First Reading (Sirach 27:30 – 28:7)
A reading from the book of Sirach.
Grudge and wrath, these also are abominations in which sinful people excel. He who demands revenge will suffer the vengeance of the Lord who keeps as strict account of his sins. Forgive the mistakes of your neighbor and you may ask that your sins be forgiven. If a man bears resentment against another, how can he ask God for healing? If he has no compassion on others, how can he pray of forgiveness for his sins? As long as he, mere flesh, is resentful, who will obtain his pardon? Remember your end and give up hatred; keep in mind your final corruption in the grave and keep the commandments. Remember the commandments and do not bear grudges against your neighbor. Remember the covenant with the Most High and overlook the offense.
Second Reading (Romans 14: 7-9)
A reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Romans.
Brothers and sisters: None of us lives for himself, nor dies for himself. If we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord. Either in life or in death, we belong to the Lord. Christ experienced death and life to be Lord both of the living and of the dead.
Gospel (Matthew 18: 21-35)
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew.
Peter asked Jesus, "Lord, how many times must I forgive the offenses of my brother or sister? Seven times?" Jesus answered, "No, not seven times, but seventy-seven times. This story throws light on the kingdom of heaven. A king decided to settle the accounts of his servants. Among the first was one who owed him ten thousand gold ingots. As the man could not repay the debt, the king commanded that he be sold as a slave with his wife, children and all his goods in payment. The official threw himself at the feet of the king and stated, 'Give me time, and I will pay you back everything.' The king took pity on him and not only set him free but even canceled his debt. This official then left the king's presence and he met one of his companions who owed him a hundred pieces of silver. He grabbed him by the neck and almost strangled him, shouting, 'Pay me what you owe!' His companion threw himself at his feet and asked him, 'Give me time, and I will pay everything.' The other did not agree, but sent him to prison until he had paid all his debt. His companions saw what happened. They were indignant and so they went and reported everything to their lord. Then the lord summoned his official and stated, 'Wicked servant, I forgave you all that you owed when you begged me to do so. Were you not bound to have pity on your companion as I had pity on you?' The lord was now angry, so he handed his servant over to be punished, until he had paid his whole debt." Jesus added, "So will my heavenly Father do with you unless each of you sincerely forgive your brother or sister."

Una lectura del libro de Sirach.
Rencor e ira, estos son abominaciones en cual las personas pecadores sobresalen. Él quien demande venganza sufrirá la venganza del Señor quien guarda una cuenta estricta de los pecados. Perdona los errores de sus vecinos y usted puede pedir que sus pecados ser perdonado. Si un hombre tiene resentimiento en contra de otros, ¿cómo puede pedir Dios para curando? Si no tiene compasión en otros, ¿cómo reza de perdón por sus pecados? Mientras él, carne mera, es resentido, ¿quién obtendrá su perdón? Recuerda su terminación y entregar su odio; guarda en su memoria su corrupción final en la tumba y guarda los mandamientos. Recuerda los mandamientos y no tenga rencores en contra de su vecino. Recuerda el pacto con el Altísimo e inspecciona la ofensa.

Una lectura de carta de Santo Paul a los Romanos.
Hermanos y hermanas: Nada de nosotros vive para él mismo, ni muere para él mismo. Si vivimos, vivimos para el Dios, y si morimos, morimos para el Dios. Cualquiera en vida o la muerte, somos parte del Señor. Cristo experimentó muerte y vida para ser Dios ambos de vivo y de la muerte.
Evangelio (Mateo 18: 21-35)
Una lectura del Evangelio Santo según San Mateo.
Pedro pregunta Jesús, “Señor, ¿cuántos veces necesito perdonar las ofensas de mi hermano o hermana? ¿Siete veces?” Jesús respondió, “No, no siete veces, pero setenta y siete veces. Esta historia echa luz on el reino de cielo. Un rey decidió para resolver las cuentas de sus sirvientes. Entre el primero es un sirviente quien debe diez miles lingotes oros. Cuando el hombre no puede repagar la deuda, el rey mandó que él ser vendido como un esclavo con su esposa, niños y todas sus cosas en pago. El sirviente se lanza de los pies del rey y dijo, ‘Dé me tiempo, y pagaré todos.’ El rey compadece él y no sólo pone él para ser libre, pero también cancelado la deuda. El sirviente entonces deja la presencia del rey y encontró uno de sus compañeros quien debe un cien piezas de plata. Él agarra del cuello y casi estrangulado él, grita, ‘¡Pague me que necesitas deber!’ Su compañero se echa de los pies del sirviente y pide él, ‘Dame tiempo, y pagaré todos.’ El sirviente no está de acuerdo, y encarceló él hasta paga todas sus deudas. Sus compañeros vieron que ha sucedido. Ustedes están enojados y reportan todos al rey. Entonces, el rey llama el sirviente y dijo, “Sirviente malo, perdoné usted todos que necesita deber cuando ha pedido para hacerlo. ¿No tiene compasión en su compañero como he tenido compasión en usted?’ El rey ahora está enojado, por lo tanto, rende su sirviente para ser penado, hasta ha pagado su deuda entero.” Jesús agregó, “Asimismo mi Padre celestial hará con usted a menos que cada de ustedes sinceramente perdonen su hermano o hermana.”

Creo en Jesús Cristo el sólo hijo nuestro Señor, quien se concibió por del poder de Espíritu Santo y nació de la Virgen María. Él sufrió de bajo Poncio Pilato, fue crucificado, muerto, y fue enterrado. Él descendió a la muerte, y en el tercer día, él subió de nuevo. Él subió al cielo, y está sentando de la mano derecha del Padre. Vendrá de nuevo para juzgar el vivo y la muerte. Creo en el Espíritu Santo, la Iglesia Católico Santo, la comunión de santos, el perdón de pecados, la resurrección del cuerpo, y vida eterna. Amén.

He forgives all you sins and heals all your sicknesses. He redeems your life from destruction and crowns you with love and compassion.
He will not always scold nor will he be angry forever. He does not treat us according to our sins, nor does he punish us as we deserve.

ReplyDeleteLet us pray. Father in heaven, Creator of all, look down upon your people in their moments of need, for you alone are the source of our peace. Bring us to the dignity which distinguishes the poor in spirit and show us how great is the call to serve, that we may share in the peace of Christ who offered his life in the service of all. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Lord, hear the prayers of your people and receive our gifts. May the worship of each one here bring salvation to all. Grant this through Christ our Lord.
ReplyDeleteFather, all-powerful and ever-living God, we do well always and everywhere to give you thanks. When your children sinned and wandered far from your friendship you reunited them with yourself through the blood of your Son and the power of the Holy Spirit. You gathered them into your Church, to be one as you, Father, are one with your Son and the Holy Spirit. You call them to be your people, to praise your wisdom in all your works. You make them the body of Christ, and the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit. In our joy we sing to your glory with all the choirs of angels. (After this, you sing the Sanctus.)
