First reading (Exodus 20: 1–17)
A reading from the book of Exodus.
In those days, God delivered all these commandments: "I, the LORD, am your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. You shall not have other gods besides me. You shall not carve idols for yourselves in the shape of anything in the sky above or on the earth below or in the waters beneath the earth; you shall not bow down before them or worship them. For I, the LORD, your God, am a jealous God, inflicting punishment for their fathers' wickedness on the children of those who hate me, down to the third and fourth generation; but bestowing mercy down to the thousandth generation on the children of those who love me and keep my commandments. "You shall not take the name of the LORD, your God, in vain. For the LORD will not leave unpunished the one who takes his name in vain. "Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day. Six days you may labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD, your God. No work may be done then either by you, or your son or daughter, or your male or female slave, or your beast, or by the alien who lives with you. In six days, the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them; but on the seventh day he rested. That is why the LORD has blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. "Honor your father and your mother, that you may have a long life in the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you. You shall not kill. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male or female slave, nor his ox or ass, nor anything else that belongs to him."
Second reading (1 Corinthians 1: 22–25)
A reading from the first letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians.
Brothers and sisters: Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we proclaim Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those who are called, Jews and Greeks alike, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.
Gospel (John 2: 13–25)
A reading from the holy Gospel according to John.
Since the Passover of the Jews was near, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. He found in the temple area those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves, as well as the moneychangers seated there. He made a whip out of cords and drove them all out of the temple area, with the sheep and oxen, and spilled the coins of the moneychangers and overturned their tables, and to those who sold doves he said, "Take these out of here, and stop making my Father's house a marketplace." His disciples recalled the words of Scripture, ‘Zeal for your house will consume me.’ At this, the Jews answered and said to him, "What sign can you show us for doing this?" Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up." The Jews said, "This temple has been under construction for forty-six years, and you will raise it up in three days?" But he was speaking about the temple of his body. Therefore, when he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they came to believe the Scripture and the word Jesus had spoken. While he was in Jerusalem for the feast of Passover, many began to believe in his name when they saw the signs he was doing. But Jesus would not trust himself to them because he knew them all, and did not need anyone to testify about human nature. He himself understood it well.

Second reading (1 Corinthians 1: 22–25)
A reading from the first letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians.
The Jews ask for miracles and the Greeks for a higher knowledge, while we proclaim a crucified Messiah. For the Jews, what a great scandal! And for the Greeks, what nonsense! But he is Christ, the power of God and the wisdom of God for those called by God among both Jews and Greeks. In reality, the "foolishness" of God is wiser than humans, and the "weakness" of God is stronger than humans.
Gospel (John 2: 13–25)
A reading from the holy Gospel according to John.
As the Passover of the Jews was at hand, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the Temple court he found merchants selling oxen, sheep and doves, and money-changers seated at their tables. Making a whip of cords, Jesus drove them all out of the Temple court, together with the oxen and sheep. He knocked over the tables of the money-changers, scattering the coins, and ordered the people selling doves, "Take all this away and stop turning my Father's house into a marketplace!" Jesus' disciples recalled the words of Scripture: Zeal for your House devours me as a fire. The Jews then questioned Jesus, "Where are the miraculous signs which give you the right to do this?" And Jesus stated, "Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up." The Jews then replied, "The building of this temple has already taken forty-six years, and you will raise it up in three days?" Actually, Jesus was referring to the temple of his body. Only when he had risen from the dead did his disciples remember these words; then they believed both the Scripture and the words Jesus had spoken. Jesus stayed in Jerusalem during the Passover Festival and many believed in his Name when they saw the miraculous signs he performed. But Jesus did not trust himself to them, because he knew all of them. He had no need of evidence about anyone for he himself knew what there was in each one.
Responsorial Psalm (Psalm 19) (Verses 8–11)

No te postres ante esos dioses, ni les sirvas, porque yo, el Señor, tu Dios, soy un Dios celoso. Yo pido cuentas a hijos, nietos y biznietos por la maldad de sus padres que no me quisieron. Pero me muestro favorable hasta mil generaciones con los que me aman y observan mis mandamientos. No tomarás en vano el nombre del Señor, tu Dios, porque el Señor no dejará sin castigo a aquel que toma su nombre en vano. Acuérdate del día del Sábado, para santificarlo. Salmo responsorial (Salmo 19) (Versículos 8–11)
La respuesta es: Señor, tienes las palabras de vida eterna.
• La ley del Señor es perfecta, reconforta el alma; el testimonio del Señor es verdadero, da sabiduría al simple.
• Los preceptos del Señor son rectos, alegran el corazón; los mandamientos del Señor son claros, iluminan los ojos.
• La palabra del Señor es pura, permanece para siempre; los juicios del Señor son la verdad, enteramente justos.
• Son más atrayentes que el oro, que el oro más fino; más dulces que la miel, más que el jugo del panal.
Segunda lectura (1 corintios 1: 22–25)

