Woe to the shepherds who mislead and scatter the flock of my pasture, says the LORD. Therefore, thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, against the shepherds who shepherd my people: You have scattered my sheep and driven them away. You have not cared for them, but I will take care to punish your evil deeds. I myself will gather the remnant of my flock from all the lands to which I have driven them and bring them back to their meadow; there they shall increase and multiply. I will appoint shepherds for them who will shepherd them so that they need no longer fear and tremble; and none shall be missing, says the LORD. Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will raise up a righteous shoot to David; as king, he shall reign and govern wisely, he shall do what is just and right in the land. In his days Judah shall be saved, Israel shall dwell in security. This is the name they give him: "The LORD our justice."
Second reading (Ephesians 2: 13–18)

Brothers and sisters: In Christ Jesus, you who once were far off have become near by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, he who made both one and broke down the dividing wall of enmity, through his flesh, abolishing the law with its commandments and legal claims, that he might create in himself one new person in place of the two, thus establishing peace, and might reconcile both with God, in one body, through the cross, putting that enmity to death by it. He came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near, for through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.

The apostles gathered together with Jesus and reported all they had done and taught. He said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest awhile.” People were coming and going in great numbers, and they had no opportunity even to eat. So they went off in the boat by themselves to a deserted place. People saw them leaving and many came to know about it. They hastened there on foot from all the towns and arrived at the place before them. When he disembarked and saw the vast crowd, his heart was moved with pity for them, for they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things.

"Woe to the shepherds who mislead and scatter the sheep of my pasture." This is the message of the Lord, God of Israel, to the shepherds in charge of the people, "You have scattered my sheep and driven them away instead of caring for them. Now I will deal with you because of your evil deeds. I will gather the remnant of my sheep from every land to which I have driven them and I will bring them back to the grasslands. They will be fruitful and increase in number. I will appoint shepherds who will take care of them. No longer will they fear or be terrified. Nobody will be lost." The Lord added, "The day is coming when I will raise up a king who is David's righteous successor. He will rule wisely and govern with justice and righteousness. That will be a grandiose era when Judah will enjoy peace and Israel will live in safety. He will be called "The Lord our savior.”
Second reading (Ephesians 2: 13–18)

Brothers and sisters: In Jesus Christ, you who once were far off have become near by the blood of Christ. For Christ is our peace, he who has made the two peoples one, destroying in his own flesh the wall — the hatred — which separated us. He abolished the Law with its commands and precepts. He made peace in uniting the two peoples in him, creating out of the two, one New Man. He destroyed hatred and he reconciled us both to God through the cross, making the two one body. He came to proclaim peace; peace to you who were far off, peace to the Jews who were near. Through him, we — the two peoples — approach the Father in one Spirit.
Gospel (Mark 6: 30–34)

The apostles returned and reported to Jesus all they had done and taught. Then Jesus stated to them, "Go off by yourselves to a remote place and have some rest." For there were so many people coming and going that the apostles had no time even to eat. They went away in a boat to a secluded area by themselves. However, people saw them leaving and many could guess where they were going. So, from all the towns they hurried there on foot, arriving ahead of them. As Jesus went ashore he saw a huge crowd, and he had compassion for them for they were like sheep without a shepherd. And he began a long teaching session with them.

“¡Ay de esos pastores que pierden y dispersan las ovejas de mis praderas!” Así habla Yahvé, el Dios de Israel, contra los pastores que pastorean a mi pueblo: “Ustedes han dispersado mis ovejas y las han echado en vez de preocuparse de ellas. Pero ahora me voy a preocupar de ustedes por todo el mal que cometieron, palabra de Yahvé. Voy a reunir el resto de mis ovejas, llamándolas de todos los países a donde las haya dispersado. Las haré volver a sus pastos, donde se criarán y se multiplicarán. Yo pondré al frente de ellas pastores que las cuiden, y nunca más temerán o serán asustadas. Ya ninguna se perderá.” Así dice Yahvé: “Llega el día en que yo haré surgir un hijo de David que se portará como rey justo y prudente. Gobernará este país según la justicia y el derecho. Entonces se fueron solos en la barca a un lugar desierto. Al verlos partir, muchos los reconocieron, y de todas las ciudades acudieron por tierra a aquel lugar y llegaron antes que ellos. Al desembarcar, Jesús vio una gran muchedumbre y se compadeció de ella, porque eran como ovejas sin pastor, y estuvo enseñándoles largo rato.

