪れた。わたしは知恵を王笏や王座よりも尊び、知恵に比べれば、富も無に等しいと思った。どんな宝石も知恵にまさるとは思わなかった。知恵の前では金も砂粒にすぎず、知恵と比べれば銀も泥に等しい。わたしは健康や容姿の美しさ以上に知恵を愛し、光よりも知恵を選んだ。知恵の輝きは消えることがないからだ。知恵と共にすべての善が、わたしを訪れた。知恵の手の中には量り難い富がある。
第二読み物（ヘブライ人第4章：第12詩–第13詩）
この読み物はヘブライ人への手紙です。
というのは、神の言葉は生きており、力を発揮し、どんな両刃の剣よりも鋭く、精神と霊、関節と骨髄とを切り離すほどに刺し通して、心の思いや考えを見分けることができるからです。更に、神の御前では隠れた被造物は一つもなく、すべてのものが神の目には裸であり、さらけ出されているのです。この神に対して、わたしたちは自分のことを申し述べねばなりません。

イエスが道に出て行くと、一人の人が走り寄ってひざまずき、「先生。あなたは尊いお方です。お教えください。天国に入るにはどうしたらよいでしょうか」と尋ねました。「どうしてわたしを尊いと言うのですか。尊いお方は神おひとりです。それはさておき、今の質問に答えましょう。守るべき戒めは知っていますね。殺してはならない、姦淫してはならない、盗んではならない、うそをついてはならない、だまし取ってはならない、あなたの父と母とを敬いなさい、という戒めです。」「はい、先生。私は今まで、それらを一つも破ったことはありません。」イエスは心から彼に同情して言われました。「あなたには、たった一つだけ欠けたところがあるのです。さあ、家に帰って財産を全部売り払い、そのお金を貧しい人たちに分けてあげなさい。そうすれば、天に宝をたくわえることになるのです。それから、わたしについて来なさい。」このイエスのことばに、その人は顔をくもらせ、悲しそうに帰って行きました。たいへんな金持ちだったからです。そのうしろ姿をじっと見ていたイエスは、弟子たちのほうをふり返り、「金持ちが神の国に入るのは、実にむずかしいことです」と言われました。このことばに、弟子たちはびっくりしました。イエスは、もう一度言われました。「愛する子どもたちよ。財産を頼みとする人が神の国に入るのは、なんとむずかしいことでしょう。金持ちが神の国に入るよりは、らくだが針の穴を通るほうが、よほどやさしいのです。」弟子たちはますます驚いて言いました。「そうだとしたら、この世の中で、いったいだれが救われるのでしょう。」（金持ちこそ神から祝福された人だと考えられていたからです。）イエスは弟子たちをじっと見つめ、「それは、神でなければできません。神には、どんなことでもできるのです」と言われました。するとペテロが、自分や他の弟子たちが捨ててきたものを数え上げ始めました。「私たちは何もかも捨てて、あなたに従ってまいりました。」これを聞いて、イエスは言われました。「はっきり言っておきます。わたしを愛するゆえに、また福音を人々に告げ知らせるために、家、兄弟、姉妹、父、母、子、財産をすべて投げ捨てた者は、必ずその百倍の報いを受けます。この地上では迫害されますが、それでも家、兄弟、姉妹、母、子、土地はちゃんと戻ってきます。そればかりか、次の世では永遠のいのちを受けるのです。」

Per questo pregai e mi fu elargita la prudenza; implorai e venne in me lo spirito della sapienza. La preferii a scettri e a troni, stimai un nulla la ricchezza al suo confronto; non la paragonai neppure a una gemma inestimabile, perché tutto l'oro al suo confronto è un pò di sabbia e come fango sarà valutato di fronte ad essa l'argento. L'amai più della salute e della bellezza, preferii il suo possesso alla stessa luce, perché non tramonta lo splendore che ne promana. Insieme con essa mi sono venuti tutti i beni; nelle sue mani è una ricchezza incalcolabile.
Seconda lettura (Ebrei 4: 12–13)
Una lettura della lettera di San Paolo agli Ebrei.
Infatti la parola di Dio è viva, efficace e più tagliente di ogni spada a doppio taglio; essa penetra fino al punto di divisione dell'anima e dello spirito, delle giunture e delle midolla e scruta i sentimenti e i pensieri del cuore. Non v'è creatura che possa nascondersi davanti a lui, ma tutto è nudo e scoperto agli occhi suoi e a lui noi dobbiamo rendere conto.

Mentre usciva per mettersi in viaggio, un tale gli corse incontro e, gettandosi in ginocchio davanti a lui, gli domandò: “Maestro buono, che cosa devo fare per avere la vita eterna?” Gesù gli disse: “Perché mi chiami buono? Nessuno è buono, se non Dio solo. Tu conosci i comandamenti: Non uccidere, non commettere adulterio, non rubare, non dire falsa testimonianza, non frodare, onora il padre e la madre.” Egli allora gli disse: “Maestro, tutte queste cose le ho osservate fin dalla mia giovinezza.” Allora Gesù, fissatolo, lo amò e gli disse: “Una cosa sola ti manca: và, vendi quello che hai e dàllo ai poveri e avrai un tesoro in cielo; poi vieni e seguimi.” Ma egli, rattristatosi per quelle parole, se ne andò afflitto, poiché aveva molti beni. Gesù, volgendo lo sguardo attorno, disse ai suoi discepoli: “Quanto difficilmente coloro che hanno ricchezze entreranno nel regno di Dio!” I discepoli rimasero stupefatti a queste sue parole; ma Gesù riprese: “Figlioli, com'è difficile entrare nel regno di Dio! E' più facile che un cammello passi per la cruna di un ago, che un ricco entri nel regno di Dio.” Essi, ancora più sbigottiti, dicevano tra loro: “E chi mai si può salvare?” Ma Gesù, guardandoli, disse: “Impossibile presso gli uomini, ma non presso Dio! Perché tutto è possibile presso Dio.” Pietro allora gli disse: “Ecco, noi abbiamo lasciato tutto e ti abbiamo seguito.” Gesù gli rispose: “In verità vi dico: non c'è nessuno che abbia lasciato casa o fratelli o sorelle o madre o padre o figli o campi a causa mia e a causa del vangelo, che non riceva gia al presente cento volte tanto in case e fratelli e sorelle e madri e figli e campi, insieme a persecuzioni, e nel futuro la vita eterna. E molti dei primi saranno ultimi e gli ultimi i primi.”