Los judíos quieren ver señales milagrosas y los griegos buscan sabiduría; pero nosotros anunciamos a un Mesías crucificado. Esto resulta ofensivo a los judíos, y a los no judíos les parece una tontería; pero para los que Dios ha llamado, sean judíos o griegos, ese Mesías es el poder y la sabiduría de Dios. Pues lo que en Dios puede parecer una tontería es mucho más sabio que toda sabiduría humana; y lo que en Dios puede parecer debilidad es más fuerte que toda fuerza humana.
Evangelio (Juan 2: 13–25)
Una lectura del Evangelio Santo según el San Juan.
Se acercaba la Pascua de los judíos. Jesús subió a Jerusalén y encontró en el Templo a los vendedores de bueyes, ovejas y palomas y a los cambistas sentados delante de sus mesas. Hizo un látigo de cuerdas y los echó a todos del Templo, junto con sus ovejas y sus bueyes; desparramó las monedas de los cambistas, derribó sus mesas y dijo a los vendedores de palomas: “Saquen esto de aquí y no hagan de la casa de mi Padre una casa de comercio.” Y sus discípulos recordaron las palabras de la Escritura: El celo por tu Casa me consumirá. Entonces los judíos le preguntaron: “¿Qué signo nos das para obrar así?” Jesús les respondió: “Destruyan este templo y en tres días lo volveré a levantar.” Los judíos le dijeron: “Han sido necesarios cuarenta y seis años para construir este Templo, ¿y tú lo vas a levantar en tres días?” Pero el templo al que Jesús se refería era su propio cuerpo. Por eso, cuando resucitó, sus discípulos se acordaron de lo que había dicho y creyeron en la Escritura y en las palabras de Jesús. Mientras Jesús estaba en Jerusalén, en la fiesta de la Pascua, muchos creyeron en él al ver las señales milagrosas que hacía. Pero Jesús no confiaba en ellos, porque los conocía a todos. No necesitaba ser informado acerca de nadie, pues él mismo conocía el corazón de cada uno.

Kepada pedagang-pedagang merpati Ia berkata: "Ambil semuanya ini dari sini, jangan kamu membuat rumah Bapa-Ku menjadi tempat berjualan." Maka teringatlah murid-murid-Nya, bahwa ada tertulis: "Cinta untuk rumah-Mu menghanguskan Aku." Orang-orang Yahudi menantang Yesus, katanya: "Tanda apakah dapat Engkau tunjukkan kepada kami, bahwa Engkau berhak bertindak demikian?" 第二読み物（コリント人第1章：第22詩–第25詩）
この読み物はコリント人への手紙一です。
これは、ユダヤ人にはつまずきに思われるでしょう。彼らは、正しさを証拠立てるような、天からのしるしを求めているからです。また、ギリシヤ人には愚かと思われるでしょう。彼らは、理性で納得できるか、賢明と思われることしか信じないからです。それで、人々を救うために死なれたキリストについて話すと、ユダヤ人は腹を立て、外国人は「まるで無意味だ」と言うのです。しかし神は、ユダヤ人でも外国人でも、救いへと招かれた人々の目を開いて、キリストこそ彼らを救う偉大な神の力であることを悟らせてくださいました。実に、キリストご自身こそ、人々を救うための、神の知恵に満ちたご計画の中心なのです。この「愚かしい」神の計画は、最高の知者の最も賢明な計画より、はるかにすぐれたものです。また、キリストの十字架上の死という神の弱さは、どんな人間の強さよりも強いのです。