Sebab itu beginilah firman TUHAN, Allah Israel, terhadap para gembala yang menggembalakan bangsaku: "Kamu telah membiarkan kambing domba-Ku terserak dan tercerai-berai, dan kamu tidak menjaganya. Maka ketahuilah, Aku akan membalaskan kepadamu perbuatan-perbuatanmu yang jahat, demikianlah firman TUHAN. Dan Aku sendiri akan mengumpulkan sisa-sisa kambing domba-Ku dari segala negeri ke mana Aku menceraiberaikan mereka, dan Aku akan membawa mereka kembali ke padang mereka: mereka akan berkembang biak dan bertambah banyak. Aku akan mengangkat atas mereka gembala-gembala yang akan menggembalakan mereka, sehingga mereka tidak takut lagi, tidak terkejut dan tidak hilang seekorpun, demikianlah firman TUHAN. Bacaan kedua (Efesus 2: 13–18)

Tetapi sekarang di dalam Kristus Yesus kamu, yang dahulu "jauh", sudah menjadi "dekat" oleh darah Kristus. Karena Dialah damai sejahtera kita, yang telah mempersatukan kedua pihak dan yang telah merubuhkan tembok pemisah, yaitu perseteruan, sebab dengan mati-Nya sebagai manusia Ia telah membatalkan hukum Taurat dengan segala perintah dan ketentuannya, untuk menciptakan keduanya menjadi satu manusia baru di dalam diri-Nya, dan dengan itu mengadakan damai sejahtera, dan untuk memperdamaikan keduanya, di dalam satu tubuh, dengan Allah oleh salib, dengan melenyapkan perseteruan pada salib itu. Ia datang dan memberitakan damai sejahtera kepada kamu yang "jauh" dan damai sejahtera kepada mereka yang "dekat", karena oleh Dia kita kedua pihak dalam satu Roh beroleh jalan masuk kepada Bapa.

Kemudian rasul-rasul itu kembali berkumpul dengan Yesus dan memberitahukan kepada-Nya semua yang mereka kerjakan dan ajarkan. Lalu Ia berkata kepada mereka: "Marilah ke tempat yang sunyi, supaya kita sendirian, dan beristirahatlah seketika!" Sebab memang begitu banyaknya orang yang datang dan yang pergi, sehingga makanpun mereka tidak sempat. Maka berangkatlah mereka untuk mengasingkan diri dengan perahu ke tempat yang sunyi. Tetapi pada waktu mereka bertolak banyak orang melihat mereka dan mengetahui tujuan mereka. Dengan mengambil jalan darat segeralah datang orang dari semua kota ke tempat itu sehingga mendahului mereka. Ketika Yesus mendarat, Ia melihat sejumlah besar orang banyak, maka tergeraklah hati-Nya oleh belas kasihan kepada mereka, karena mereka seperti domba yang tidak mempunyai gembala. Lalu mulailah Ia mengajarkan banyak hal kepada mereka.

神は宣告します。「わたしは、民の羊飼いである指導者に災いを下す。彼らは、世話をしなければならない者を滅ぼし、散らしたからだ。おまえたちは、群れを安全に導くどころか、置き去りにし、滅びへと追いやった。わたしは、おまえたちが彼らに行った悪のために刑罰を下す。一方、群れの残りを、わたしが追いやった所から集め、元の牧場に連れ戻す。彼らは再び子を生んで増える。また彼らの上に、責任感の強い羊飼いを立てる。彼らは二度と怖がる必要はなく、四六時中、守られるようになる。やがて、わたしがダビデの王座に、正義の若枝を置く時がくる。彼は知恵と正義をもって治める王となり、地上に正しさが行き渡るようにする。『主は私たちの正義』が、彼の呼び名だ。その時、ユダは救われ、イスラエルは平和のうちに過ごす。
第二読み物（エペソ人第2章：第13詩–第18詩）
この読み物はエペソ人への手紙です。
しかし、以前は神から遠く離れていたあなたがたも、キリスト・イエスがその血をもってなしてくださったことによって、今では、神のそば近くにいるのです。キリストこそ、私たちの平和の道です。この方は、私たちユダヤ人とあなたがた外国人とを一つの家族とし、両者を隔てていた壁を打ちこわして、平和をつくり出してくださいました。ご自分の死によって、互いの激しい敵意を除いてくださったのです。その敵意の原因は、ユダヤ人を特別扱いし、外国人をのけ者にするユダヤ教のさまざまな戒律でした。その律法制度自体を無効にするために、キリストは死んでくださったのです。そして、互いに対立していた二つのものを融合させ、新しい一つの体をつくり上げて、平和を実現されました。両者が神と和解し、同じ体のそれぞれの器官になったので、互いの怒りは消え去りました。こうして互いの反目は、十字架によって終わりを告げたのです。そして、キリストは、遠く離れていたあなたがた外国人にも、近くにいた私たちユダヤ人にも、平和をもたらしてくださいました。このキリストによって、ユダヤ人も外国人も、一つの御霊に助けられつつ父である神のもとに行くことができるのです。

