First Reading (Habakkuk 1: 2–3 and 2: 2–4)
A reading from the book of the Prophet Habakkuk.
Lord, how long will I cry for help while you pay no attention to me? I denounce the oppression and you do not save. Why do you make me see injustice? Then the Lord replied to me and stated, "Write down the vision, inscribe it on tables so it can be easily read, since this is a vision for an appointed time; it will not fail but will be fulfilled in due time. If it delays, wait for it, for it will come and will not be deferred. Look: I do not look with favor on the one who gives away; the upright, on the other hand, will live by his faithfulness."
Second Reading (2 Timothy 1: 6–8 and 13–14)
A reading from the second letter of Saint Paul to Timothy.
Beloved: I invite you to fan into a flame the gift of God you received through the laying on of my hands. For God did not confer on us a spirit of bashfulness, but of strength, love and good judgment. Do not be ashamed of testifying to our Lord, nor of seeing me in chains. On the contrary, do your share in laboring for the Gospel with the strength of God. Follow the pattern of the sound doctrine which you have heard from me, concerning faith and love in Christ Jesus. Keep this precious deposit with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives within us.

The apostles stated to the Lord, "Increase our faith." And the Lord replied, "If you have faith even the size of a mustard seed, you may say to this tree: 'Be uprooted and plant yourself in the sea,' and it will obey you. Who among you would say to your servant coming from the fields after plowing or tending sheep: 'Come at once and sit down at the table.'? No, you tell him: 'Prepare my dinner. Put on your apron and wait on me while I eat and drink; you can eat and drink afterwards.' Do you thank this servant for doing what you commanded? So for you. When you have done all that you have been told to do, you must say: 'We are no more than servants; we have only done our duty."

Come, let us sing to the Lord, let make a joyful sound to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him giving thanks, with music and songs of praise.
Come and worship; let us bow down, kneel before the Lord, our Maker. He is our God, and we his people; the flock he leads and pastures.
Would that today you heard his voice! Do not be stubborn, as at Meribah, in the desert, on that day at Massah, when your ancestors challenged me, and they put me to the test.

¿Hasta cuándo, Señor, pediré auxilio sin que tú escuches, clamaré hacia ti: “¡Violencia!”, sin que tú salves? ¿Por qué me haces ver la iniquidad y te quedas mirando la opresión? No veo más que saqueo y violencia, hay contiendas y aumenta la discordia. El Señor me respondió y dijo: Escribe la visión, grábala sobre unas tablas para que se la pueda leer de corrido. Porque la visión aguarda el momento fijado, ansía llegar a término y no fallará; si parece que se demora, espérala, porque vendrá seguramente, y no tardará. El que no tiene el alma recta, sucumbirá, pero el justo vivirá por su fidelidad.
Salmo responsorial (Salmo 95) (Versículos 1–2 y 6–9)
La respuesta es: Si hoy escuchas su voz, no endurezcas tu corazón.
• ¡Vengan, cantemos con júbilo al Señor, aclamemos a la Roca que nos salva! ¡Lleguemos hasta él dándole gracias, aclamemos con música al Señor!
• ¡Entren, inclinémonos para adorarlo! ¡Doblemos la rodilla ante el Señor que nos creó! Porque él es nuestro Dios, y nosotros, el pueblo que él apacienta, las ovejas conducidas por su mano.
• No endurezcan su corazón como en Meribah, como en el día de Masa, en el desierto, cuando sus padres me tentaron y provocaron, aunque habían visto mis obras.
Segunda Lectura (2 Timoteo 1: 6–8 y 13–14)
Una lectura de la segunda carta de San Pablo a Timoteo.
Por eso te recomiendo que reavives el don de Dios que has recibido por la imposición de mis manos. Porque el Espíritu que Dios nos ha dado no es un espíritu de temor, sino de fortaleza, de amor y de sobriedad. No te avergüences del testimonio de nuestro Señor, ni tampoco de mí, que soy su prisionero. Al contrario, comparte conmigo los sufrimientos que es necesario padecer por Evangelio, animado con la fortaleza de Dios. Toma como norma las saludables lecciones de fe y de amor a Cristo Jesús que has escuchado de mí. Conserva lo que se te ha confiado, con la ayuda del Espíritu Santo que habita en nosotros.
Evangelio (Lucas 17: 5–10)

Los Apóstoles dijeron al Señor: “Auméntanos la fe.” Él respondió: “Si ustedes tuvieran fe del tamaño de un grano de mostaza, y dijeran a esa morera que está ahí: ‘Arráncate de raíz y plántate en el mar,’ ella les obedecería. Supongamos que uno de ustedes tiene un servidor para arar o cuidar el ganado. Cuando este regresa del campo, ¿acaso le dirá: ‘Ven pronto y siéntate a la mesa?’ ¿No le dirá más bien: ‘Prepárame la cena y recógete la túnica para servirme hasta que yo haya comido y bebido, y tú comerás y beberás después?’ ¿Deberá mostrarse agradecido con el servidor porque hizo lo que se le mandó? Así también ustedes, cuando hayan hecho todo lo que se les mande, digan: ‘Somos simples servidores, no hemos hecho más que cumplir con nuestro deber.’”

ReplyDeleteAng aklat na ito ay naglalaman ng pahayag ni Yahweh sa pamamagitan ni Propeta Habakuk.
O Yahweh, hanggang kailan ako hihingi ng tulong sa inyo, bago ninyo ako dinggin, bago ninyo ako iligtas sa karahasan? Bakit puro kaguluhan at kasamaan ang ipinapakita mo sa akin? Ito ang tugon ni Yahweh: “Isulat mo nang malinaw sa mga tapyas ng bato ang pangitaing ipahahayag ko sa iyo, upang sa isang sulyap ay mabasa agad at maipabatid ito. Isulat mo ito sapagkat hindi pa panahon upang ito ay maganap. Ngunit mabilis na lilipas ang panahon, at mangyayari ang ipinakita ko sa iyo. Bagama't parang mabagal ito, hintayin mo. Sapagkat ang espiritung ibinigay sa atin ng Diyos ay hindi espiritu ng kahinaan ng loob, kundi espiritu ng kapangyarihan, pag-ibig at pagpipigil sa sarili. Kaya't huwag kang mahihiyang magpatotoo para sa ating Panginoon, at huwag mo rin akong ikakahiya, na isang bilanggo alang-alang sa kanya. Sa halip, makihati ka sa pagtitiis para sa Magandang Balita. Umasa ka sa kapangyarihan ng Diyos. Hindi ba't ang sasabihin ninyo ay, ‘Ipaghanda mo ako ng hapunan, magbihis ka, at pagsilbihan mo ako habang ako'y kumakain. Pagkakain ko, saka ka kumain.’ Pinasasalamatan ba ng amo ang kanyang alipin dahil sinusunod siya nito?
