First reading (Jeremiah 31: 7–9)
A reading from the book of the prophet Jeremiah.
Thus says the LORD: Shout with joy for Jacob, exult at the head
of the nations; proclaim your praise and say: The LORD has delivered his
people, the remnant of Israel. Behold, I will bring them back from the land of
the north; I will gather them from the ends of the world, with the blind and
the lame in their midst, the mothers and those with child; they shall return as
an immense throng. They departed in tears, but I will console them and guide
them; I will lead them to brooks of water, on a level road, so that none shall
stumble. For I am a father to Israel, Ephraim is my first-born.
Second reading (Hebrews 5: 1–6)
A reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Hebrews.
Brothers and sisters: Every high priest is taken from among men and
made their representative before God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. He
is able to deal patiently with the ignorant and erring, for he himself is beset
by weakness and so, for this reason, must make sin offerings for himself as
well as for the people. No one takes this honor upon himself but only when
called by God, just as Aaron was. In the same way, it was not Christ who
glorified himself in becoming high priest, but rather the one who said to him: You
are my son: this day I have begotten you; just as he says in another place: You
are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
Gospel (Mark 10: 46–52)
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Mark.
As Jesus was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a sizable
crowd, Bartimaeus, a blind man, the son of Timaeus, sat by the roadside
begging. On hearing that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say,
"Jesus, son of David, have pity on me." And many rebuked him, telling
him to be silent. But he kept calling out all the more, "Son of David,
have pity on me." Jesus stopped and said, "Call him." So they
called the blind man, saying to him, "Take courage; get up, Jesus is
calling you." He threw aside his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus. Jesus
said to him in reply, "What do you want me to do for you?" The blind
man replied to him, "Master, I want to see." Jesus told him, "Go
your way; your faith has saved you." Immediately he received his sight and
followed him on the way.

Look, I will bring them back from the land of the north, gather them from the ends of the earth, the lame and the blind, mothers and women in labor — a great throng will return. They went away weeping, they will return in joy. I will lead them by the streams of water, on a level path so that no one will stumble, for I am Israel's father and Ephraim is my firstborn.
Second reading (Hebrews 5: 1–6)

Every High Priest is taken from among mortals and appointed to be their representative before God to offer gifts and sacrifices for sin. he is able to understand the ignorant and erring for he himself is subject to weakness. This is why he is bound to offer sacrifices for his sins as well as for the sins of the people. Besides, one does not presume to take this dignity, but takes it only when called by God, as Aaron was. Nor did Christ become High Priest in taking upon himself this dignity, but it was given to him by the One who states: You are my son, I have begotten you today. And in another place: You are a priest forever in the priestly order of Melchizedek.
Gospel (Mark 10: 46–52)

Then Jesus asked him, "What do you want me to do for you?" The blind man stated, "Master, let me see again!" And Jesus stated to him, "Go your way, your faith has made you well." And immediately he could see, and he followed Jesus along the road.

Bring back our exiles, O Lord, like fresh streams in the desert. Those who sow in tears will reap with songs and shouts of joy.
They went forth weeping, bearing the seeds for sowing, they will come home with joyful shouts, bringing their harvested sheaves.

Primera lectura (Jeremías 31: 7–9)

Y añade Yahvé: ¡Vitoreen con alegría a Jacob, aclamen a la primera de las naciones! Háganse escuchar, celébrenlo y publíquenlo: “¡Yahvé ha salvado a su pueblo, al resto de Israel!” Miren cómo los traigo del país del norte, y cómo los junto de los extremos del mundo. Están todos, ciegos y cojos, mujeres encinta y con hijos, y forman una multitud que vuelve para acá. Partieron en medio de lágrimas, pero los hago regresar contentos; los voy a llevar a los arroyos por un camino plano para que nadie se caiga. Pues he llegado a ser un padre para Israel y Efraím es mi primogénito.
Salmo responsorial (Salmo 126) (Versículos 1–6)
La respuesta es: El Señor ha hecho grandes cosas por nosotros.