さて、十二人の弟子は旅を終えてイエスのもとに帰り、自分たちのしてきたこと、また、行った先々で人々に教えたことなどを、くわしく報告しました。イエスは弟子たちに言われました。「さあ、しばらく人ごみを避けて休みましょう。」イエスのもとには人の出入りが多く、食事をする暇もなかったからです。彼らは舟に乗り、静かな場所へ出かけました。ところが多くの群衆がそれと気づき、岸づたいに走って行って、一行が上陸するのを待ちかまえていました。舟から上がられたイエスの前には、おびただしい数の人々が集まっていました。まるで、羊飼いのいない羊のような群衆を見て、イエスは深くあわれみ、いろいろなことを教え始められました。

しかしあなたがたは、以前は遠く離れていたが、今や、キリスト・イエスにおいて、キリストの血によって近い者となったのです。実に、キリストはわたしたちの平和であります。二つのものを一つにし、御自分の肉において敵意という隔ての壁を取り壊し、規則と戒律ずくめの律法を廃棄されました。こうしてキリストは、双方を御自分において一人の新しい人に造り上げて平和を実現し、十字架を通して、両者を一つの体として神と和解させ、十字架によって敵意を滅ぼされました。キリストはおいでになり、遠く離れているあなたがたにも、また、近くにいる人々にも、平和の福音を告げ知らせられました。それで、このキリストによってわたしたち両方の者が一つの霊に結ばれて、御父に近づくことができるのです。

さて、使徒たちはイエスのところに集まって来て、自分たちが行ったことや教えたことを残らず報告した。イエスは、「さあ、あなたがただけで人里離れた所へ行って、しばらく休むがよい」と言われた。出入りする人が多くて、食事をする暇もなかったからである。そこで、一同は舟に乗って、自分たちだけで人里離れた所へ行った。ところが、多くの人々は彼らが出かけて行くのを見て、それと気づき、すべての町からそこへ一斉に駆けつけ、彼らより先に着いた。イエスは舟から上がり、大勢の群衆を見て、飼い主のいない羊のような有様を深く憐れみ、いろいろと教え始められた。

主は私の敵の前で、私のためにすばらしい食卓を備え、大切な客としてもてなしてくださいます。それは、あふれるほどの祝福です。
生きている限り、主の恵みといつくしみが、私を追ってきます。やがて、私は主の家に帰り、いつまでもあなたとともに暮らすことでしょう。

“Guai ai pastori che fanno perire e disperdono il gregge del mio pascolo.” Oracolo del Signore. Perciò dice il Signore, Dio di Israele, contro i pastori che devono pascere il mio popolo: “Voi avete disperso le mie pecore, le avete scacciate e non ve ne siete preoccupati; ecco io mi occuperò di voi e della malvagità delle vostre azioni. Oracolo del Signore. Radunerò io stesso il resto delle mie pecore da tutte le regioni dove le ho lasciate scacciare e le farò tornare ai loro pascoli; saranno feconde e si moltiplicheranno. Costituirò sopra di esse pastori che le faranno pascolare, così che non dovranno più temere né sgomentarsi; di esse non ne mancherà neppure una.” Oracolo del Signore. “Ecco, verranno giorni — dice il Signore — nei quali susciterò a Davide un germoglio giusto, che regnerà da vero re e sarà saggio ed eserciterà il diritto e la giustizia sulla terra. Nei suoi giorni Giuda sarà salvato e Israele starà sicuro nella sua dimora; questo sarà il nome con cui lo chiameranno: Signore-nostra-giustizia.”
Seconda lettura (Efesini 2: 13–18)
Una lettura della lettera di San Paolo agli Efesini.
Ora invece, in Cristo Gesù, voi che un tempo eravate i lontani siete diventati i vicini grazie al sangue di Cristo. Egli infatti è la nostra pace, colui che ha fatto dei due un popolo solo, abbattendo il muro di separazione che era frammezzo, cioè l'inimicizia, annullando, per mezzo della sua carne, la legge fatta di prescrizioni e di decreti, per creare in se stesso, dei due, un solo uomo nuovo, facendo la pace, e per riconciliare tutti e due con Dio in un solo corpo, per mezzo della croce, distruggendo in se stesso l'inimicizia. Egli è venuto perciò ad annunziare pace a voi che eravate lontani e pace a coloro che erano vicini. Per mezzo di lui possiamo presentarci, gli uni e gli altri, al Padre in un solo Spirito.
Vangelo (Marco 6: 30–34)
Una lettura del Santo Vangelo secondo San Marco.
Gli apostoli si riunirono attorno a Gesù e gli riferirono tutto quello che avevano fatto e insegnato. Ed egli disse loro: “Venite in disparte, in un luogo solitario, e riposatevi un pò.” Era infatti molta la folla che andava e veniva e non avevano più neanche il tempo di mangiare. Allora partirono sulla barca verso un luogo solitario, in disparte. Molti però li videro partire e capirono, e da tutte le città cominciarono ad accorrere là a piedi e li precedettero. Sbarcando, vide molta folla e si commosse per loro, perché erano come pecore senza pastore, e si mise a insegnare loro molte cose.