ユダヤ人の過越の祭り（パン種を入れないパンを食べる、年に一度のユダヤ人の祭り）が近づき、イエスはエルサレムへ行かれました。宮の境内には、供え物用の牛や羊、鳩を売る商人たちと、座って両替をしている人たちがいました。それを見て、イエスはなわでむちを作り、商売人たちをみな追い出し、鳩や羊や牛を追い散らし始めました。次々に両替人の台をひっくり返したので、お金があたり一面に散らばりました。イエスは鳩を売る者たちに、「それを持って出て行きなさい。父の家を金もうけの場所にしてはいけません」と言われました。そのとき弟子たちは、「神の家を思う熱心が、わたしを焼き尽くす」という、聖書の預言を思い出したのです。おさまらないユダヤ人の指導者たちは、かんかんになって言いました。「いったい何の権利があってこの人たちを追い出すのか。そんな権威を神から与えられているのだったら、その証拠に奇跡を見せてもらおう。」イエスはお答えになりました。「わかりました。この神殿をこわしなさい。三日で建て直してみせましょう。」「なんということを！この神殿は建てるのに四十六年もかかったのだ。それを三日で建てると言うのか。」ユダヤ人たちはあきれ返りました。しかし、イエスが「この神殿」と言われたのは、ご自分の体のことだったのです。イエスが復活されたあとで、弟子たちはこの時のことを思い出しました。そして、イエスがご自分のことを聖書のことばを引用して話されたのであり、そのとおりになったことを知ったのです。過越の祭りの時、イエスがエルサレムで奇跡を行われたので、多くの人が、「この方は確かにメシヤだ」と信じるようになりました。しかしイエスは、そういう人々を信用されたわけではありません。人間がどれほど変わりやすいものかを知り尽くしておられたからです。

ユダヤ人の過越祭が近づいたので、イエスはエルサレムへ上って行かれた。そして、神殿の境内で牛や羊や鳩を売っている者たちと、座って両替をしている者たちを御覧になった。イエスは縄で鞭を作り、羊や牛をすべて境内から追い出し、両替人の金をまき散らし、その台を倒し、鳩を売る者たちに言われた。「このような物はここから運び出せ。わたしの父の家を商売の家としてはならない。」弟子たちは、「あなたの家を思う熱意がわたしを食い尽くす」と書いてあるのを思い出した。ユダヤ人たちはイエスに、「あなたは、こんなことをするからには、どんなしるしをわたしたちに見せるつもりか」と言った。イエスは答えて言われた。「この神殿を壊してみよ。三日で建て直してみせる。」それでユダヤ人たちは、「この神殿は建てるのに四十六年もかかったのに、あなたは三日で建て直すのか」と言った。イエスの言われる神殿とは、御自分の体のことだったのである。イエスが死者の中から復活されたとき、弟子たちは、イエスがこう言われたのを思い出し、聖書とイエスの語られた言葉とを信じた。イエスは過越祭の間エルサレムにおられたが、そのなさったしるしを見て、多くの人がイエスの名を信じた。しかし、イエス御自身は彼らを信用されなかった。それは、すべての人のことを知っておられ、人間についてだれからも証ししてもらう必要がなかったからである。イエスは、何が人間の心の中にあるかをよく知っておられたのである。
Unang pagbasa (Exodo 20: 1–17)