Segunda lectura (Hebreos 5: 1–6)

Todo sumo sacerdote es tomado de entre los hombres y los representa en las cosas de Dios; por eso ofrece dones y sacrificios por el pecado. Es capaz de comprender a los ignorantes y a los extraviados, pues también lleva el peso de su propia debilidad; por esta razón debe ofrecer sacrificios por sus propios pecados al igual que por los del pueblo. Nadie se apropia esta dignidad, sino que debe ser llamado por Dios, como lo fue Aarón. Y tampoco Cristo se atribuyó la dignidad de sumo sacerdote, sino que se la otorgó aquel que dice: Tú eres mi Hijo, yo te he engendrado hoy. Y en otro lugar se dijo: Tú eres sacerdote para siempre a semejanza de Melquisedec.
Evangelio (Marcos 10: 46–52)
Una lectura del Evangelio Santo según San Marcos.
Llegaron a Jericó. Al salir Jesús de allí con sus discípulos y con bastante más gente, un ciego que pedía limosna se encontraba a la orilla del camino. Se llamaba Bartimeo (hijo de Timeo). Al enterarse de que era Jesús de Nazaret el que pasaba, empezó a gritar: “¡Jesús, Hijo de David, ten compasión de mí!” Muchas personas trataban de hacerlo callar. Pero él gritaba con más fuerza: “¡Hijo de David, ten compasión de mí!” Jesús se detuvo y dijo: “Llámenlo.” Llamaron, pues, al ciego diciéndole: “Vamos, levántate, que te está llamando.” él, arrojando su manto, se puso en pie de un salto y se acercó a Jesús. Jesús le preguntó: “¿Qué quieres que haga por ti?” El ciego respondió: “Maestro, que vea.” Entonces Jesús le dijo: “Puedes irte, tu fe te ha salvado.” Y al instante pudo ver y siguió a Jesús por el camino.

Ang sabi ni Yahweh: “Umawit kayo sa kagalakan alang-alang kay Jacob, ipagbunyi ninyo ang pinakadakilang bansa; magpuri kayo at inyong ipahayag na iniligtas ni Yahweh ang kanyang bayan, ang mga nalabi sa Israel. Narito, sila'y ibabalik ko mula sa hilaga; titipunin ko sila mula sa mga sulok ng sanlibutan, kasama ang mga bulag at mga pilay, ang mga inang may anak na pasusuhin, pati ang malapit nang manganak; sila'y babalik na talagang napakarami! Ang bawat pinakapunong pari ay pinili mula sa mga tao at inilagay sa ganoong tungkulin upang maglingkod sa Diyos para sa mga tao. Siya ang nag-aalay ng mga kaloob at mga handog para mapatawad ang mga kasalanan. Mahinahon niyang napapakitunguhan ang mga mangmang at naliligaw ng landas, sapagkat siya'y mahina ring tulad nila. At dahil sa kanyang kahinaan, kinakailangang siya'y mag-alay ng handog, hindi lamang para sa kasalanan ng iba, kundi para rin sa kanyang mga kasalanan. Ang karangalan ng pagiging pinakapunong pari ay hindi maaaring makuha ninuman sa kanyang sariling kagustuhan. Ang Diyos ang pumipili sa kanya, tulad ng pagkapili kay Aaron. Gayundin naman, hindi itinaas ni Cristo ang kanyang sarili upang maging Pinakapunong Pari. Siya'y pinili ng Diyos na nagsabi sa kanya, “Ikaw ang aking Anak, mula ngayo'y ako na ang iyong Ama.” Sinabi rin niya sa ibang bahagi ng kasulatan, “Ikaw ay pari magpakailanman, ayon sa pagkapari ni Melquisedec.”

