First Reading (2 Kings 5: 14–17)
A reading from the second book of Kings.
Naaman went down to the Jordan where he washed himself seven times as Elisha had ordered. His skin became soft like that of a child and he was cleansed. Then Naaman returned to the man of God with all his men. He entered and stated to him, "Now I know that there is no other God anywhere in the world but in Israel. I ask you to accept these gifts from your servant." But Elisha replied, "I swear by the Lord whom I serve, I will accept nothing." And however much Naaman insisted, Elisha would not accept his gifts. So Naaman told him, "Since you refuse, let me acquire some sacks of soil from your land – the quantity that two mules can carry. I shall use it to build an altar to the Lord, for I shall not offer sacrifices to any other god but him."
Second Reading (2 Timothy 2: 8–13)
A reading from the second letter of Saint Paul to Timothy.
Beloved: Remember Christ Jesus, risen from the dead, Jesus, son of David, as preached in my Gospel. For this Gospel I labor and even wear chains like an evildoer, but the word of God is not chained. And so I bear everything for the sake of the chosen people, that they, too, may obtain the salvation given to us in Christ Jesus and share eternal glory. This statement is true: If we have died with him, we shall also live with him; if we endure with him, we shall reign with him; if we deny him, he will also deny us; if we are unfaithful, he remains faithful for he cannot deny himself.

On the way to Jerusalem, Jesus was passing along the border between Samaria and Galilee, and as he entered a village, ten lepers came to meet him. Keeping their distance, they called to him, "Jesus, Master, have pity on us!" Then Jesus stated to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." Now, as they went their way, they found they were cured. One of them, as soon as he saw he was cleansed, turned back praising God in a loud voice, and throwing himself on his face before Jesus, he gave him thanks. This man was a Samaritan. Then Jesus stated, "Were not all ten healed? Where are the other nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God but this alien?" And Jesus stated to him, "Stand up and go your separate way, for your faith has saved you."

Bajó pues y se sumergió en el Jordán siete veces, tal como le había dicho el hombre de Dios. ¡Y después de eso su carne se volvió como la carne de un niñito; estaba sano! Entonces regresó donde el hombre de Dios con todos sus acompañantes, entró en su casa y se presentó ante él: “Ahora, dijo, sé que no hay más Dios en toda la tierra que el Dios de Israel. Acepta pues este presente de parte de tu servidor.” Eliseo le respondió: “Por la vida de Yahvé a quien sirvo que no aceptaré nada.” El otro insistió para que aceptara, pero él se negó. Entonces Naamán le dijo: “Muy bien, pero me gustaría al menos que dieras a tu servidor un poco de tierra para cargar un par de mulas, porque en adelante tu servidor no ofrecerá más sacrificios u holocaustos a otros dioses sino sólo a Yahvé.
Salmo responsorial (Salmo 98) (Versículos 1–4)
La respuesta es: El Señor ha revelado a las naciones su poder rescatante.
• Canten al Señor un canto nuevo, porque él hizo maravillas: su mano derecha y su santo brazo le obtuvieron la victoria.
• El Señor manifestó su victoria, reveló su justicia a los ojos de las naciones: se acordó de su amor y su fidelidad en favor del pueblo de Israel.
• Los confines de la tierra han contemplado el triunfo de nuestro Dios. Aclame al Señor toda la tierra, prorrumpan en cantos jubilosos.
Segunda Lectura (2 Timoteo 2: 8–13)
Una lectura de la segunda carta de San Pablo a Timoteo.
Acuérdate de Jesucristo, que resucitó de entre los muertos y es descendiente de David. Esta es la Buena Noticia que yo predico, por la cual sufro y estoy encadenado como un malhechor. Pero la palabra de Dios no está encadenada. Por eso soporto estas pruebas por amor a los elegidos, a fin de que ellos también alcancen la salvación que está en Cristo Jesús y participen de la gloria eterna. Esta doctrina es digna de fe: Si hemos muerto con él, viviremos con él. Si somos constantes, reinaremos con él. Si renegamos de él, él también renegará de nosotros. Si somos infieles, él es fiel, porque no puede renegar de sí mismo.
Evangelio (Lucas 17: 11–19)
Una lectura del Evangelio Santo según San Lucas.
Mientras se dirigía a Jerusalén, Jesús pesaba a través de Samaria y Galilea. Al entrar en un poblado, le salieron al encuentro diez leprosos, que se detuvieron a distancia y empezaron a gritarle: “¡Jesús, Maestro, ten compasión de nosotros!.” Al verlos, Jesús les dijo: “Vayan a presentarse a los sacerdotes.” Y en el camino quedaron purificados. Uno de ellos, al comprobar que estaba curado, volvió atrás alabando a Dios en voz alta y se arrojó a los pies de Jesús con el rostro en tierra, dándole gracias. Era un samaritano. Jesús le dijo entonces: “¿Cómo, no quedaron purificados los diez? Los otros nueve, ¿dónde están? ¿Ninguno volvió a dar gracias a Dios, sino este extranjero?” Y agregó: “Levántate y vete, tu fe te ha salvado.”
Responsorial Psalm (Psalm 98) (Verses 1–4)

Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done wonders; his right hand, his holy arm, has won victory for him.
The Lord has shown his salvation, revealing his justice to the nations. He has not forgotten his love nor his faithfulness to Israel.
The farthest ends of the earth have seen God's saving power. All you lands, make a joyful noise to the Lord, break into song and sing praise.

Kaya, pumunta rin si Naaman sa Ilog Jordan, at naglublob ng pitong beses gaya ng ipinagbibilin ng propetang si Eliseo. Nagbalik nga sa dati ang kanyang laman at kuminis ang kanyang balat, tulad ng kutis ng bata. Si Naaman at ang kanyang mga kasama ay bumalik kay Eliseo. Sinabi niya, “Ngayo'y napatunayan kong walang ibang diyos sa ibabaw ng lupa kundi ang Diyos ng Israel. Narito, pagdamutan ninyo itong aking nakayanan.” Ngunit sinabi ni Eliseo, “Saksi si Yahweh, ang buháy na Diyos na aking pinaglilingkuran, hindi ako tatanggap ng kahit ano.” Pinilit siya ni Naaman ngunit talagang ayaw niyang tumanggap. Dahil dito, sinabi ni Naaman, “Kung ayaw ninyo itong tanggapin, maaari po bang mag-uwi ako ng lupa mula rito? Kakargahan ko ng lupa ang aking dalawang mola. Mula ngayon, hindi na ako mag-aalay ng handog na susunugin sa sinumang diyos liban kay Yahweh.

Alalahanin mo si Jesu-Cristo, ang muling binuhay at nagmula sa angkan ni David, ayon sa Magandang Balitang ipinapangaral ko. Ito ang dahilan ng aking pagdurusa at pagkagapos na parang isang kriminal. Subalit hindi kailanman maigagapos ang salita ng Diyos. Tinitiis ko ang lahat ng bagay alang-alang sa mga hinirang ng Diyos upang magkaroon sila ng kaligtasan at walang hanggang kaluwalhatian mula kay Cristo Jesus. Totoo ang kasabihang ito: “Kung tayo'y namatay na kasama ni Jesu-Cristo, mabubuhay din tayong kasama niya. Kung tayo'y nagtitiis ng hirap sa mundong ito, maghahari din tayong kapiling niya. Kapag itinakwil natin siya, itatakwil rin niya tayo. Kung tayo man ay hindi tapat, siya'y nananatiling tapat pa rin sapagkat hindi niya maaaring itakwil ang kanyang sarili.”

Sa paglalakbay ni Jesus papuntang Jerusalem, nagdaan siya sa hangganan ng Samaria at Galilea. Habang papasok na siya sa isang nayon, sinalubong siya ng sampung ketongin. Tumigil ang mga ito sa may kalayuan at sumigaw, “Jesus! Panginoon! Mahabag po kayo sa amin!” Pagkakita sa kanila ay sinabi ni Jesus, “Lumakad na kayo at magpatingin sa mga pari.” Habang sila'y naglalakad, silang lahat ay gumaling at luminis. Nang mapuna ng isa na siya'y magaling na, nagbalik siyang sumisigaw ng pagpupuri sa Diyos. Nagpatirapa siya sa paanan ni Jesus at nagpasalamat. Ang taong ito'y isang Samaritano. “Hindi ba't sampu ang pinagaling?” tanong ni Jesus. “Nasaan ang siyam? Wala bang nagbalik upang magpuri sa Diyos kundi ang dayuhang ito?” Sinabi ni Jesus sa kanya, “Tumayo ka na at umuwi. Pinagaling ka ng iyong pananampalataya.”
