First Reading (Malachi 1:14 – 2: 2 and 8-10)
A reading from the book of the prophet Malachi.
Cursed be the cheater who, after promising me a bull from his herd, sacrifices a stunted animal. For I am a great King and my Name is respected through all the nations, says the Lord of hosts. If you do not concern yourself to glorify my Name, says the Lord of hosts, I will send the curse on you and curse even your blessings. But you, states the Lord of hosts, have strayed from my way, and moreover caused many to stumble because of your teaching. You have broken my covenant with Levi. Therefore I let all the people despise you and consider you unworthy, because you do not follow my ways and you show partiality in your judgments. Do we not all have the same father? Has the same God not created all of us? Why, then, does each of us betray his brother, defiling the Covenant of our ancestors?
Second Reading (1 Thessalonians 2: 7b-9 and 13)
A reading from the first letter of Saint Paul to the Thessalonians.
We were gentle with you, as a nursing mother who feeds and cuddles her baby. And so great is our concern that we are ready to give you, as well as the Gospel even our very lives, for you have become very dear to us. Remember our labor and toil; when we preached the Gospel, we worked day and night so as not to be a burden to you. This is why we never cease giving thanks to God for, on receiving our message, you accepted it, not as human teaching, but as the word of God. That is what it really is, and as such it is at work in you who believe.
Gospel (Matthew 23: 1-12)
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew.
Jesus stated this to the crowds and to his disciples: "The teachers of the Law and the Pharisees sat on the seat of Moses. So you shall do and observe all they say, but do not do as they do, for they do not do what they say. They tie up heavy burdens and load them on the shoulders of the people, but they do not even raise a finger to move them. They do everything in order to be seen by people; so they wear very wide bands of the Law around their foreheads, and robes with large tassels. They enjoy the first place at feasts and reserved seats in the synagogues, and being greeted in the marketplace and being called 'Master' by the people. But you, do not let yourselves be called Master because you have only one Master, and all of you are brothers and sisters. Neither should you call anyone on earth Father, because you have only one Father, he who is in heaven. Nor should you be called leader, because Christ is the only leader for you. Let the greatest among you be the servant of all. For whoever makes himself great will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself shall be made great."

Responsorial Psalm (Psalm 131) (Verses 1-3)

O Lord, my heart is not proud nor do I have arrogant eyes. I am not engrossed in ambitious matters, nor in things too great for me.
I have quieted and stilled in my soul like a weaned child on it's mother's lap; like a contented child is my soul.

Una lectura del Evangelio santo según Mateo.
Jesús dice esto a la multitud y sus discípulos: “Los profesores de la Ley y los Fariseos se sientan en el asiento de Moisés. Así, ustedes harán y observar todo ellos dicen, pero no hagan como ellos hacen, para ellos no hacen qué ellos dicen. Ellos atan cargas pesadas, y cargarlos en los hombros de las personas, pero ustedes no levantan un dedo para mover ellos. Ellos hacen todo para estar visto de las personas, así ellos llevan pañuelos de colores de la Ley alrededor sus frentes, y togas con borlas grandes. Ellos disfrutan el primer lugar a fiestas y asientos reservados en las sinagogas, y estando saludo en el mercado y se llamado ‘Maestro’ por las personas. Pero ustedes, no permiten sí mismos se llamado Maestro porque ustedes tienen solo uno Maestro, y todos de ustedes son hermanos y hermanas. Ustedes no llaman ninguna persona en tierra Padre, porque ustedes tienen solo uno Padre, él quien está en cielo. Aún ustedes no deberían ser llamado líder, porque Cristo es el solo líder para ustedes. Permiten los mayores entre ustedes ser sirvientes para ustedes. Por quienquiera sea grande, será humillado, y quienquiera humille él/ella mismo/misma será grande.

ReplyDeleteNo he visto nunca lo, así veré Actividad Paranormal ahora. El año pasado, vi "El Anillo" (para la duodécima vez) y alguna película mala de horror que olvido el nombre. Probaré ver Actividad Paranormal este año.

Porque yo soy un gran Rey, dice el Señor de los ejércitos, y mi Nombre es temible entre las naciones. Si no escuchan y no se deciden a dar gloria a mi Nombre, dice el Señor de los ejércitos, yo enviaré sobre ustedes la maldición y maldeciré sus bendiciones; ya las he maldecido, porque ustedes no se deciden a hacer eso. Pero ustedes se han desviado del camino, han hecho tropezar a muchos con su doctrina, han pervertido la alianza con Leví, dice el Señor de los ejércitos. Por eso yo los he hecho despreciables y viles para todo el pueblo, porque ustedes no siguen mis caminos y hacen acepción de personas al aplicar la Ley. ¿No tenemos todos un solo Padre? ¿No nos ha creado un solo Dios? ¿Por qué nos traicionamos unos a otros, profanando así la alianza de nuestros padres?
Salmo responsorial (Salmo 131) (Versículos 1–3)
La respuesta es: En ti, Señor, he encontrado mi paz.
• Mi corazón no se ha ensoberbecido, Señor, ni mis ojos se han vuelto altaneros. No he pretendido grandes cosas ni he tenido aspiraciones desmedidas.
• No, yo aplaco y modero mis deseos: como un niño tranquilo en brazos de su madre, así está mi alma dentro de mí.
• Espere Israel en el Señor, desde ahora y para siempre.
Segunda lectura (1 Tesalonicenses 2: 7B–9 y 13)
Una lectura de la primera carta de san Pablo a los tesalonicenses.
Al contrario, fuimos tan condescendientes con ustedes, como una madre que alimenta y cuida a sus hijos. Sentíamos por ustedes tanto afecto, que deseábamos entregarles, no solamente la Buena Noticia de Dios, sino también nuestra propia vida: tan queridos llegaron a sernos. Recuerden, hermanos, nuestro trabajo y nuestra fatiga cuando les predicamos la Buena Noticia de Dios, trabajáramos día y noche para no serles una carga. Nosotros, por nuestra parte, no cesamos de dar gracias a Dios, porque cuando recibieron la Palabra que les predicamos, ustedes la aceptaron no como palabra humana, sino como lo que es realmente, como Palabra de Dios, que actúa en ustedes, los que creen.
Evangelio (Mateo 23: 1–12)

Entonces Jesús habló tanto para el pueblo como para sus discípulos: “Los maestros de la Ley y los fariseos han ocupado el puesto que dejó Moisés. Hagan y cumplan todo lo que ellos dicen, pero no los imiten, porque ellos enseñan y no practican. Preparan pesadas cargas, muy difíciles de llevar, y las echan sobre las espaldas de la gente, pero ellos ni siquiera levantan un dedo para moverlas. Todo lo hacen para ser vistos por los hombres. Miren esas largas citas de la Ley que llevan en la frente y los largos flecos de su manto. Les gusta ocupar los primeros lugares en los banquetes y los asientos reservados en las sinagogas. Les agrada que los saluden en las plazas y que la gente los llame Maestro. Lo que es ustedes, no se dejen llamar Maestro, porque no tienen más que un Maestro, y todos ustedes son hermanos. No llamen Padre a nadie en la tierra, porque ustedes tienen un solo Padre, el que está en el Cielo. Tampoco se dejen ustedes llamar Guía, porque ustedes no tienen más Guía que Cristo. El más grande entre ustedes se hará el servidor de todos. Porque el que se pone por encima, será humillado, y el que se rebaja, será puesto en alto.”