Kabarkanlah, pujilah dan katakanlah: TUHAN telah menyelamatkan umat-Nya, yakni sisa-sisa Israel! Sesungguhnya, Aku akan membawa mereka dari tanah utara dan akan mengumpulkan mereka dari ujung bumi; di antara mereka ada orang buta dan lumpuh, ada perempuan yang mengandung bersama-sama dengan perhimpunan yang melahirkan; dalam kumpulan besar mereka akan kembali ke mari! Ia harus dapat mengerti orang-orang yang jahil dan orang-orang yang sesat, karena ia sendiri penuh dengan kelemahan, yang mengharuskannya untuk mempersembahkan korban karena dosa, bukan saja bagi umat, tetapi juga bagi dirinya sendiri. Dan tidak seorang pun yang mengambil kehormatan itu bagi dirinya sendiri, tetapi dipanggil untuk itu oleh Allah, seperti yang telah terjadi dengan Harun. Demikian pula Kristus tidak memuliakan diri-Nya sendiri dengan menjadi Imam Besar, tetapi dimuliakan oleh Dia yang berfirman kepada-Nya: "Anak-Ku Engkau! ユダヤの大祭司は、人々の代表として供え物をささげ、神に仕えます。しかし、大祭司であっても同じ人間なので、人々のためだけでなく、自分の罪が取り除かれるためにもいけにえの動物の血をささげるのです。また、彼自身も弱さを身にまとっているので、無知な人や迷っている人を思いやることができるのです。もう一つ、大祭司について言えるのは、自分の意志では大祭司になれないということです。アロンが選ばれた時のように、大祭司となる者は、神から直接、その務めに任命される必要があります。キリストも名誉ある大祭司の地位につかれましたが、自分のご意志でそうなさったのではありません。神がお選びになったのです。神はこの方に、「わが子よ。今日、私はあなたを生んだ」と言われました。またさらに、「あなたは、メルキゼデク（アブラハムの時代、サレムの王であり祭司であった人物。永遠の大祭司の型）と同じ位にある、永遠の祭司に選ばれた」と告げました。

Poichè dice il Signore: “Innalzate canti di gioia per Giacobbe, esultate per la prima delle nazioni, fate udire la vostra lode e dite: Il Signore ha salvato il suo popolo, un resto di Israele.” Ecco li riconduco dal paese del settentrione e li raduno all'estremità della terra; fra di essi sono il cieco e lo zoppo, la donna incinta e la partoriente; ritorneranno qui in gran folla. Essi erano partiti nel pianto, io li riporterò tra le consolazioni; li condurrò a fiumi d'acqua per una strada dritta in cui non inciamperanno; perchè io sono un padre per Israele, Efraim è il mio primogenito.

Ogni sommo sacerdote, preso fra gli uomini, viene costituito per il bene degli uomini nelle cose che riguardano Dio, per offrire doni e sacrifici per i peccati. In tal modo egli è in grado di sentire giusta compassione per quelli che sono nell'ignoranza e nell'errore, essendo anch'egli rivestito di debolezza; proprio a causa di questa anche per se stesso deve offrire sacrifici per i peccati, come lo fa per il popolo. Nessuno può attribuire a se stesso questo onore, se non chi è chiamato da Dio, come Aronne. Nello stesso modo Cristo non si attribuì la gloria di sommo sacerdote, ma gliela conferì colui che gli disse: Mio figlio sei tu, oggi ti ho generato. Come in un altro passo dice: Tu sei sacerdote per sempre, alla maniera di Melchìsedek.

Una lettura del Santo Vangelo secondo San Marco.
E giunsero a Gerico. E mentre partiva da Gerico insieme ai discepoli e a molta folla, il figlio di Timèo, Bartimèo, cieco, sedeva lungo la strada a mendicare. Costui, al sentire che c'era Gesù Nazareno, cominciò a gridare e a dire: “Figlio di Davide, Gesù, abbi pietà di me!” Molti lo sgridavano per farlo tacere, ma egli gridava più forte: “Figlio di Davide, abbi pietà di me!” Allora Gesù si fermò e disse: “Chiamatelo!” E chiamarono il cieco dicendogli: “Coraggio! Alzati, ti chiama!” Egli, gettato via il mantello, balzò in piedi e venne da Gesù. Allora Gesù gli disse: “Che vuoi che io ti faccia?” E il cieco a lui: “Rabbunì, che io riabbia la vista!” E Gesù gli disse: “Và, la tua fede ti ha salvato.” E subito riacquistò la vista e prese a seguirlo per la strada.