Ang lahat ng ito'y sinabi ng Diyos: “Ako ang Panginoon, ang iyong Diyos na naglabas sa iyo sa Egipto at nagpalaya sa iyo mula sa pagkaalipin. “Huwag kang sasamba sa ibang diyos, maliban sa akin. “Huwag kang gagawa ng imahen ng anumang nilalang na nasa langit, nasa lupa, o nasa tubig upang sambahin. Huwag mo silang yuyukuran ni sasambahin sapagkat akong ang Panginoon na iyong Diyos ay mapanibughuing Diyos. Ang kasalanan ng mga magulang ay sinisingil ko sa kanilang mga anak hanggang sa ikatlo at ikaapat na salinlahi. Ngunit ipinadarama ko ang aking pag-ibig sa libu-libong salinlahi ng mga umiibig sa akin at tumutupad sa aking mga kautusan. “Huwag mong gagamitin sa walang kabuluhan ang pangalan ng Panginoon na iyong Diyos. Tiyak na paparusahan ko ang sinumang gumamit nito nang walang kabuluhan. “Lagi mong tandaan at ilaan para sa akin ang Araw ng Pamamahinga. Anim na araw kang magtatrabaho, at tapusin mo ang dapat gawin. Subalit ang ikapitong araw ay para sa Panginoon na iyong Diyos; ito ay Araw ng Pamamahinga. Sa araw na ito'y huwag magtrabaho ang sinuman sa inyo; kayo, ang inyong mga anak, mga aliping lalaki o babae, ang inyong mga alagang hayop, ni ang mga dayuhang nakikipamayan sa inyo. Anim na araw kong nilikha ang langit, ang lupa, ang mga dagat at ang lahat ng nasa mga ito. Ngunit namahinga ako sa ikapitong araw. Kaya't ito'y aking pinagpala at inilaan para sa akin. Igalang mo ang iyong ama at ina. Sa gayo'y mabubuhay ka nang matagal sa lupaing ibinibigay sa inyo ng Panginoon na inyong Diyos. Huwag kang papatay. Huwag kang mangangalunya. Huwag kang magnanakaw. Huwag kang sasaksi nang walang katotohanan laban sa iyong kapwa. Huwag mong pagnanasaang maangkin ang sambahayan ng iyong kapwa: ang kanyang asawa, mga alilang lalaki o babae, mga baka, asno o ang anumang pag-aari niya.”
Ikalawang pagbasa (1 Corinto 1: 22–25)
Ang pagbasa mula sa unang sulat ni San Pablo sa mga taga-Corinto.
Ang mga Judio'y humihingi ng himala bilang katunayan. Karunungan naman ang hinahanap ng mga Griego. Ngunit ang ipinapangaral namin ay si Cristo na ipinako sa krus, na para sa mga Judio ay isang katitisuran at para sa mga Hentil ay isang kahangalan. Subalit sa mga tinawag ng Diyos, maging Judio o maging Griego, si Cristo ang kapangyarihan at karunungan ng Diyos. Sapagkat ang inaakala nilang kahangalan ng Diyos ay karunungang higit pa sa karunungan ng tao, at ang inaakala nilang kahinaan ng Diyos ay kalakasang higit pa sa kalakasan ng tao.

Malapit na ang Paskwa ng mga Judio kaya't pumunta si Jesus sa Jerusalem. Nakita niya sa Templo ang mga nagtitinda ng mga baka, tupa at kalapati, at ang mga namamalit ng salapi. Kumuha siya ng lubid at ginawa iyong panghagupit, at ipinagtabuyan niyang palabas ang mga nagtitinda, pati na ang mga baka at tupa. Isinabog niya ang salapi ng mga namamalit ng pera at ipinagtataob ang kanilang mga mesa. Pinagsabihan niya ang mga nagtitinda ng kalapati, “Alisin ninyo rito ang mga iyan! Huwag ninyong gawing palengke ang bahay ng aking Ama!” Naalala ng kanyang mga alagad ang sinasabi sa kasulatan, “Ang malasakit ko sa iyong bahay ang tutupok sa akin.” Dahil dito'y tinanong siya ng mga pinuno ng Judio, “Anong himala ang maipapakita mo upang patunayang may karapatan kang gawin ito?” Sumagot si Jesus, “Gibain ninyo ang Templong ito, at sa loob ng tatlong araw ay muli ko itong itatayo.” Sinabi ng mga Judio, “Apatnapu't anim na taong ginawa ang Templong ito, at itatayo mo sa loob lamang ng tatlong araw?” Ngunit ang templong tinutukoy ni Jesus ay ang kanyang katawan. Kaya't nang siya'y muling nabuhay, naalala ng kanyang mga alagad ang sinabi niyang ito, at sila'y naniwala sa kasulatan at sa sinabi ni Jesus. Nang Pista ng Paskwa ay nasa Jerusalem si Jesus. Marami ang naniwala sa kanya nang makita nila ang mga himalang ginagawa niya. Subalit hindi ipinagkatiwala ni Jesus ang kanyang sarili sa kanila, sapagkat kilala niya ang lahat ng mga tao. Hindi na kailangang may magsabi pa sa kanya tungkol sa kaninuman, sapagkat nalalaman niya ang nasa isip ng lahat ng tao.
Salmong tugon (Mga Awit 19) (Mga berso 8–11)

Ang mga utos ng Panginoon ay makatuwiran, ito'y nagpapasaya ng puso at kalooban. Ang mga tagubilin ng Panginoon ay tama, nagbibigay sa isipan ng hustong pang-unawa.
Paggalang at pagsunod sa Panginoon ay dalisay, magpapatuloy ito magpakailanman; ang mga hatol ng Panginoon ay tunay na makatarungan, patas at walang kinikilingan.
Ang mga utos mo, Panginoon, ay babala sa iyong lingkod, may malaking gantimpala kapag aking sinusunod.
Mas kanaisnais pa ito kaysa gintong lantay, mas matamis pa kaysa pulot ng pukyutan.
