First Reading (Isaiah 25: 6–10)
A reading from the book of the prophet Isaiah.
On this mountain the Lord Sabaoth will prepare for all peoples a feast of rich food and choice wines, meat full of marrow, fine wine strained. On this mountain he will destroy the pall cast over all peoples, this very shroud spread over all nations, and death will be no more. The Lord God will wipe away the tears from all cheeks and eyes; he will take away the humiliation of his people all over the world: for the Lord has spoken. On that day you will state: This is our God. We have waited for him to save us, let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation. For on his mountain the hand of the Lord rests. Moab instead will be trodden down, as straw trodden down on a dunghill.
Second Reading (Philippians 4: 12–14 and 19–20)
A reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Philippians.
Brothers and sisters: I know what it is to be in want and what it is to have plenty. I am trained for both: to be hungry or satisfied, to have much or little. I can do all things in him who strengthens me. However you did right in sharing my trials. God himself will provide you with everything you need, according to his riches, and show you his generosity in Christ Jesus. Glory to God, our Father, forever and ever. Amen.
Gospel (Matthew 22: 1–14)
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew.
Jesus went on speaking to the chief priests, the teachers of the Law, and the Jewish authorities in parables: "This story throws light on the kingdom of heaven. A king celebrated the wedding of his son. He sent his servants to call the invited guests to the wedding feast, but the guests refused to come. Again he sent other servants ordering them to state to the invited guests: 'I have prepare a banquet, slaughtered my fattened calves and other animals, and now everything is ready: come then, to the wedding feast.' But they paid no attention and went away, some to their fields, and others to their work. While the rest seized the servants of the king, insulted them and killed them. The king became angry. He sent his troops to destroy those murderers and burn their city. Then he stated to his servants: 'The wedding banquet is prepared, but the invited guests are not worthy. Go, then, to the crossroads and invite everyone you find to the wedding feast.' The servants went out at once into the streets and gathered everyone they found, good and bad alike, so that the hall was filled with guests. The king came in to see those who were at table, and he noticed a man not wearing the festal garment. So he stated to him: 'Friend, how did you get in without the wedding garment?' But the man remained silent. So the king stated to his servants: 'Bind his hands and feet and throw him into the dark where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.' Know that many are called, but few are chosen."

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me besides the still waters, he restores my soul.

ReplyDeleteYahvé de los Ejércitos está preparando para todos los pueblos, en este cerro, una comida con jugosos asados y buenos vinos, un banquete de carne y vinos escogidos. En este cerro quitará el velo de luto que cubría a todos los pueblos y la mortaja que envolvía a todas las naciones. Y destruirá para siempre a la Muerte. El Señor Yahvé enjugará las lágrimas de todos los rostros; devolverá la honra a su pueblo, y a toda la tierra, pues así lo ha dicho Yahvé. Entonces dirán: “Este es, en verdad, nuestro Dios, de quien esperábamos que nos salvara; éste es Yahvé, en quien confiábamos. Ahora estamos contentos y nos alegramos porque nos ha salvado; pues la mano de Yahvé se nota en este cerro.”

Yo sé vivir tanto en las privaciones como en la abundancia; estoy hecho absolutamente a todo, a la saciedad como al hambre, a tener sobra como a no tener nada. Yo lo puedo todo en aquel que me conforta. Sin embargo, ustedes hicieron bien en interesarse por mis necesidades. Dios colmará con magnificencia todas las necesidades de ustedes, conforme a su riqueza, en Cristo Jesús. A Dios, nuestro Padre, sea la gloria por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.
Evangelio (Mateo 22: 1–14)

Jesús siguió hablándoles por medio de parábolas: “Aprendan algo del Reino de los Cielos. Un rey preparaba las bodas de su hijo, por lo que mandó a sus servidores a llamar a los invitados a la fiesta. Pero éstos no quisieron venir. De nuevo envió a otros servidores con orden de decir a los invitados: ‘He preparado un banquete, ya hice matar terneras y otros animales gordos y todo está a punto. Vengan, pues, a la fiesta de la boda.’ Pero ellos no hicieron caso, sino que se fueron, unos a sus campos y otros a sus negocios. Los demás tomaron a los servidores del rey, los maltrataron y los mataron. El rey se enojó y envió a sus tropas, que dieron muerte a aquellos asesinos e incendiaron su ciudad. Después dijo a sus servidores: ‘El banquete de bodas sigue esperando, pero los que habían sido invitados no eran dignos. Vayan, pues, a las esquinas de las calles e inviten a la fiesta a todos los que encuentren.’ Los servidores salieron inmediatamente a los caminos y reunieron a todos los que encontraron, malos y buenos, de modo que la sala se llenó de invitados. Después entró el rey para conocer a los que estaban sentados a la mesa, y vio un hombre que no se había puesto el traje de fiesta. Le dijo: ‘Amigo, ¿cómo es que has entrado sin traje de bodas?’ El hombre se quedó callado. Entonces el rey dijo a sus servidores: ‘Atenlo de pies y manos y échenlo a las tinieblas de fuera. Allí será el llorar y el rechinar de dientes.’ Sepan que muchos son llamados, pero pocos son elegidos.”
